#2 of Russell and Kyle

Yeah, yeah, it's super sappy and dumb, but it also shows some of the feelings i've been having lately. It's super short because I can't really think of anything to add to it, it's kinda just me venting my feelings.

August was nearing it's end, school was just starting and Russell's 16th birthday was right around the corner. He had been getting message after message from Kyle about it; the tiger seemed to be more hyped for Russell's birthday than he was! Russell had to admit, he was pretty suspicious, Kyle never really got excited for things, except when he was going to see Russell. As the otter laid in his bed, he got yet another message from Kyle;

"How are you not like super excited for your birthday man?"

"It's just, ehh, I'm not really excited for new material possessions..."

"Ohh, well, I'll be there at least."

"Now THAT'S something to look forward to, it'll be nice to cuddle up with my kitty."

"Mhmm, and it'll be nice to cuddle up with my otter."

"Well, I'm going to bed, seeya in a couple of days."

"Mm, goodnight."

Russell's birthday (Woo!)

Russell was having a pretty small birthday party, he had a kinda before party last week for all his kinda friends, but this one was just for his close family and Kyle. The whole thing started around 5, his family talked with him and Kyle and to them selves for a while. Food was served a bit later, and then cake. And finally presents, most the presents where assorted records, t-shirts, some other tat, but nothing too special. He had yet to see what Kyle got him, but he'd have to wait apparently;

"My gift for Russell is a bit, personal, so i'm gonna give it to him when it's just us..."

Russell's parents acknowledged it, and didn't take it the wrong way. Whatever bit of party it even was died down and left Kyle and Russell cuddling in the otter's room. Russell could tell by the way Kyle was acting that he had something to say. And he was just about to spill the beans;

"So, umm, Russell?"

"Mhmm."

"I was planning on telling you something..."

"Mhmm, What is it?"

"I, well, I like you a lot, like a lot lot. You make me feel really good, and i've been with other guys and not really felt this way. Just the thought of you being around makes me smile. We may not be perfect, but you're the only person i've really felt was 'perfect' for me. I guess what i'm trying to say is, I love you..."

Russell nuzzled his head into Kyle's chest and he thought he had done something wrong. He heard Russell sniffling a bit and felt a small wet spot on his fur."

"Russell? Did, did I say something wrong?"

Russell just shook his head and nuzzled back into Kyle's chest."

"It, it's just that, there was a long time when I thought nobody would ever tell me that..."

The otter's words were mumbled a bit and muffled by Kyle's fur, but the tiger got most of it. He pulled Russell up a bit higher and held him tight, comforting Russell as best he could. Kyle couldn't quite tell if the otter was sad or really happy or what.

"You, you may be the only guy I have had a relationship with, but I truly feel the same you do. You make me feel as you described."

Russell had kinda stopped crying, he was now just holding his head to Kyle's chest. Kyle kissed the top of Russell's head and pulled something out of his pocket. He took the steel ring and slipped it on Russell's finger, the otter moved his hand to look at it and just stared.

"It's a promise, that i'm not gonna ever cheat on you or harm you or anything at all. I'll be your shoulder to cry on and arms to hold you. As long as you wear that ring, I'm yours and only yours."

Russell rubbed his thumb over the ring on his left ring finger. It got a genuine smile out of him, and that was more than enough for Kyle to now that his boyfriend was happy, and thankfully not otherwise. Kyle kissed Russell's head another time and pulled the otter up even closer. Russell closed his eyes and listened to the purr of his mate, it lulled him into a state of drowsiness, and he let himself drift away from reality. Kyle waited a half an hour or so before carefully removing the otter from himself, grabbing his things, and leaving.
