Lucan was raised in a guild as an assassin at a young age along with his brother, Drake. After breaking one of the guild's laws, Lucan ran away and sought out by the guild's leader, Conway. After being saved from homelessness by a friendly Dingo named Chris. He tries to protect his new-found friends against his former family.

Inside Midna University gymnasium, Patrick points his gun toward Victor, who continues to just stand and grin at the Panda. Chris looks like he's about to collapse from all the nervousness. Victor suddenly swipes his sword toward my face, Patrick cocks the hammer of his pistol, making Victor stop his sword inches from my face. I struggle to get up, but Victor's foot is still painfully stomped on my back.

"Take your foot off the wolf," Patrick orders with a cold, unemotional voice. "I'm not gonna ask again." Victor simply smiles and releases his foot off my back. Victor walks toward the exit, his gaze completely on Patrick, until he finally leaves the court. Chris runs over to me as I try to stand, the stinging pain in my back making it hard to get to my feet. Patrick walks over to the two of us as I finally get to one knee, Patrick suddenly puts the pistol to my head.

"Patrick what are you-!" Chris yells.

"They're after you right?" Patrick asks. "And pretty damn badly at that. If they're willing to kill others to get to you, how are we supposed to be safe being around you. I don't know what Chris did to make that guy angry with him, but if giving you would save him than I will give you to them."

"You think...giving me up is gonna protect Chris from Victor," I said. "When Victor wants to kill someone he won't stop, giving me up wouldn't do a single thing."

"If you knew someone as dangerous as that guy was after you," Patrick says. "Why did you endanger the both of us!"

"Patrick wait-" Chris tries to say something, but stops when I slowly get to my feet.

"I was running away from my past," I said. "I was fed up with being a killer so I left and came to this city for escape, I shoud've of told you about Victor sooner, but I wouldn't expect them to find me so quickly, and I'd never thought Conway would go to him to bring me back."

"Patrick...are you really gonna shoot the guy that just saved my life?!" Chris asks. Patrick sighs and lowers his gun from me. Chris still looks at him, a faint sense of fear in his eyes. He tries to say something, but can't bring himself to say it.

"That guy knows where we live," Patrick says. "He'll come after us again."

"The next time he comes I'll kill him," I say, trying to walk to the exit, the pain in my back returns and I fall to the ground. Chris runs to me, putting my arm around his shoulder.

"We need to get him to a hospital!" Chris says. Patrick puts his gun back into his pocket and goes out to the exit then comes back.

"Okay, there doesn't seem to be many students walking around here," Patrick says. "My car is parked close by, let's go."

We leave the gym and head to the parking lot. Different groups of friends prowl the lot, but no one seems to notice us. Patrick opens the car door and Chris helps me into the back seat, I slump down onto my side, wince as the stinging pain continues to rack my body. As the car begins to start and we leave the school, I drift in and out of sleep.

"God damn it!" A loud booming voice screams. A young wolf peers through the slit of the his bedroom door, in the living room on the ground, shards of a plate are scattered all over the floor. A man stands in front of an older boy. The man grabs the boy by his shirt and punches him in the face.

The boy falls to the ground and begins to whimper, the man simply spits toward the boy and walks to the kitchen, grabbing a half empty bottle of liquor. The boy gets to his feet, a large bruise on his face. "Be useful and clean this shit up!" the man orders.

Fearing another punch, the boy begins to pick up the pieces of the plate. Tears begin to drip off the boy's eyes and he sniffs quietly. With the last bit of the plate put in the garbage, the boy walks over to the bedroom.

The young wolf runs away from the door and jumps into his bed and covers himself with the covers. The other young wolf opens the door and walks in. The boy sits at the side of his bed and begins to cry uncontrollably, the younger wolf just closes his eyes as he hides himself in the covers.

After awhile, the boy stops crying and the younger wolf begins to think he left. "Lucan...," the young wolf opens his eyes in surprise with the call of his name. A hand grabs Lucan's covers and slowly uncovers the young wolf.

"Drake...," is all Lucan can say. Lucan notices the large bruise on his brother's face.

"Sorry if I woke you, I just wanted to check to see if you were okay" Drake says, he suddenly realizes Lucan staring at his bruise. "Oh don't worry about this, I...I fell down and landed on a toy." Drake's obvious lie doesn't get through to Lucan and he figures out that Lucan saw what happened and immediately hugs his younger brother.

"Why did Daddy get mad at you?" Lucan asks. Drake let's go of his brother and sighs.

"Daddy has been having a bad day today," Drake said. "Don't worry, he's not mad at you."

The two young boys suddenly hear a loud banging noise coming from the living room, followed by their father yelling loudly, cussing viciously. Drake notices his younger brother shivering with fear. Drake turns his head toward the open window and then back to his young brother.

"Hey Lucan," Drake says. "You wanna go on an adventure? It'll be fun."

"Sure," Lucan says, excited to have fun with his brother. Outside, Drake jumps out the window and helps Lucan climb down. Their father bangs on the locked bedroom door, but by the time he gets it open, the brothers are long gone.

Present day, in a hospital in eastern Midna City, I wake up and slowly opens my eyes. The brightness from the hospital light hovering on the ceiling blinds my vision, but it begins to come back. I turn my head to see Chris sitting in a chair, smiling at me.

"You're awake," Chris says, relieved. "Patrick and I saw that you passed out in the back and we quickly brought you to the closest hospital. The doctor says you have a few bruised ribs and a bit of a concussion, but says that you're well enough to come home tomorrow."

"I don't think the'll be a tomorrow for me," I say. "After all the danger I put you in, I can't stay at your place."

"Don't let what Patrick said back there get to you," Chris says. "Yeah, you may be the target of some crazy mercenary group, but that doesn't change the fact that you saved my life back there. If it wasn't for you I'd be dead right now."

"Your life is still in danger if I'm around," I say.

"You said it yourself that Victor is out for me as well right?" Chris argues. "Well it turns out I have myself a pretty cool bodyguard now right."

I put my head back onto the pillow and let out a sigh. "You don't know what you're getting into," I tell him. Chris gets up from the chair and walks over to the door.

"It was inevitable for me to get into danger living in a city like this," Chris says. "Patrick is outside, I'm gonna go check up on him as well. You rest up, I gotta have my bodyguard in tip top shape."

"Don't get used to calling me bodyguard," with that, Chris leaves, giving me some alone time to think. What Victor said back there at the gym, about how Drake will be my executioner. Is it true, or was he just fucking with my head? Thinking about it is just hurting my head, so I just let out another sigh and try to go back to sleep.

On the outskirts of the city of Midna, Victor walks down a dirt road, a large grin on his face. A grin he's had since he laid eyes upon that Panda. He begins to softly giggle, then laughs loudly out of nowhere. "That Panda...I've seen that Panda before," Victor says. "Oh yes...those eyes of his...it's definitely him." Victor continues to laugh as he walks down the road back to the guild.
