"How's he doing?" Carter, a man of Mediterranean decent in a doctor's coat and a tie walked up next to Agent Henson, the American who had drugged and kidnapped Trevor who laid unconscious on a bed with medical equipment strapped to him.

After drugging Trevor, Henson had carried him over to a nearby car which drove them out of the city to an abandoned warehouse that they were using as their current base of operations. Inside was a simple set up, surveillance equipment, a small armory and some getaway vehicles, it was very short term.

"Not good." Henson grimaced as he handed over a medical clipboard that had all of the most recent readings from the medical equipment. "The infection is taking hold."

Carter flipped through the pages of the clipboard, taking in a general overview which confirmed what he was just told. "At this rate, he'll have no chance of recovery. We need to move him." He sighed and set the clipboard back on the end of the bed. "We don't have the necessary equipment or even the expertise to do anything here."

Henson shook his head. "Not enough time. It's been in his system for too long. I doubt he has until the end of the day."

Carter's shoulders slumped slightly and he walked over next to Trevor's head and looked down at him. "Should we..." He didn't finish his sentence, both of them knew exactly what protocol dictated. Any lost causes were to be quickly and humanely disposed of. As a doctor, Carter was sworn to help preserve life and it made following orders difficult since his own beliefs and the cause he was following often contradicted each other.

"Unless you can think of anything." Henson said. He shared many of the same convictions as Carter. The only reason why he was doing what he was doing was to help people who became ensnared with werewolves, like Trevor. The man had been under surveillance for some time, ever since he was spotted with a known werewolf. It was originally planned to pick him up several days ago, but they never got the chance until recently.

"Silver." Carter said unenthusiastically. "Silver is known to stop the transformation process."

"Will it work?"

"I don't know." He clenched his fist tightly. "The infection is already advance. It could kill him or do something even worse."

"How so?"

Carter recalled all of the information that he read from old manuscripts that had become available when he joined the secret organization that called itself the Inquisition. "Silver is poisonous to werewolves."

"Yes, I know that already." Henson nodded. "It screws up with the equilibrium between their human and wolf side. Causes one or the other to become dominant and in turn, it creates massive trauma." It was common knowledge since all agents in the field were equipped with the necessary knowledge to help them survive an encounter.

"Trevor here, is still dominantly human. Introducing silver won't disrupt any equilibrium and may be enough to get his human side to fight back the infection without serious or permanent damage."

"But..." Henson said. There was always a catch with these kinds of things, nothing was ever simple and sweet.

"But." Carter echoed. "If the silver causes the parts of him that are a wolf to become more dominant, the change will not only go through, it may end up going beyond what normally would happen. It's a fifty-fifty chance."

Henson thought it over. Henson was the highest ranking person there since the main officer had gone off to try and take matters into his own hands and managed to disappear. The final decision was his.

"If we do nothing, he dies." Henson began thinking out loud, going over his options. "If we go through with a silver injection and the infection is stopped, he lived. If he changes, he dies." He couldn't just sit by and do nothing, not while there was a chance to save him. "Go ahead and get the silver ready, I'll make sure everything else is ready in case things take a turn for the worse."

Carter nodded and let go of a breath he didn't know he was holding. It seemed like the best choice to him as well, it would give the man a chance and if it failed, he would be able to tell himself that he had tried in the end.

The preparation was short. Henson made sure to seal the place off so that no one would wander in during the procedure while Carter prepared a solution that had silver dissolved in it. During this time, Trevor came to.

"What's going on?" Trevor said to no one in particular, his vision was returning slowly. All he could see was the white of a doctor's lab coat, contrasting against the blackness of the area behind him. He tried to get up, but leather restraint kept him from rising more than a few inches off of his back.

"I need you to relax." Carter put a hand on Trevor's shoulder and gently pushed him back down. He had hoped that he would remain unconscious since he doubted the man would act rational. "You're in good hands."

"Who the fuck are you?" Trevor yelled not in a threatening way, but in a frightened way as he tried to see where he was. He could see that he was in some sort of warehouse due to the rafter designs on the ceiling which reminded him of Costco, but the similarities ended there. The doctor, under normal circumstances, looked like he would have been a nice person. His features were soft and his voice wasn't hard, it had an accent which he couldn't identify, but wouldn't have minded listening to on the radio.

"I'm Doctor Carter." He took his hand off of Trevor's shoulder when he relaxed a bit. Good, a bit of progress. "You're sick and we're here to help."

"We?" There was no one else around that Trevor could see.

"My partner is securing the perimeter. Once he gets back, I'll start your treatment."

Trevor didn't feel sick, in fact, he felt great other than a small headache that was returning. "I don't feel sick. Just a headache." Carter didn't look convinced. "Is there something wrong with me and why am I restrained. He gave his arm a tug to test the straps. The bed shook a bit and he stopped when it became clear that he wasn't going to be getting away.

"Stop that." Carter said, but didn't make any move to actually do anything. The restraints were tougher than they looked, meant to hold a werewolf down, a man wasn't going to do anything.

"Just let me go." Trevor breathed out. He was tired of this already. How hard was it to just have a vacation?

"I can't do that." Carter said as he pulled out a capped needle from his pocket and set it down on a metal pan that was on a metal cart. Trevor's eyes followed it. "You have a very serious infection. The people you have been with are responsible and we'll do everything we can to save you."

"Dmitri." Suddenly the doctor didn't seem all that friendly.

"The area is all clear." Henson walked in, a little bit of snow falling from his black coat. "Weather is picking up again, should keep people inside."

"You!" Trevor's eyes widened as he recognized the man who had drugged him. "Let me go!" He pulled hard against his restraints and there was groaning as they stretched.

"We need to do this now." Carter yelled to Henson who jumped to action. He brought out several more restraints which he started to wrap around Trevor's chest who had given up on trying to talk and was struggling, his entire body shaking the bed.

"Quick. We don't have much time." Henson pulled on the straps as hard as he could which did very little to stop Trevor's struggles.

Carter grabbed the needle and pulled the cap off and without a second's hesitation, he jabbed it into Trevor's arm and got about half of the fluid before the tip snapped off inside of Trevor.

Trevor cried out in agony as the silver traveled through his veins. It felt like burning oil was trapped under his skin and was dissolving his organs. Henson and Carter stepped back to see what would happen and they didn't have to wait long as Trevor's body began to reshape itself in a sickening manner.

"Grab the gun and call the authorities." Carter pushed Henson away. "We're not properly equipped."

"Stop avoiding the question." The Alpha walked in front of Dmitri, blocking his path. Their conversation, like he had expected, wasn't going well, but as the Alpha, it was his job to investigate every claim to a mate. He had nothing against Dmitri claiming a human, it wasn't uncommon since humans could be turned and turned humans could still bear children. However, two males could not reproduce, there was no benefit to the pack and therefore he was going to do his best to dissuade his son.

"I'm not avoiding it." Dmitri tried to walk around his father who just stepped back into his path. He glared at him. "I'm just choosing not to answer. I chose him and that's final."

The Alpha rolled his eyes. He felt like he was arguing with a pup except this pup was worse, much worse. He could officially challenge his claim since it wasn't beneficial to the pack, but he didn't want to use that card. They weren't that close to begin with and the Alpha didn't want to make that worse by trying to tear away something that he saw that his son obviously cared for. He sighed in defeat. "Fine, but I want to talk to him."

Dmitri actually smiled a little, happy to see that his father was willing to relent a bit. He still knew that he it wasn't the last he was going to hear about it, but it was a start, albeit one he got by butting heads. "Alright. I just need to find him."

"You lost him?" The Alpha face palmed in disbelief. "I don't want to know. Let's go find him."

Through luck, the two of them didn't have to look for that long. The police station was close to a park where Dmitri swore he caught the scent of Trevor. The Alpha, who was not familiar with the man's scent, had no choice but to follow as they began heading towards the outskirts of the city where multiple police cruisers sped by with their sirens blaring. Soon after, an armored military truck sped by as well.

"That can't be good." The Alpha mumbled, glad that something was finally happening. It wasn't, a quick jog brought them to what could only be described as a siege. A mixture of police and military types had cordoned off the entire area surrounding an abandoned warehouse. A large crowd of people were gathering at the edges, trying to see what was going on. Currently, all of the guns were still outside. They waited tensely as the sun slowly began to set.

"What's going on here?" The Alpha took to the front and asked one of the officers who stopped him from getting any closer.

The officer who was in full bullet proof armor and was sporting a jet black, synthetic Ak-47 looked at the werewolf who to him, just looked like another commoner. "Got the beast trapped inside." He pointed over his shoulder at the building which was now illuminated by spotlights.

"I just got here today. I'm not familiar with this beast."

"You live under a rock?" He asked more jokingly. "It's been all over the news. Something tore apart a few people a few nights back. Been trying to find it ever since. Now we got it trapped."

The Alpha thanked the man for the information and turned back to Dmitri with an eyebrow raised. "You know anything about this?"

"I tore into a few thugs when I was hungry." He shrugged as if it was nothing. "Though that doesn't explain what's actually inside the building. The only werewolves in the city are you, Sergei and me. Sergei doesn't ever turn into a wolf and we're here."

"That means that there's another werewolf that we don't know about in there."
