Chapter 13: Capture & Escape

President Bush was looking out of his window seeing out into the darkness that was only lit by the town that had been crowded by people and still was. He looked out into the crowd and could not look away in shame. He had thought about Ryan's disappearance, my disappearance, the "blue lion man" which I knew was Kimahri, and any other news of what was going on, including the war.

"Mr. President!" He looked back and saw the military general with the two marines behind him. "Status report sir!"

"Alright, what have you got today?" The president asked.

"We have just gotten a report on which a terrorist group in Los Angeles was killed sir." He handed a folder to the president's desk in which he didn't open but just stared at it intently. "Evidence has shown that the leader was cut deep in the chest and fell on the windshield of the destroyed vehicle, while the other one had appeared to have been stabbed in the head. The third terrorist was found to have been launched into the lake on a nearby field sir, and reports have shown that 66% of this was related to the disappearance of Eric Lewis." The president felt stunned.

"Anything else?" He asked, suddenly in a worrying tone.

"The only other thing was that there we're strange purple lights that are being lit up somewhere in the field sir. What should we do about it?" He figured that another odd thing like this would also lead to us.

"Take the police forces in Los Angeles and the Marines and investigate this immediately! If it's that 'blue lion man', capture him and bring him to the government building's underground level."

"What about Eric sir?"

"Take him to the town's police station and call his mother. Don't talk about the lion man on this and tell her that he's safe."

"Yes sir." The general and the marines have left the room, making things quiet for the president again.

"We got you now.... Lion man...." He said to himself. "I wonder who you are..."

"Oh crap!" I exclaimed. "Police and the military. Quick, we got to hide." I turned around but we couldn't find a place to hide with the tanks and police cars circling around us, and there we're several choppers with very bright lights on exposing us and we knew that we we're surrounded. From one of the tanks came out somebody which to me guess was the general.

"Don't you move! We got you surrounded. You there, 'blue lion man', step away from the boy." Oh no, oh no! My thoughts ran wild. Kimahri's been exposed, at least, not completely. I'm sure they're just convinced that he's still a guy in a costume, are they? I hope they are, but if they found out of his existence, we're in deep shit.

"Sir!" One of the Marines exclaimed to the general. "It's confirmed, it's them sir!" He nodded and said.

"I knew that soldier! You think I'm deaf?!" He turned back to us, and I had to ask.

"What do you want with u-" I was interrupted.

"I gave you an order, step away! Or he'll kill you!" He'll? I looked back at Kimahri who stepped back from me, saying nothing like usual. I wasn't very comfortable with this, having people like them intervening with my personal affairs, especially with Kimahri.

"What do you want with us?!" I asked again, feeling a little more agitated.

"Get away from him!" The general ordered. "He's the one who has kidnapped you all this time!"

"WHAT?!" That was a statement that I would never forget. He did not kidnap me, I thought, he rescued me and got me away from town to avoid the danger, especially if the stalkers' accomplices had tried to come back to get me. "That's not right!" I looked back at the Ronso, which from his facial expression I could tell he was confused too. "He never kidnapped me! He rescued me! What are you?! Retarded?!" Every soldier and cop around us had simultaneously aimed their guns at us ready to fire, hearing clicks from their guns all around me. My adrenaline had rushed out of fear, as if something or someone tried to kill me.

"Whoa, ok."

"Put your hands behind your head." One of the cops said and we did as we're told. The cop then came up to the Ronso and put his hands everywhere, probably to check something. That didn't make me comfortable whatsoever watching the police's hands touching Kimahri like that. And I'm pretty sure it didn't make him comfortable either. It appeared that he didn't find anything in particular, but please, don't ask. "Alright you. I'll just need to put your hands behind your back." When he said that, it was when my thoughts set me off. Oh no!

"Oh no you don't!" I snapped at them. "You are not taking Kimahri away from me and making my life miserable!" The cop then turned to me and aimed his gun yelling.

"Shut your damn mouth!"

"RUN!" Kimahri then punched the cop square in the face and he fell unconscious.

"Fire!" The general shouted, and guns had started firing everywhere. Kimahri was too swift for the bullets to actually hit him and he got me out of the crossfire, embracing me as he jumped really high to the nearby trees and took off away from the circle. "Don't let him get away!" The general shouted.

"Yes sir. Roger that." Everywhere the forces have scattered and went on a full pursuit. The choppers went up into the sky with their lights going everywhere. The huge rays of light was so blinding from the darkness of the night causing me to squint everywhere I looked. Kimahri swiftly hid us somewhere in the forest and he dropped me off. He looked back and glared back at them as he figured out what they really want with him.

"We go. Run!" I nodded.

"Let's go." I ran ahead and Kimahri followed suit, but just merely running wasn't enough for the choppers to get away from.

"They're headed into the forest." One of the pilots said.

"Roger." They went opposite ways, and the general got the message.

"All right, everyone into the trees. Prepare the high security cargo hold for the lion man!"

"Yes sir." After a few minutes of running, I started to tire out and my heart pounded fast. We stopped as I breathed heavily from exhaustion and dehydration. We heard footsteps behind us which scared me even more, and the Ronso grabbed his spear.

"Do you think... we have... to fight?..." I asked, still panting heavily.

"Afraid so." I couldn't how we could do anything besides run, since I was just out of it back from the fight with Inura. We gotta find another escape point. I thought, then apparently I looked to my left and something about it seemed completely dark about it.

"Over here." I motioned the Ronso to follow me and he did. We went on and from beyond the trees seemed to be outskirts of a distant town. I could tell because there was a little road here with some little fencing around it. We went around the road and down the street. It seemed like the choppers we're the hardest to get away from and switching to my mage class, I had enough energy for one last spell. "Thunder!" I summoned a bolt of lightning from the sky and it hit the propeller of one of the choppers, causing it to crash and burn. Then I had lost it all, the magic, the energy. I became really hungry and tired from this all, and Kimahri had taken care of some of the other choppers with what I guessed was his Thundaga spell.

We then ran again and about that time I was about to collapse from lack of energy. I tripped and fell to my knees, and shifted back to freelancer class. Kimahri knew something was wrong with me and grabbed me up, and carried me on his back as he continued running. That was another thing I loved about the Ronso. He's always there for me when I needed him the most, and that includes this case. It didn't take long however for a few cop cars to show up and started to chase us and try to stop us. The first two that appeared had barred up the road, hoping to stop us and corner us. Kimahri though was too swift for them and he jumped really high and we got passed them easily. It didn't take them too long though before they started to chase up again, along with two more, giving us four police cars to bother with.

He had to do something, something to throw off our pursuers. And I couldn't help with the lack of energy. The Ronso held his fingers up to his forehead as if concentrating on a spell, ready to cast more spells at the right time. He held out his hands and called upon some Firaga spells, blasting each car with relative ease. It seemed like he was about to slow down, but I was sure he still had energy left to fight still. But this was all too much and we needed to hide, in safety.

"They're not stopping!" I realized. "And they probably got reinforcements. Where should we hide." The Ronso looked all around and let me down. I slowly regained some energy that I could stand on my own and run again, but was incredibly dehydrated. He found an alley near the town we were so we could hide, and figured it was the right one.

"Over here!" He shouted and grabbed my hand, and we ran to hide. It seemed like he was yanking my arm off, but I figured it was for the best and didn't mind it shortly afterwards. We quickly swerved to the right and up the path going up and hid to where the shadows were. We surveyed the area which seemed to be a dark square area with storage boxes all around. Kimahri looked back and saw the police cars going past us. I just simply stayed in the shadow under the Ronso's embrace. The sound had ceased and I sighed in relief, then we broke off the hug.

"Phew....." I turned around to face Kimahri. "I don't know what that was about, but I'm glad it's over." He nodded and then something had hit his nose with a tiny drop, then shortly after another drop hit him again, followed by some more drops on the ground. One caught me in the eye and I looked up and saw that the sky was a dull grayish color, and it was starting to rain. Thankfully, not very much could get through the screen on top of where we were standing so we wouldn't mind much. "I just hope that police or the army don't come back." Then out of nowhere we heard something launch, and came at us right at the blue. Some metal latch thing had just caught the Ronso and struggled to break free. I looked at it completely bewildered and asked. "Kimahri?! What happened?" I looked there and saw that I just got caught by a rope like a lasso, trapping my arms, torso, and legs and fell on my back to the ground.

"Ah... What's?-" I struggled to break free and tried to reach the Keyblade, but I could not get it, and I could not use magic to break free since I was completely drained. We looked and saw the army tanks and one huge helicopter come at us.

"We got them right where we want them." The general had said to his troops, and he also noticed Kimahri trying to break free and was about to succeed. He's stronger than I thought, he thought to himself. "Alright. Zap him!" Then the next second, a powerful electric shock had emitted from the latch and the Ronso roared in pain.

"Kimahri NO!" This was really bad and I wanted to save him trying to get up on the ground.

"Get that kid." The general commanded, then the troops came up by and hit me in the stomach really hard and yelled. They grabbed me by the limbs and carried me to one of the cars. I could only struggle to see Kimahri squirming on the ground, as if he were paralyzed and other troops came up to him and latched the latch onto the rope of the chopper.

"NO! LET HIM GO!" I shouted in desperation, but they could not listen to me when they brought him up and sealed him up in the chopper and flew away, while the truck that I was tied up to had driven away from it. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
