Just random mucking around for my manga Broken Shards
The Artisan Manel Dales sits in his little tucked away and crowded workshop in Helexia near a busy commercial and industrial sector of warehouses and other workshops. The area is quiet but industrious, people can be heard working away, walking around busily, carrying goods, assembling various products of various purposes and uses, the occasional shout out to another employee can be heard every now and then. The markets are crowded most days in the city and can be heard from where Manel's workshop is situated, as a faint mix of noise from both animals and people filter through his window. The faintness has an almost calming and comforting feel as he works away. Manel has, his entire life, worked away almost lost in his own world, living his life in a pleasant quick fleeting dream, like the fools in fairy tale stories, which he is fond of reading often. He loved his life as it was and he wouldn't change it for anything, he's lived in Helexia almost all his life, except for his early childhood. His workshop isn't as renowned as the more famous of workshops around the city or even the entire region but it attracts enough attention to keep it where it is. He primarily concerns himself with his art and crafts, he is more of a 'Jack of all Trades but a Master of None' fellow, he doesn't sweat over things like boredom due to talent. He is content with whatever he makes and sells to a customer, taking happiness in making and giving away what he's made. A side interest of his lies in the study magic, he has acquired a few dozen books and rare magical items from small second hand junk stores across neighboring towns and in the city. Manel experiments some days with the magic from his books, guided by them he's learnt to enchant little items, mostly things like rings, and there were a few magic enchantments that would give him a little further delight in the secret knowledge that what people brought from him would give some little extra bonus on the side in their everyday lives. He has learnt other magic besides the enchantments for rings and products, he's learnt some magic to animate a broom to clean every day at a certain hour, a lot of his cleaning is now magic run, he's lazy when it comes to cleaning, but not curiousity.
