A Dragon for Christmas Part Nine: A Father's Promise

Kilmor sat on the changing table as Laura took the wet diaper and disposed of it. Reaching under the table, she pulled out two diapers. She proceeded with getting Kilmor changed.

A few minutes ago, the wolf mother had embraced him in a motherly hug. Kilmor was still trying to wrap his mind around it. He initially wrote it off as a simple gesture to fool Tyson. Yet, it felt so genuine that Kilmor was having doubts. Maybe this lady wasn't as sadistic as her husband.

He decided to take a chance. Tyson wasn't in the room and there was no way he could hear them.

"What kind of sick trick are you trying to pull?" Kilmor spoke up.

Laura stayed silent for a moment and motioned for Kilmor to lift up so she could fit the diaper under him.

"I'm not completely evil. I mean, yes, I did tie you down for that spanking and cut off your claws and horns. But you did hurt my son. And I was most certainly not going to argue with Roger. Once he gets going, you can't stop him."

She began taping the sides. "I know this is hard for you. And you most likely think that we are sick people for doing this to you. Not to mention sick parents for doing this for our child. But Roger.....ah.....never mind, it's nothing."

Kilmor raised himself up. "What are you talking about? Is Roger forcing you to do this? You can't let him bully you". Kilmor had hoped that he would somehow get the mother on his side.

"I'm not his prisoner. He has never threatened me. You don't know him. You don't know what happened to him."

"He said the same thing to me. Look, what's the harm in telling me? It's not like we can talk about much else. What the hell happened to him that made him do this?"

Laura sighed. She was done with the first diaper and was about to start the second one. She got up and walked over to a nearby mini fridge. She opened it and got out a bottle of juice. She handed it to Kilmor who started to drink it immediately. As she started to put on the second diaper, she spoke.

"Roger's childhood was absolute hell. His parents were the meanest people ever created. They did nothing for Roger. He had to do most of the chores and take care of his parents. There was not one caring bone in their bodies. Christmas time was the worst for Roger. His parents didn't' get him anything. And when he asked about Santa, they told him that Santa had skipped their house because Roger was a bad kid. This happened every single year until Roger was about ten years old. He had been taken away from his parents and given to a foster home. He was in the foster system until he turned eighteen."

Laura took a breath and adjusted the diaper on Kilmor, making sure it was snug but not tight.

"I met him in college. He was such a gentlemen when I first met him. You wouldn't think that he came from such a terrible home. It wasn't until we were married that he told me what happened. And that wasn't even the full story. To this day I still don't know what happened to him as a child. All I know was that when the time came when we were ready to start our family, Roger made a promise. He swore that he would be the best parent ever and would do everything in his power to make his children happy. I was touched by what he said. I didn't know that he would go this far."

Laura finished diapering Kilmor. The dragon had sucked down all the juice in his bottle. He had been listening intently the entire time.

"When Roger came to me with this idea, I was completely against it. I thought he was just being funny. But he was serious. He wanted to commit a crime just to keep our son happy. I had tried to talk him out of it, but he started talking about Christmas when he was a kid. How everyone in his class was making lists for Santa and he just watched them. He didn't even dare put down anything because he was afraid of what his parents would do to him."

She stood up, obviously more emotional than before.

"That man had assholes for parents! He was treated like crap for most of his childhood! He just wants to make his son happy! How can I stand in the way of that!? HOW!?"

She walked out of the room, tears crawling down her muzzle. Kilmor was about to walk after her when he heard the door lock. He was back in his cell once again.

He leaned against the changing table and sank slowly to the floor. He had thought he would be able to get through to Laura. She obviously felt guilty about doing this. He could tell she was under a lot of pressure. And Roger was the one to blame for it.

Even after finding out about Roger's past, Kilmor felt no remorse for the wolf father. Yes his childhood was shitty and his parents were pure evil, but it didn't excuse his criminal behavior.

It was clear Roger wanted to make sure no trace of his parents resided in him. He had refused to inherit anything from his parents. Hell, the fact that he looks like the both of them probably drove him crazy.

Kilmor shifted and heard the crinkle of his diapers. He found himself yawning loudly and his eyes began to flutter. He figured that he might as well take a nap.

He made his way into his crib and settled into a comfortable position. In no time at all, the dragon was asleep.

Kilmor awoke a couple of hours later. He blinked several times, his vision blurry. Once he could see clearly, he looked up to see Roger staring at him. Kilmor glared at the wolf.

"What do you want," he asked.

Roger chuckled. "A father can't watch his infant son sleep peacefully?"

Kilmor eyes narrowed. He was so close to sinking his teeth into Roger's throat. He could end this here and now with one bite.

"Come now little one. Daddy's got some news for the whole family," Roger said as he slid the side of the crib down. Kilmor got out and went down on all fours immediately. It sickened him that his body was adjusting to his new life. Roger swatted the dragon's behind, which made Kilmor crawl with more speed.

The two made their way into the living room. Tyson was busy coloring and Laura was reading a magazine.

"Now that everyone is here," said Roger, "I want to share some news with you all."

Tyson and Laura looked at Roger. Kilmor sat down, knowing that the news was good for his real family and not the "baby".

"My boss is throwing a huge banquet for all his employees and I get to invite the whole family!"

Laura stood up, a look of excitement etched across her face. "Wonderful! The last one we went to was amazing!"

Tyson stood up. "I get to go too!?"

Roger nodded.

"Cool! Can I sit next to Tyler when we get there?"

Right as the words came out of Tyson's mouth, Kilmor knew the answer to the question. A public outing? A chance for him to escape? Perish the thought.

"Sorry buddy," said Roger as he picked up Tyson. "Tyler can't come with us. By the time we get home, it'll be way past his bedtime."

Tyson frowned. "But it'll just be this one time, please Dad?"

"I wish we could but we can't. Don't worry, there'll be a next time okay?"

Tyson hugged his father. "Well, okay. But we can't leave Tyler all by himself! He'll get lonely."

Laura spoke up: "Don't worry honey. We got that covered. Why don't you head to your room and pick out some nice clothes? I'll be in there in a minute to help you."

"Okay mommy," the little wolf squeaked as his father let him down. He scurried off to his room and shut his door.

Kilmor looked over at Roger. "Aw come on Dad. You can trust me, I won't do anything." He smiled.

Roger shook his head. "Oh you're quite the comedian, dragon. Very amusing."

"What's the matter, don't trust me?"

"What was your first clue?"

The two stared at each other until Laura spoke up. "Well I better go check on Tyson and get him ready. I have to get ready myself anyway." She exited the living room, she stared at the floor as she walked by Kilmor and Roger.

Roger broke the silence: "You really think you're funny, don't you? Oh you have no idea what's in store for you."

Kilmor snorted. "Oh please. Like you would expose anyone else to the messed up shit going on in this house?"

Roger stared at Kilmor, his face completely blank. Until a smile crept across his face. Kilmor's eyes grew wide.

"Is he serious," Kilmor thought to himself. "How many more people has he brainwashed?"

Suddenly the doorbell rang.

"Would you look at that? The babysitter's here already."

Kilmor sat as a dark spot formed at the front of his diaper.
