Neko Journals - The package, part 1

You might say this is actually my journal, of sorts.

But instead of me, you'll join a feline named Neko through various moments in his life.

In this one, Neko finally receives a package he's been waiting for.

'Osuka, your package is here!'

Osuka ' ears perked upwards, as did his eyes, up from his 3 DS as he sat by the kitchen table.

He could see the delivery van through the kitchen window.

'About time...' He thought.

He had made the order almost a month ago.

If it hadn't been for the e-mail he got only two days ago, he would've forgotten all about it.

But while he was relieved that it finally came, he was also excited and, well, a bit nervous.

This was the first time his mom was home when he received the delivery.

He put down the 3RD, glanced at his drawing paper, where he had drawn a rather realistic sketch of his boyfriend... or rather, his fiancé.

He walked over to the door and, noticing that the person with the delivery hadn't reached the front door yet, he waited, absentmindedly stroking the head of one of his cats, a white little female named Milka.

He thought it would be a bit creepy if he would stand by the open door and wait.

A few seconds later, he heard the knocking on the door.

He opened it and a black-haired woman was standing there.

He recognized her as the one who briught him his first order.

She was holding a rather big package. About as twice as big as the previous ones.

'Hi. I've got a package for you.' She said, handing the package over to Osuka.

It was a bit heavy, too...

'Thank you.' Osuka said, putting the package on the drawer in the hall and turning to the woman again.

'I'll need your signature...' She said, holding up a small digital writing pad, and a pen.

Osuka took the pen and wrote his name, rather messy, on the indicated box.

'Thank you.' The woman said, took back the pen and walked back to her van.

Osuka closed the door, took the box, went up the stairs, into his room, and closed the door.

Luckily, his mom seemed to have been uninterested in what was in the box to make Osuka hunch over a bit in order to carry it.

Or maybe it was simply because she was washing something, and trying to ignore the pain from the cut on the side of her finger.

Osuka put the box down on his bed, almost tripping over his chair where his laptop was sitting, playing Michael Rosen YTP collabs on YouTube.

He then took a white pocket knife from his bedside table and pulled out the blade.

He started with sticking the blade into the sides of the lids, cutting through the tape.

He's always enjoyed doing this for a reason... He didn't know why, though...

He then carefully stuck the tip of the blade between the lids, cutting through the tape.

He ran it down one side, pulled out, rotated the knife in his hand, and stuck it in again, cutting through the rest of the tape.

He then opened the box.

A thin purple paper covered the contents, along with a few pink packing peanuts, probably gained the pink color from the paper.

Osuka couldn't see the content, but he knew what it was.

He quickly looked around his room.

The box he's used until now is much too small to fit all these, he was sure about THAT.

He then looked over at the shelf next to his bed, at two boxes that were on the middle row.

'Maybe...'

He walked over and pulled out the box to the right, brought it over to the bed, put it down next to the cardboard box, and opened it.

Of course... junk, junk, junk...

Two M&M boxes that were filled with useless junk and a bag of marbles, and which came with water bottles to use as lids, but which were probably somewhere down in the kitchen...

An empty box that had contained a glass jar and a glass, for the bedside table when you were thirsty...

A cardboard box that had contained a touch pen and pad for the computer...

Two blank pocket books he never wrote in nowadays...

An old perfume box, the content of which Osuka had forgotten about.

A small wooden box containing a bunch of Pokemon cards and a plastic Ultra ball...

An old Game and Watch with Zelda on it...

He quickly emptied the box and finally, he turned to the cardboard box and removed the purple cover...

He smiled as he saw a hint of red.
