#1 of Journey of the Valiant

For taking the time to read "The Journey of the Valiant", I, Felldewan, thank you kindly. This tale will be about one enslaved soul, Jenna the Wolfess, finally winning back her freedom and joining the fabled ship that saved her; the Valiant. She will also, in due time, come to fall in love with the human captain of Valiant. I know, it's going to be wonderful.

The fantasy world of this tale is Goddess Gaia's Felldew, where - for the most part - the anthro anima races live peacefully alongside the advanced, exotic civilization of humanity. But what are anima? Who is Goddess Gaia? What exactly is Felldew? Well, for those who have already read "Out of Water" thus far, you know the answers to those questions so don't worry yourself. As for those of you who have not read Out of Water, I suggest that you do so. After you've read the intro and story of the Valiant here, mind. One way or the other, please read and hopefully enjoy this high seas, cannon firing, ship crashing, storm brewing, goddess guided fantasy of mine.

As always, favs would be nice, votes would be appreciated, watchers would be excellent and reviews - no matter the rarity - would be fantastic!

Raised up from the depths of the sea by the goddess Gaia, blessed with her teachings of life, this is the world of Felldew. Here, long ago during the most ancient age, the race of "Humanity" awakened as well as became Gaia's first loyal students. What they, in turn, learned from her were many things; who they were, what they were meant to do, how they were supposed to live.

Who the humans were had many answers. As the first race she'd brought into her world of Felldew, they were to be her messengers of tomorrow, her keepers of truth, her ever eager students who would never want to stop learning how to think, speak, build, grow, know right from wrong, overcome the elements of nature and so much more.

What the humans were meant to do in the eyes of Gaia became clear in due time. They eventually became a civilization, established the differences between good from evil, discouraged murder, encouraged happiness, helped the weak as well as humbled the strong.

How were the humans supposed to live? Like the goddess herself, of course; pure, wise, caring, patient, strong and many more grand things. Yet, where they indeed grew to become the followers of Gaia, they were also meant to live with freedom; independently, spiritually and happily without any hint of malice in their hearts.

And so, many centuries passed for the world of Felldew. Every year that finished proved to be special if not beneficial for humanity in some way. Every year, Gaia observed her first people develop across Felldew into a wonderful, successful, almost industrial civilization.

Then, the many different species of "Anima" - animal yet humanoid like beings, the second awakened race - awakened throughout the world. In turn, with much joy, Gaia gave humanity - the first awakened - the task of teaching the anima everywhere what she had taught them in the beginning.

So, just as the goddess had taught mankind how to exist, mankind taught the anima all that they knew about life. Slowly yet surely, those teachings helped the anima rise from the dust, become intelligent, build their own cities, learn right from wrong and everything else required to live good if not blessed lives.

In time, Gaia became content with how her world of Felldew was running. Everywhere she looked, she only saw happiness. And thus, satisfied with her labors, having never given herself the moment to do so, the goddess decided that she needed to rest.

For the longest time, the goddess had been in need of slumber. Thus, with a content heart, after having placed humanity in charge of Felldew's well-being, she stepped back out of the picture to get a much needed sleep. However, where her intentions in giving mankind control of her world had been meant to do anything but wrong, things had gradually... worsened for the civilizations of Felldew.

And it all had started when some humans, now no longer under the stern gaze of the goddess, began to think themselves free to do whatever they pleased.

As Gaia slept, anima were soon targeted by humans corrupted by power. As the second awakened race, they were pushed around, looked down upon, even threatened by the first awakened that was mankind. In due time, corrupted beyond repair, the majority of humanity had twisted their beliefs from thinking of themselves as keepers of peace to keepers over the supposedly unworthy anima, the anthro like races that'd awakened second... not first.

Enslaving anima was where hostilities finally reached a breaking point. The remaining humans loyal to Gaia, a dying breed, lashed out against corrupted mankind by rallying the second awakened race together. Anime were taught to fight back by the loyalists as well as told that the goddess wouldn't punish them for trying to win back their freedom from the first, tyrannical awakened race.

And so, led by the good side of mankind, the abused anima started the Reckoning War against the corrupted humans attempting to enslave them to their will. As a result of the said war, the anima won their freedom in the end. However, the best of humanity barely lived through the conflict to see their goddess wake up, return to them as well as show great concern over their situation.

As a result of their loyalty to Gaia, as a reward for having remained true in heart rather than having fallen into the temptation of overpowering the anima, the surviving humans of the Reckoning were given directions from the heavens to a bountiful realm in northern Felldew where they could recover, rebuild and live knowing that they'd fought the good fight.

For hundreds of years after the end of the Reckoning to this very day, the species of humanity has grown well in the north out of sight of the anima to the south. During those said centuries, mostly having kept to themselves in their northern lands, humans have become something of a rare if not exotic sight to their anthro fellows.

Yet, every so often, being on a sort of pilgrimage to help them grow in body, mind as well as spirit before returning to their people to share their experiences, a human has appeared in the southlands. As of late, actually, many of the first awakened have shown themselves to the second awakened. And these are their stories.

This particular Felldewan story you are about to behold tells of the adventurous life of a fair wolfess. It tells of she who was made into a slave aboard a slave ship for many a year but was never broken during that time, she who was freed as well as befriended by the human crew aboard the heroic ship known as Valiant, she who searched far and wide across Onyx Bay for her long lost sister. Most of all, however, it tells of how she gained many a friend, found eternal love and went on to ultimately understand that she was stronger than even she dared to believe.
