Beneath the mountains, far underground, there was a cave. None were to enter, unless they no longer valued their life, for any that would enter, would never come out. For many centuries, this was undisputed. Many tried, and none were successful. So the cave was left unguarded, because all who were in the forest were taught this lesson throughout their life. Everyone knew about it, and it was never forgotten.

Rumors told of what was inside the cave, many believed that there were monsters. Others thought there were treasures beyond comprehension, and still others thought it was empty, save for those who were stupid enough to wander in. One of these rumors is what started the belief of giants living in the mountains. Well, that and some odd-ones-out have claimed they've seen the giants.

Guess who believed that one.

"Who's ready for a wake up call?" a voice said cheerily from beyond view. The nameless creature lifted his head slowly while his eyes adjusted to the dim lighting of what seemed to be a different cave than he passed out in. "Hurry up or you'll be dragged to your feet." the voice said in a stern tone. The voice was definitely female, but where it was coming from..."NOW!" the nameless creature was up on all fours instantly. "Alright, now that waking up is no longer part of the problem, I think it's time for you to take a small walk. Turn to your left a bit. There should be a small rock. Pick it up." the nameless creature did so, with a little confusion since he did just wake. "Good. Now, if you turn around a small hole should be in the wall. The hole is probably a few feet above your head." the nameless creature turned around and headed toward the wall. "Take the rock with you." the voice said, sounding a little annoyed. The nameless creature looked back. Sure enough, there was the rock he had in his paw seconds before, laying right where he dropped it.

'Whoops', he thought to himself. He hurried, not wanting to find out what would happen when the voice was angry, or rather, the one the voice belonged to. "Put the rock in the hole. This should get you warmed up." The nameless creature looked up. He could see the hole.

"This should be easy." he said to himself. He held the rock in his paw, and jumped, saw the hole a few inches from the rock he was trying to put in it, and fell. "Guess I've been sleeping longer than I thought." he muttered to himself. He got back up, shook the dust off of himself, and tried again. Same result, but he landed on one of his paws instead of none. He got back up and tried again. He tried throwing the rock into the hole. He landed before the rock, and consequently, the rock came down and landed on his head. "Ow!" he complained, seeming a little out of it. He could hear something that sounded like laughing, but muffled. He was a little upset now, and tried again. This time he was even closer to the hole, which only angered him more when he fell, again, flat on his face. He could hear the noise getting louder. He was getting pretty upset, and was just about to jump again, when the laughing burst out with no restraints. "What is so funny?" the nameless creature shouted in annoyance.

"I can't keep watching you without laughing. You try again and again, only to fail. You know you can't get it, and the sooner you figure that out the sooner we can begin." said the voice with aftershocks of laughter still in her voice.

"Begin what?"

"Exactly," the tone in her voice changed to a more seductive sound, "What can you do in a cave, all by yourself?"

"But I'm not all alone. You're here. I just can't see you."

"Would you like to?"

"W...wh...what? N..no, I don't think I do." he blurted out.

"But I want you to see me. Maybe then we can..." she paused for a moment, "Introduce, ourselves." her voice was getting more and more seductive.

"Listen, I'm ten years old, I still don't know anything about what I can do. I don't even have a name." even as he was saying this, a figure was slowly fading into the corner on the opposite side of the room.

"Ten years old and still no name? I guess I'll have to change that. But, beside the point, what I have in mind requires no names." her voice was no longer coming from everywhere, but instead was now concentrated in the corner behind the nameless creature. He slowly turned his head toward her, and finally when he could see just enough of her to see what she was, she disappeared. The nameless creature started moving toward the corner, and about halfway through, he was suddenly tackled to the ground. "You're it!" she yelled as she pawed him and quickly backed away. The nameless creature jumped to his feet and looked at his attacker. He had only imagined her as a floating head, but now he could see she was much more than that.

"What are you?" he asked, still confused. He had seen lizards that resembled something like her, but none of them this big.

"I'm a dragon. Duh. What did you think I was?" she answered and questioned, forgetting completely about her ideas.

"I don't... Wait, what's a dragon?"

She looked dumbfounded. "You don't know what a dragon is?" the nameless creature shook his head. "This is going to be much harder than I thought." she mumbled to herself.

"Excuse me?"

"Nothing, nothing at all." She said sarcastically

"Can you explain that, please?"

She sighed. "You're trying to tell me you don't know your own species?"

He looked over her features a few times. She had black scales with a shade of midnight blue around the bottom of her neck and chin, but it oddly cut off close to where it met the shoulders. Her large irises were a piercing yellow with narrow pupils. Her head was like an iguana's, but without the excess neck skin, and with smoother, more feminine features. Both of the horns on the back of her skull forked horizontally. Her upturned paw, signaling confusion, had four toes, with what looked like an opposable thumb. He looked at her other paws. The other front paw had an opposable thumb as well, but the back two had the "normal" configuration with pads, and all had claws. "I look nothing like you."

She burst out laughing again. "Really? Because from where I'm standing, you look a lot like me."

"No I don't. I have fur. See?" He lifted his front right leg and looked at it. His entire leg had red scales running down it. Actually, his whole body had red scales, except for the tip of his tail, which had black streaks here and there. No fur.

"Tell me when you're done gaping at yourself. I need to talk to you."

"About what?"

"About why you say you have fur when you have none."

"I don't know what's going on."

"Obviously. You probably just have memory loss. Do you remember where you live?"

"Yeah, but I couldn't tell you how to get there from here."

"That's no problem. This is just a recovery area. It's an exercise facility, mainly. Although there is usually some stuff in here."

"What about that rock and the hole?"

She burst out laughing, yet again, "Are you kidding? That was just a joke! You still haven't figured that out? Besides, I didn't think you'd actually try it." The nameless creature shot her an "it's-not-funny" look. "Hey, hey, I didn't mean any harm. But I needed to wake you up, and that sure did the trick!" she snickered a little, remembering when the rock had landed on his head.

"Is there a way out of here?"

"Of course there is. We just need to get that rock into the hole." The nameless creature looked up to the hole, then back at the dragon with a desperate look. She nodded, and he then, walked over to the rock, picked it up, and headed toward the hole. He stood beneath the accursed hole once more. He looked back toward the dragon, and she nodded again. He looked back up to the hole, crouched down as low as he could, and mustering up all of his strength, he jumped. He soared through the air, going higher and higher, until the edge of the rock was resting on the edge of the hole. He let go, and as he fell, he saw the rock wobble a bit and settle. For the instant he was falling, he was happy that he had finally done it. But as he fell, he suddenly realized he was not going to land on his feet. He hit the ground hard; shaking the wall just enough to move the rock he had just placed and it fell right on top of his skull.

He stood up slowly, tensing with anger, ready to burst. "FUCK THIS!" he yelled and stormed to the other side of the room.

The female dragon stood and walked over to the wall, a small distance from the hole and said, "I don't suppose now would be a good time to tell you there's a staircase."

'What's a staircase?' he thought to himself, and as he looked over and saw the female slowly rising, he figured it out. "You mean there was an easy way?"

"Well, I wouldn't say easy," she was definitely holding back a lot of laughter, and her voice showed it, "It gets narrow at some points!"
