Chapter 10

During that same night Dr. James Wolfington was headed over to the Yiggow University Clubhouse. He wasn't told much only that Dean Novack and his assistant Gene Nerdly wanted to see him. He got a phone call around three o clock from Nerdly to come to the clubhouse to discuss something important.

Dr. Wolfington never took secrecy well, he thought it was a complete waste of time. But he knew he'd be a fool to refuse a request from Dean Novack. He climbed the steps to the clubhouse, he entered the door, the clubhouse was furnished for comfort. It had a bar over in the far corner, a games room for teachers and students, there was a lounge with beautiful black upholstery sofas and a huge eighty inch plasma screen TV. Then there was the pavilion room area where both the teachers and students could host parties if they wanted to.

Dr. Wolfington made his way over to the bar, he slapped his wolf hand down on the surface. His yellow eyes looked to he bartender he was a huge stocky black pitbull wearing a red tuxedo.

"What'll it be, mack!" said the pitbull to the wolf who was cleaning a glass.

Dr. Wolfington started to smirk "Gingerale, on smooth!"

The pitbull raised an eyebrow, "There's only one creature who would order a Gingerale?" The pitbull turned to see the wolf standing there at the bar smiling. "Dr. James Wolfington...it has been a while hasn't?"

"That it has," said Dr. Wolfington shaking the pitbull's hand. "How've you been Max?"

Max chuckled in delight, "Oh I've been doing good, business here has been booming this year." The pitbull pointed at a picture of a bald eagle over in the lounge. "And I owe it all to that creature right there Dean Novack!"

Dr. Wolfington looked at the picture with disdain he didn't like Dean Novack that much, sure he was the pride of the land as his kind always was. But the wolf knew a thing or two about Dean Novack. He knew he was a politician and a eagle who would bend the rules just to make sure he got what he wanted. Dean Novack was also the type of creature who would cast anyone out who didn't live up to his standards. Dr. Wolfington sighed as the pitbull gave him his Gingerale.

Max looked at the wolf concerned. "Hey man something bugging ya, you don't look to happy?"

"It's just a lot of things, Max..." sighed Dr. Wolfington.

"Like what?"

Dr. Wolfington rolled his eyes at the pitbull. "Like how Dean Novack runs the college, how he just places everything with money and greed. It's this place and how it is conducted!" Dr. Wolfington raises a sharp finger, "Have you ever noticed how there are more teachers in here than students?"

"Well, no I really haven't?" said Max looking around the room. "I thought this place was for adults and teachers anyway, not students."

Dr. Wolfington scratched his mane looking quizzically at the pitbull. "See that's the problem right there...this place just isn't for us." The wolf gestured to the entire building. "This place should just be for us, as well as the students." Dr. Wolfington started taking deep breaths. "Do you understand what I am saying Max?"

Max gave a confused look to the wolf. "Well yes, but given the current world problems..."

Dr. Wolfington, blew a raspberry with his tongue he started slobbering all over the counter. The pitbull grabbed a cloth and quickly cleaned up after him. "The world and all it's problems! You know, we wouldn't have is much problems if the Southern Borders media would quit blowing the whole war out of proportion!"

Max looked glumly at the wolf. "Well, none of us would be in this awful mess James, if they didn't attack us first.

Dr. Wolfington started to cringe his long snout, anger shown on his face. "Look, no disrespect to you Max...but if this country didn't take control of all food, supplies, and medicine..." A slight smirk came on Dr. Wolfington's face. "Well, to be frank if this country didn't force us to pay so much tax...then maybe..."

Max huffed out a major sigh looking sadly at the wolf. "You can't blame the Southern Borders for what's happening in you're area of the country..."

Dr. Wolfington put up a hand to stop the pitbull. "Max, I know what you're saying and don't get me wrong I'm grateful for everything I've gotten in this part of the county..." Dr. Wolfington tensed up, his fur standing on edge. "It's just that I think there's more of personal gain from the South here."

The wolf gulped the last of his Gingerale he felt it burn down his throat. It felt much like his desire to burn everything this part of the country had to offer. But he knew that would be the wrong thing to do. It would only be Dr. Wolfington's own personal vengeance to end the prejudice against him and his fellow creatures in the Northern Borders. But Dr. Wolfington growled in disgust for how he has been treated in this part of the country for the last ten years.

Both the pitbull and the wolf sat there in silence, suddenly a bulky bald eagle wearing a three piece brown suit came through the door. He had the look of arrogant dignity about him. His yellow eyes scanned over the clubhouse room intently as if he was looking for any creature that would tarnish his image. Dean Novack always had to strut his stuff whenever he got the chance. Dean Novack after scanning the clubhouse room spotted Dr. Wolfington. He smirked before walking over to the wolf. Following Dean Novack was a chipmunk named Mr. Nerdly. He had the typical brown color with black and white stripe going down his back. Although it was hidden by his nice blue suit with an apple berry tie. Nerdly was always one for listing off everything he owned just to prove he was better than others. He was short an stubby, also quite thin. He always carried three color coated pens in his front coat pocket. His hair was combed over in a fifties fashion with gel, he always wore thick black eye glasses. He really lived up to his name Nerdly, it fit the moniker for him being a nerd.

Max looked up in surprise seeing the bald eagle and chipmunk coming toward him and Dr. Wolfington. "James," grunted Max, "They're here."

Dr. Wolfington looked up at the pitbull then behind him. He saw Dean Novack and Mr. Nerdly coming towards the bar. "Oh great, the politicians are here."

Dean Novack and Mr. Nerdly came up to the bar, they pulled two stools out and sat between the wolf. Dean Novack motioned to Max. "Get me some Gin.

Max looked over at the chipmunk, "I'll take a Raspberry Daiquiri."

Dr. Wolfington rolled his eyes he would give anything to be anywhere else. The eagle looked over at Dr. Wolfington with a sly smile as the bartender handed him his Gin. "And here I was thinking you weren't going to come."

"I wasn't going too." said Dr. Wolfington staring blankly ahead.

"What changed your mind?" asked the eagle curiously.

Dr. Wolfington chuckled running his hands through his gray mane. "I guess it's my own foolish curiosity about you that made me come."

"Oh really," Dean Novack was surprised at the answer, "But you're here nonetheless and I'm going to need you to listen to me."

"Don't worry," chuckled the wolf with a smile. "I'll keep an opened mind."

"That's good," said the eagle nodding. "Mr. Nerdly show him the pictures."

Mr. Nerdly opened and dug through his briefcase looking for the pictures. He took out three, he slid them across the table to the wolf who glanced at them. "These pictures are of three students that you seem to know rather well, Dr. Wolfington.

"I would like to call them three trouble makers." smirked Dean Novack at the wolf.

Dr. Wolfington looked at the pictures closely and he saw that it was a picture of a raccoon, a lizard, and a wolf. His eyes got even wider when he saw it was Cymaenie, Berkeley, and Douglas. He looked up puzzled at the eagle and chipmunk. "What's this all about?"

"Three students who have received multiple complaints from teachers saying there views are out of order." said Nerdly.

"Trouble makers James," Dean Novack chuckled his feathers bristled with excitement. "Those three students do things outside the confines of school law." The eagle raised a feathered eyebrow, "It's not good for business."

The chipmunk flipped through the files on Cymaenie, Douglas, and Berkeley furiously. "There also seems to be a problem not only with their views, but as citizens of The Southern Borders."

Dr. Wolfington waved off the information, "What you mean, just standing out, I don't see a problem with that."

Dean Novack started counting on his feathered fingers, "Well, lets see here...Cymaenie Darkstone...he's been pegged for stealing things from other people all around the neighborhood."

"Who hasn't stole something here or there." shrugged the wolf.

"Then there's Douglas Wonder who as had a thing for males." said Nerdly adjusting his glasses. "We also believe that Wonder has tried to make several advancements toward other male creatures."

Dr. Wolfington drummed his fingers across the counter. "So what's wrong with being gay? It's not like Douglas is meaning any of you guys harm."

"Let's not forget," said Dean Novack raising a feathered finger, "That the lizard Berkeley Stark has family in the Northern Borders Army!"

Dr. Wolfington gave the Eagle a look of disdain. "So what if Berkeley has family in the Northern Borders Army? How does that change what he's doing here?"

Mr. Nerdly removed his glasses, looking straight into the eyes of the wolf. "Look, what we're trying to say here James is that these creatures influence on the Yiggow campus has become quite alarming."

Dr. Wolfington looked confused at the chipmunk. "Alarming? In what way?"

Dean Novack pursed his beak before speaking. "You know how this university is with weird influences James. We don't look to kindly upon anyone who could damage the university." The eagle started fiddling with his hands, "And unfortunately Darkstone, Wonder, and Stark we think could damage this university."

Dr. Wolfington looked at the eagle and chipmunk with a happy smile. "You know are you guys that image conscious's? Because I have never heard so much bullshit in my life!"

Dean Novack raised his hands to calm the wolf, "Please just try to understand what we're getting at James."

Dr. Wolfington pointed a finger at the eagle, "Oh I know exactly what your getting at. Your saying that if anyone tarnishes your supposed perfect reputation at this school, they should be kicked out immediately!"

"Well, they are listed as the top three troublesome students." said Mr. Nerdly flipping through the files.

"But Gene," said the wolf pleadingly "You know that's unfair, you know just as well as anybody that any student should be given a chance here at Yiggow University."

"We have no control over that James." reassured Dean Novak "According to the board anyone who could be a bad influence at this university has to be removed." The eagle had let out a huge sigh. "Do you understand?"

The wolf stared right into Dean Novack's eyes. "I understand, I understand perfectly!" Dr. Wolfington enraged got up from his chair at the bar. "I understand that you two only care about image and nothing else!"

Dr. Wolfington got up from the bar and walked over to the main entrance, both Dean Novack and Mr. Nerdly didn't say anything. They just stared at the wolf leaving the building. Dr, Wolfington opened the door and was half way out until he turned to the chipmunk and the eagle.

"You guys are what politicians are made off...no wonder the Southern Borders are failing." With that the wolf walked out the door.
