Author's Note: Welp, sorry for the wait. I decided to release these in small parts so I don't get lazy haha. So here, more character development! :D Be sure to remember these little things. It's going to be a bit of a foreshadow in the near future.

Footfall was heard resounding from the empty hallways as two black leather shoes slowly made their way to their destination. The screen pans as a tuxedo suit with golden embellishments waving in the air was seen and a man with a distinguishable facial structure was shown. The man was seemingly smiling as he was carrying a shoulder bag over the designated body part it was designed for. The time was 7:30 PM, only thirty more minutes 'til the school's closing time. And the Head Disciplinarian was about to attend a meeting concerning the reformations of the school's policy. Although, he didn't expect to see anyone of worth there, well.. until now.

The male came close to a halt as he saw a figure walking towards him. A familiar male stood before him, the figure walked elegantly towards Raiji as he was a bit surprised to see him roaming the hallways.

"Ah, Kizu-san." the esteemed male said in a gentle tone. "I swore I dismissed all of the staff here, but you still remain. What business do you still have here?" the male asked in a rather curious tone, but not one that would sound suspicious.

"Ah, you know, Meki-chan. I'm just doing my rounds for the night. You know this place needs more devoted employees. I need to set an example for the younger ones, right?" the male gave a hearty chuckle as he took his tuxedo suit and wore them as if he were giving example to be a brighter and better man.

'I will delve into this conquest, with or without you! You may leave Chancellor Kashikoi, I won't stop you. But my ambitions are bare, and it is too late to turn back now. I will face this predicament with my honor. You can put that on the stakes!'

'Trying to atone for something, hm?' Kashikoi thought as a bit of his stern facial features became still as a dead leaf. A brief but unforgettable memory had been instilled in Kashikoi's mind. Two snowflake-colored brows creased at this nonchalancy, Kashikoi was not a man to be presented with such lax behavior.

"Say, Meki-chan.. it's been a long while since we got to talk like this so casually. Everything's business with you being the governor and all. I don't think you'd have enough time for yourself." Raiji commented on, in a rather concerned manner.

"Well, as I am led to believe, Kizu-san, you are the prefect of this school. I expected a more stern behavior from you." Kashikoi commented, his stance becoming more rigid as he gazed the male right in the eye, his height slightly towering him, albeit being the same measurement.

"Huh? Well.. I.. the kids are going through a bit of stress, right? I intended to lessen their worries a little." Raiji said in his rebuttal.

"A little, you say? Then you should've just applied for the school counselor, Kizu-san." Kashikoi sternly spoke. Raiji felt like a spear was being lodged into his chest, the man before him was indeed still the friend he knew: intelligent, but strict. "May I remind you about this school's rising delinquency? It's not something you should take lightly." Kashikoi spoke again with nails in his words.

"But, I--" before Raiji could come as close to a reply, the headmaster cut him off.

"Are those excuses I hear? I require discipline, Kizu-san. The reason I contacted you was because numerous delinquencies here in the campus are out of control. I've had prefects like you 'disappear', if you catch my drift." Kashikoi, growing more irritated by the second shoved numerous papers into Raiji's arms. "Handle these for me. If don't have anything else to do. My office is open." Kashikoi said as he brushed past the prefect.

Raiji sighed as he shook his head in a very annoyed manner. "He's always been like this." he said to himself as he looked back at the slightly irritated headmaster.

[7:45 PM -- HEADMASTER'S OFFICE]

Raiji had arrived at two giant double doors as he slowly opened one of them. The creaking noise of the door sent a resounding chill down the prefect's spine. The room was cold and dark, the only light that seemed to seep in through was the dim moonlight which made its way through the giant window behind a well maintained desk. The male looked up as he gazed at the high ceiling. There was a second floor in this room, and within it contained numerous shelves filled with books.

"Scholarly as always.." Raiji commented, as he flipped on a switch, turning on the giant chandelier hanging over the desk. "With a complex taste... as always."

Raiji walked upon the rug as he searched for the cabinet these files were to be stored in. Raiji found a grey, metal filer and opened the top drawer. "Ugh, these files are arranged alphabetically. He'll kill me if I even make the slightest mistake." he said to himself, a comical sweatdrop forming on his temple.

Raiji pulled out the bottom drawer as he found the specific place to file these. But forgetting that he had not pushed back the top drawer, he inevitably hit his head on the metal drawer.

"Ack!--" Raiji yelped out as a resounding thud was heard. The impact of that hit had files scattered everywhere. "N-No..!" the prefect shouted as he rushed to fix the files in their order again. Fingers sprawled across the files as Raiji quickly arranged them in an orderly manner. Then Raiji caught a quick glimpse at one of the files. It looked very important as it was custom-built. A red velvet folder with golden decorations on it.

Looking around, Raiji wanted to know if Kashikoi was around here. Then he spotted a security camera in the distance. And two more behind him.

Black lightning slowly enveloped the prefect, the current flowed through the ground, through the walls and shut the security cameras down. With that problem solved, Raiji opened the file and saw a picture. It was picture of Kashikoi and five young children. Raiji could not recognize these faces, but he definitely knew that this was the time when Kashikoi left his military service. He didn't want to admit it, but that photograph held one of the greatest mistakes of his life.

In the picture was young Kashikoi standing in the middle still donning his long, white hair. Then a tall, adolescent boy with white hair beside him. A young girl with brown hair in the middle was sitting in front of Kashikoi. Beside the girl was two boys, one black haired and one blonde. And at the far end of the photograph was a brown-haired lad seemingly striking a peace sign. The background was a lovely meadow.

"... Peaceful times, huh, Meki-chan?" Raiji said to himself in a rather baritone voice. It was written in his eyes. He knew these children.

Raiji flipped through the pages of the file and the next page was written memos. He could clearly recognize the hand writing. The words wrote where: "I know they're alive.", "I'll find them.", "I won't let them relive the same suffering."

Raiji also found a map of Shinzuku City clipped onto the file. The map was littered with red lines and circles, probably made by a red marker. It had the words: "Search zone narrowed.", "District 34: Suspicious Area."

The male then turned to the reports section of the file and saw numerous reports from SCEPTRE. SCEPTRE was a special corps of Shinzuku's Police Task Force and had the equivalent strength of a functioning military due to their highly advanced skills. "Is he really that desperate?.. That poor man." he said as he kept reading through the reports. The reports generally viewed that those children were seen inside Shinzuku City. "Kashikoi's been using his title as governor for a personal search party."

Raiji also saw letters from a certain person inside the file. The name addressed was Julius Visconti. "Julius Visconti? The governor-general of Terre de le Herauts?" Raiji quickly read through the letter as he had summarized that Kashikoi was calling in for a favor. To which the governor-general agreed to. "He's been using the royal guard for a petty search party?" he said as he slowly shook his head in pity.

Then a certain letter came into light as he pulled it out of the folder. It was a intricately formal letter addressed to Kiyoshi Kitsune. All Raiji could see on the paper though was a giant ink stain that read "NO" on it. The letter was a letter of request to use the Bureau's spy network for the search. "Hn.. typical Kiyoshi.." Raiji said as he shook his head, smiling.

Raiji then came to the vital part of the folder, and the title page read in all caps "PROFILES". These were the personal information of those children. Raiji's finger touched the edge of the paper as he slowly flipped it to reveal the first profile. But before Raiji could read it, he was abruptly levitated into the air by some kind of force. In that moment, he had dropped the file as the papers scattered across the velvet rug.

"H-Huh?-- Wha-- Agh!!" the male was slammed into the wall, and back down into the floor through a mysterious levitating force. Raiji rubbed his head as he gazed up at his assaulter. The male could see a white, long-robed jacket with intricate buttons on it. A black-gloved hand tapping on his crossed arms and finally he met the gaze of two lavender eyes. Those eyes seemed to have the intent to kill.

"Ah, it seems we have a little altercation here, Kizu-san." the male spoke condescendingly and in an annoyed tone. Footsteps came closer to the prefect as the figure raised his finger and lifted the grounded Luxray from his nether regions. The white-haired male took the files and arranged them back in order. "Is there any reason you'd like to meddle in my personal affairs? That's not very gentleman-like." he said as he shot an evil glare at Raiji.

".. You know, Meki-chan.." Raiji said as he stretched his body, and rubbed the painful hits he had received earlier. "Those children.. you probably won't find them anymore." Raiji said, as he walked towards the door exiting the office. But then he was stopped by a loud thud. Kashikoi had slammed his fist into the table. Raiji froze in surprise as he waited for a word to come out of him.

".. Who's fault do you think it was?" Kashikoi said in a cold tone, seemingly piercing Raiji in the heart.

Raiji hung his head, speechless as he closed the door behind him, leaving an emotionally distressed man in that room, only to hear remnants of his loud sobs.

END.
