The Ugly

"I thought you've died, Ray. I saw your death back then...when Cero came to you and..."

"Young dragon, I simply rebooted," said Raithorakh while embracing Seraphor. "I'm half-machine of an advanced type. That blast that propelled you out into the other dimension was simply just leaving out the remaining energy Ernest had inside me, with that side effect. I owe you an apology, though, for taking you away from your beloved mate. Will you forgive me?"

"You're never wrong, Ray. Because of you, I've met more friends and more adventures than I usually had. It's not just me. Richard returned and became a badass!"

"Then, good for you." Suddenly his voice changed into that of Konaz. "For the blessing of the almighty gods of dragons, I, Konaz of the First Warden, command you. Release this dragon from his bonds, as he has gained his freedom."

As the collar went off from Seraphor's neck, a sudden surge of energy awakened inside Seraphor, and he felt refreshed. He quickly realized there were other Parusans still loyal to both Konaz and Amretriel trying to pin the small black dragon in the middle of the fight. Seraphor, in desperation, used his original element of electricity, absorbing the electron in the air, and started to dash away to the Parusans and opened his reformed wings. He made a turn and the wing made out an electricity slash that cut through some dragons clean. As the dragons were staggered by the great feat of energy, Seraphor didn't give time for them to recover when he concentrated the whole energy to his four legs and, moving like a lightning bolt, he started to slash away the dragons in a quick succession, making him look like a silver streak. The dragons he attacked were either fall or lose some part of their body as the small dragon attacked them relentlessly. Only less than a minute, Seraphor had made them all surrender, which gave Raithorakh a slight disbelief, before he said, "You've grown, Seraphor. You used my power perfectly. Minis Entarier Maragtye? You never cease to amaze me."

"That's for that."

"Oh, and..."

Before Raithorakh could finish, the silver red dragon had sensed the remaining Parusan behind him and he stomped his leg to the sand. A paw formed by the sand punched the Parusan upward before he fell on a sharp thorn growing rapidly from the sand, which pierced him from the inside as they branched out, shredding him to pieces.

"What a view," said Raithorakh while being surprised. "You have a sense of violence, it seems?"

"Wow, I never thought you approve this. What have changed in you, man? Is your heart as cold as that steel you have?"

"Oh don't worry. I am always the good old Raithorakh to you. I want to see the blonde's face when he saw me alive."

Meanwhile...

"Ancestors...you really are here," said Bartoz with a sigh. "So, worked out those wings of yours, eh?"

"I'm not here to hear your unnecessary comment, Bartoz. We both tried to find you and guess what? I saw you being pushed by this weakling. Are you trying to tell me that you actually felt sympathy over that undying dragon?"

"Why do others keep telling me that? Is that even something to blame about?"

"You do know you're fueled by the suffering of others, right?"

"Yeah, right," said Bartoz sarcastically. "There's only one dragon with that affinity in this Pit."

"Oh, shut up, you."

Bartoz tried to further explain the situation to his comrade when suddenly Konaz jumped to them and tried to make a giant slash over both of them. Unknowingly to him, a strong gust of wind threw away Konaz and both dragons turned to the user of the wind.

"Stay alert, father! You know we've just known each other, so try to keep yourself safe!"

"Don't worry, Avila, my dear. I'm perfectly fit into a fight."

"This quick turn of event surprised Bartoz, prompting him to ask, "You told her, Xiciro?"

"She's like her mate. She's born genius. I accepted their mating, but for some matters, I still need to talk to my girl."

Konaz still tried to attack both of them, now clearly losing his cool. Bartoz and Xiciro jumped to the side with their four legs and extended one of their front legs to face each other. There was a ripple of energy as the darkness came condensed and a string formed between them. They tried to cut Konaz into half when the dragon, almost without any strength, ran through the string and said, "You useless traitors are no match for the darkness!"

"Well, lookie here. All cocky and prideful," said Xiciro. "You know that when you have challenged us, there's no way you will survive unharmed."

"Do you think you're safe with the losing side? The Dragonsbane will give you a dear suffering for what you've done! You'll feel the might of the Parusans running in your veins. For you traitors, I will give you a torture that make both of you wish you could die."

"What do you know?" said Xiciro with a sarcastic laugh. "A weakling challenging us? Oh, what a pain in the ass. Now kneel before me before I must destroy your very existence."

"Xiciro...stop doing that. You're with the Order."

"Just for fun."

"You dare to challenge the darkness himself? You pitiful lot are very sorry for even alive..."

Suddenly, without any warning, Xiciro made a cut to the air and a sudden opening of a portal was produced in front of the dark purple dragon. Konaz quickly realized that this particular ability was what made the Rising Hearts a dangerous group, and he tried to claw his way out from the pulling effect of the portal, now aware of the true potential of the Western dragons. The two black dragons loomed over him as he stared at them in both anger and fear, pleading to be let alive. Xiciro somehow knew Konaz' intention, and he pulled Konaz' arm and said, "I don't even want to think about your fate in there. Emero Carought was my prison, where you'll find nothing except darkness. You'll feel no pain, no hunger. Basically, nothing. I don't know when will you be expelled from this dimension, as I returned only after a mere 100 years. There's a time where you must try to fight your way out, find your own existence, and be a better dragon. But until then, your senses will not function, and you're as good as dead, despite of still living."

Konaz tried to plead again, but the darkness started to claim his own existence. Xiciro knew the fate that will fall upon the poor Parusan, and sarcastically saying, "You know, in there you might become darkness yourself" before releasing his grip on Konaz' hand. Konaz tried to claw his way out, but the gravity was so strong that he slipped. Just seconds later, Konaz lost all senses. He couldn't hear anything, see anything, or even touch anything. He couldn't even feel if his body was moving or not. He was suspended, or maybe he was falling. The Parusan couldn't see anything. He tried to turn, but it was useless without any sense of direction or any certainty if his dragon body was moving or not. The whole place was silent, like a void, with nothing to know if he's still awake or if he had died. This was the worst prison he knew he would be in. He was a captive to his own words.

Xiciro then closed the dark portal, unsure on what he had done was correct or not. Bartoz wanted to comfort him, but Avila went to his father's side first, comforting him. Bartoz then smiled to them and returned to where Karkariz was thrown. The light blue Parusan was unconscious, but with some broken ribs and damaged horn, Karkariz was otherwise okay. He smiled, knowing that he still had hope for their future, even if it lasted.

Then Seraphor tried to stand, but Raithorakh didn't want his old friend to hurt more, and he said, "Rest well, young one. You've fought hard. You may be a legendary dragon, but I know better on your physical limitation."

"Yeah, you can say that because of you being a cyborg. Have you been upgraded lately? You look the same when you died."

"It's an essentiality to find something new, like how I know you have some broken ribs. It's a miracle that you can still stand, but rest well."

"Can you sense an army of slayer behind you?"

"Are you testing me, young one? Five dozens of dragon slayers wearing carbon black armor and spears bathed in the essence of Tranqulite. Marvelous piece of element. It can pierce through a dragon's scales as they robbed the magical essence that naturally lined a dragon's body. When it gets in contact with the flesh underneath, it gives a nasty burn."

Seraphor then got surprised, "W...wait a sec. We have periodic element in this world too?"

"I know everything better with my upgrades, Seraphor. So, where were we? Ah yes. Activate shield!"

Suddenly just before a group of humans tried to stab Raithorakh from behind, the metallic part of the thunder dragon's body flew out from his body and rapidly forming a sphere around both Seraphor and Raithorakh. This caused the dragon to get even more surprised as he knew it only happened in science fiction. Raithorakh then made a smile and said, "Initiate Silver Sword Spin."

Turning around his body, Raithorakh quickly stop with both of his back legs. The metallic shield suddenly moved forward and stabbed many of the humans in the front like a rain of arrows. It wasn't enough, though. When the metal came back to him, Raithorakh quickly said, "Activate shoulder cannon. Activate aiming reticule, activate tail blade. Activate..."

"Are you some kind of a fucking robot?! Stop with the 'activate' shit and get on with it!"

"Is that even a problem? The voice recognition responds with my voice and anything I have heard and acknowledge as friend, so..."

"You're such a hard-ass." Seraphor walked closer to him and said, "Voice recognition. Seraphor. Activate weapon defense system."

Raithorakh suddenly winced when the metallic part suddenly grew to become many more plasma guns like the one Seraphor saw in his tail. Despite of the pain and the strained voice, Seraphor still shouted, "Give no mercy. Give 'em everything you got!"

Raithorakh tried to object, but the force of the plasma guns shooting out from their barrels pushed the thunder dragon back fast enough to hit the wall in a matter of second and crumbled most of the stones over him. The onlookers started to try to run in fear, but some Parusans curious enough tried to hold. Raithorakh was shooting like crazy and the whistling sound of the laser came out from some of the parts Seraphor didn't know that started to vaporize everything they touched. When the silver red saw it was enough, he made a very satisfied roar before saying, "Deactivate!"

As the metal came to the default shape of Raithorakh's body, the thunder dragon then said, "Are you mad? Genium is not a toy! If you try to make me into you living weapon then we end our friendship right now!"

"Whoa, slow down! I just want to say that you're too complicated. Just shout automated defense system and boom! Everything becomes dust. Say, nanites are cool." "What are nanites?"

"To make it simple, single metallic particles forming a body and having a complex set of movement. Fits your cyber parts. Ah, you won't understand. Nano-technology fiction shit and all. Wait 'til Spyro sees you, Ray. Oh, by the way. Welcome back to life."

"This is also to you, Seraphor."
