Suit-Jocks Ep. 1-01

"Tube Up."

"Red one, Ready your men, were approaching the AO" - Mother's Breath

"Affirmative Mothers Breath, Were moving to tubes now." - Vikk

The Suit Jock pulled the hammer back on his auto cannon. He cycled through satellite scans of the outpost on his suit's HUD. All the photos were from before they lost contact, the outpost appeared as if all was normal. But if all was fine why the hell would they send in a Suit squad.

"Sir, Any Ideas on what were up against out there?" - Cliffs

Vikk turned to see the Sargent give a crisp salute. Even though the suit inhibited movement for the regular soldier, Cliffs made the salute fast and fluid.

"Waist high water, heavy fog, possible fish in AO. Were getting close, so tube up sergeant." - Vikk

"Affirmative Sir. Dime! Kicks! Tube up marines!" - Cliffs

Two more suits strode into the already cramped hallway. Each suit opened a door leading to a shaft, They rested into a flat table. With a loud click the suits secured onto the launch tubes.

"Sir, Are their going to be any Fish on this mission? I'm really looking forward to getting a little pay back for L.A." - Dime

"We have no confirmations, but if a outpost goes silent, its a safe assumption that this place is crawling with fish." - Cliffs

"Cut the chatter marines, We got orders coming in from M.B." - Vikk

Several numbers and letters scrawled across Vikk's HUD A diamond appeared on his HUD with the words "Objective Alpha" under it. He thumbed up his Sat. Scans, the diamond was on the white house, the command post of the sector's military presence.

"Suit team Spear-Nose, prepare for insertion." - Mother's Breath

A sudden surge of air blasted under Vikk's feet, he felt himself rising rapidly. The tubes lights flashed in front of his face so fast they were a blur, then a loud pop rang through his suit as he was catapulted from his tube. On his HUD it showed his altitude, he quickly thumbed the information away. He hated knowing how high up he was. He looked down and saw the Mother's Breath floating between two skyscrapers, it rapidly shrunk as the further he got away from the ship. He closed his eyes and imagined he was a kid on a roller coaster, it got his mind off the fact that he was several hundred feet in the air. He felt the speed decrease as the suit went from flying like a bird shot out of a cannon to a rock falling out of the sky. He felt his insides shift, he quickly thumbed through his squads vitals and positions. Cliffs and Dime's Vitals were going at an increased rate, yet Kicks vitals were completely normal. They were all within a hundred feet of each other. Vikk looked through his Suits glass canopy at Kicks. Kicks' Suit was black with a shark mouth painted over the visor, when asked why he painted a shark mouth on his suit he simply responded, "Ironic aint it?"

Vikk felt a sudden jerk as his suit kicked its decent thrusters on. He closed his eyes and waited for the splash. The suit shuddered as it dropped its thruster pack off its back, then the eight foot armored suit splashed into the water. Vikk opened his eyes and took in his surroundings. He crashed through the roof of an warehouse and was standing in its flooded remains. several cardboard boxes drifted past him as he took a few steps around making sure nothing broke on insertion. He keyed up his radio.

"This is red one, team report in." - Vikk

"This is red two, I'm with red three. We landed in a park, were currently using an abandoned bus for cover. No sign of red four. Over." - Cliffs

"Red four reporting in, I crashed on top of a multi-story building, theirs plenty of cover up here and I have a good view of red two and the objective. Its not pretty. Over." - Kicks

"Red four, hold position. Red two, I'm on my way to your position. Eyes open, report any visuals red four." - Vikk

"Affirmative sir, I will provide over watch from my position." - Kicks

Vikk opened his HUD's map and placed a marker on Cliffs position. He walked over to a sheet metal door. He tried lifting it but it was jammed, he wasn't expecting any different. Vikk threw his auto cannon on his back and activated the touch on his arm. He started cutting through door, water spilled in from the cut. Vikk grumbled as he cut a circle into the door, water splashed past him into the warehouse quickly raising the water level to waist depth. He deactivated the touch and grabbed his gun from his back then climbed through the hole he cut. He was in a flooded street, around him were several other warehouses and delivery trucks. He couldn't see very far in front of himself as the morning fog was extremely thick. He flicked on his Infrared Night vision overlay and surveyed his surroundings again. He noticed that the entire area was silent except for the water rushing in to the warehouse behind him. He walked out onto the street and his map updated with a route for him to follow to get to Cliffs and Dime's position. He started down the street, water lapped at his waist with each step. He looked around as he walked, he saw vehicles submerged in water, buildings that were on the verge of collapse. What he saw next disturbed him.

"Mother's Breath, come in. I've got an egg clutch attached to the side of a building. What are my orders? Over." - Vikk

"Mark it and continue with your mission red one. Over" - Mother's Breath

"Affirmative." - Vikk

He took a sensor stick from his suits belt and stabbed it into the egg clutch. As he pulled back he heard a series of splashes behind him. He quickly turned with his gun raised. The water rippled like something had just surfaced. He continued down the street, he kept his gun leveled on the spot where the ripple originated.

"Red four, I've got movement near my position. Keep an eye on red two's position, I'm five minutes out." - Vikk

Several more splashes around him drew his attention, he looked around but still didn't see anything. He stopped moving and crouched down, placing his head under the water and released a sonar scan. The scan marked several objects were around him. As he went to surface he saw something swimming at him, It held a long pole like object and was brandishing it at his canopy. Vikk raised his auto cannon and loosed several rounds at the fish, it dodged them all. As Vikk went to fire another burst the fish left out of the air and grabbed onto his canopy. Vikk looked at the creature, it was almost human. Its skin was a soft shade of green and blue. It had two blue eyes, a nose and a mouth. But instead of normal human ears they more closely resembled the ears of a dog. It had long strands of blond hair, they stuck to the canopy because of the water. It was wearing a collection of rags and junk as makeshift clothing. From what Vikk could see it was Female. The pole arm it brandished was actually an M-16 with a series of cleavers, and knifes crudely attached to the barrel, it was horribly rusted. The fish brought the weapon down on the suits canopy. The make shift weapon bounced off harmlessly and snapped in half. The fish appeared surprised. Vikk took the opportunity to activate his stun baton on his left arm and strike it on the creatures back. The fish fell into the water with a splash.

"Mother's Breath, I have incapacitated a hostile. What are my orders?" - Vikk

"Detain the prisoner until evac then we will take it from there." - Mother's Breath

"Affirmative." - Vikk

Vikk quickly grabbed a pair of handcuffs and a "Fish mask" from his belt. He struggled with the handcuffs due to the thickness of his suits fingers, but eventually got them on. The mask was much easier to strap on. With his left arm he grabbed the prisoner and placed her on his shoulder. He was happy their was no struggle, she would hopefully be out for the next two hours. He quickly resumed walking towards Cliffs position hoping that he wouldn't run into any more distractions.
