#17 of Inferno High

Sorry this is so short. I got caught up playing video games and watching movies, and then decided it was too late for posting already, so I just uploaded what I had. Anyways, enjoy, leave feedback, and don't forget that you're awesome!

The door opened and a mix of unexpected anthros came in. Three of them were otters, as me and Alex expected. Then two of them came over and were not otters. One of them was a full blown dragon, with black scales, scarlet eyes that glowed, and golden horns. His wings must've spanned twelve feet at least, and he stood four inches over Ted, who was taller than both me and Alex. The other was a gold and silver fusky, and she just went straight over to Tim.

The dragon spoke in a calm, smooth voice, but before he did he swallowed whatever was in his mouth, and I noticed he had two adam's apples, which probably added to his height.

"Hey Teddy!"

"Ben, could you not call me that around my friends?" [Ted]

"Nope. So... Why does... Why do you have pentagrams and snow flakes enscribing your body?" Ben was looking straight at me, with a questioning look on his face.

"Oh, they're natural." [Ted]

I felt two hands smack against the side of my face as Alex joyously pointed out, "And they glow!"

"Seriously, the next time you do that, you're dead." [Me]

"Uhh... So, anyways, what're we gonna do, Teddy?" [Ben]

"I don't know. I could beat the crap out of you for calling me Teddy." [Ted]

"Yeah, sure you could."

"We could play Cosmic Encounter." [Alex]

"What's that?"

"A game that I'm kick your guys' butts at whether I want to or not." [Me]

We sat down and started setting up the game. We just played it a few times before Kathryn came over and invited us to play a game called Avalon. I didn't entirely understand at first, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Of course, I coincidentally ended up being a "minion of Mordred" five times in a row. "Coincidentally". Even so, the bad guys won every time, so I guess I'm like super good at playing with peoples' minds or something.

I noticed my dad acting kinda funny about me and Alex, he'd look over at us and give us strange looks, studying us. I asked him later why he was looking at us so much.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" [Dad]

"You've been looking at me and Alex a lot. I... I just don't want you to be mad that I'm gay-"

"Wait, I'm not mad. If anything, I'm glad. You actually found people who don't care about the pentagrams. I don't care who you end up with, as long as they don't care about them."

"Really?"

"Of course, I only want what's best for you."

"Heh..."

"And... The pentagrams are kinda being outshined by the blue. The red slips in with the berghundy, but... That's actually not a bad look. I wonder what the next change will be."

"Wait, how do you know there's gonna be more?"

My dad lifted up his shirt, showing a massive line of stars and moons racing around his sides and over his shoulders. I'd always thought the little stars on his tail were tattoos, but this indicated otherwise. There were eight layers to it. A few golden stars on his white fur, another layer of silver moons, cyan comets, red circles, green planets, magenta rings, and yellow four point stars.

They seemed to be still, from moving in a fluid motion. Spiraling around his left side up his back, under his right arm, over his shoulder, and around to come down off his left shoulder and wrap underneath his arm, and streak across his back and around his right side to connect into a single line. They branched off here and there to shoot down his arms, legs, and his tail. It was interesting to look at, and it made me wonder if mom had one, too.

"I got these one symbol at a time. I got the four point stars when I was one, then when I was about your age I started getting more, and later I got the comets. From there, I just kept getting more and more. It didn't stop until about half way through college." [Dad]

"Woah... So I'm gonna have eight colors on my face?"

"Not nessacarily. Your uncle, Drake, only had two. But he also had bad acne, and the medications he used stunted his growth."

"Oh right. The dreaded tunneling acne."

"Yeah... Also, your aunt Grenda had fifteen, those came in year after year, and didn't stop until she her eighteenth birthday, mostly because they didn't start until she was three."

"So... It's genetic?"

"Yeah. But that's nothing to be ashamed of. You got one of the worst kind at birth, but you'll see. When you're in college, everyone's gonna think you're awesome. I see a little green in your ear."

"Really?" This actually excited me, as if now it wasn't some god foresaken curse, but more of a gift. It interested me, how many different colors and shapes would I end up with, and how would they look and be like with eachother.

"Just a little, but that's where the blue and red started. I'm sure if you looked close enough you could see all the colors you'd get."

"Huh... I'll just wait and see." We went back to the dining room where we were all playing games. I sat down next to alex and looked at him. Everything seemed better than it was before. I laid my head on his soft shoulder and closed my eyes. He lifted his arm up and pulled me closer to him, and I rested my head underneath his chin. Something about it just felt... right.

Later we all sat down and watched "It's a Wonderful Life", and I got to snuggle up to Alex while we watched it. I sat next to him, with our hands interlocked, resting our heads together. He was like an oven, radiating heat and warmth. His fur was soft and silky, and occasionally we'd look into eachother's eyes, and I could see so much detail in his. I hadn't paid attention before, but the muscle tendins were striped in a unique pattern. With a massive series of bright, harlequin green lines that sparkled like emeralds, there were a few sapphire blue lines, and I thought I caught a hint of amber around his pupil.

After the movie we all went to bed, with Ben sleeping in Ted's room with us. He curled up in a ball in the corner and didn't have a blanket or a pillow. Ted crawled under his mountain of sleeping bags and pillows, completely isolating himself from everything. Me and Alex cuddled up to each other, bundling ourselves in blankets.
