#1 of Mechanical Overturn

Not my first time writing something, but do let me know if there's anything wrong. I'm going to be working on a ton of stuff before posting the first chapter of this story. Anyways, short prologue is short. I'll do my best to make the other chapters better.

Edit: Errors... should write, wait a day, and proof read these. :T

Edit #2: Might take some more time to plan this out. Was going to wing it for most things but... yeah.

Long ago, there was a world. It was big and vast, seemingly endless oceans stretching for miles from one point of land to the next. Many people lived there, and along side the natural world there existed a race of beings, humans. There were many different kinds of humans. Yet those differences seemed to be their downfall. Whether it was difference in appearance, difference in personality, or difference in beliefs, they always seemed to have a reason to fight. However, one day, before humanity prepared to cast itself into destruction, a promise was made.

Two humans, sitting at the top of a hill, the night before the madness begins. One was a blond female wearing while clothing and her green eyes showed the calmness in her mind, or lack of emotion. The other was a fairly young boy, hardly older then three years old, sat in her lap, oblivious to the coming threat.

"So what did you want to talk about, Lady?", asked the boy, looking up at the female.

The blonde female looked down at the boy." There's something I needed to ask of you.", she told him." It's a matter in which I can not settle on my own."

The boy gave her a confused look." What did you want to ask?", he asked her." Is it important?" It is.", she told him." You see..." She leaned over and whispered something into the boy's ear as he listened." I can't do it on my own. So I'll need help from someone like yourself. In other words, I'd like to propose a contract between you and me."

The boy looked even more confused." Con...tract...", he said, trying to put together the word, but it made no sense to him no matter how hard he thought so he gave up." I don't know what that means.", he said in a disappointing tone." Is it like a promise?", he asked the female." Yes.", she nodded." But are you willing to comply with it?", she asked in return.

"Stop saying big words.", he said, annoyed." Sorry. What I mean is, will you really help me?", she asked." Of course!", he replied with a smile on his face." In my story books, whenever you can't do something alone, you work together. Do that, and anything is possible!", he said, his eyes glowing with the innocence of youth, untouched by the evils and hardships of the world.

The female smiled." Very well then.", she started to get up, but the boy grabbed her and stopped her." Wait!", he shouted, holding her wrist. The female looked back at the child, confused." We need to pinky promise.", he said, letting go and extending his pinky." That way, we can never break our promise. Never ever ever!", he told her. The female smiled lightly." Very well then.", she said as she extended her pinky and they interlocked one another." I promise to help you, no matter what, and to the very end!", the boy said proudly." And I promise to hold up my end of the deal as well.", the female said.

They let go after a second." Shouldn't you get back home?" The female asked." It's suppose to be dangerous around here." Yeah. Daddy's probably worried." The boy said as he turned around." Bye lady!" He waved behind him as the female looked at him leaving for awhile." Be ready, child of fate." She said as he watched him leave." For I do not know what the future will bring." She said, as she finally took her leave.

The child returned to his house, opened the door and walked in." Dad, I'm back!" He called out, but it only echoed through the house." Dad?" He wondered, closing the door and looking around." Hello? Anyone there?" He asked as he kept walking. He stopped at the sound of something falling over." Dad?" He wondered as he slowly approached where the sound came from. He looked into a room full of books, one of them seem to have fallen.

He walked over and picked it up." I wonder where dad is." He thought aloud as he placed the book back." He's been pretty busy." He sighed as he walked to the kitchen in search of something to drink." It's still pretty quiet." He said as he climbed up the counter for a soda." I wonder what's going on." He climbed down and opened the fizzy drink and proceeded to consume it.

Suddenly, a sharp feeling hit his neck, then a rush of relaxation as he fell to the ground, lemon-lime soda hitting the ground and draining from the can. A man with black hair walked in, along with two others dressed in black walked into the room." Is this the one?" One of the asked." Yes." The black-haired man answered." Is everything ready?" Affirmative. The mission is set to go. It's time to get going." The black-haired man picked up the unconscious child." It's going to be alright." He said to him." We're going to be just fine." He said calmly as he carried him out of the house.

From a distance, the blonde female watch it all unfold. She still held the same somewhat blank expression on her face." So that's what his plan is." She said." Guess I'll have to hold out for awhile longer." He looked at the setting sun." Child of fate, I foresee a dangerous trial awaiting you." She said, seemingly to herself." Our contract will only do so much, be prepared."

The promised forged on that day will forever change the destinies of countless lives, many entities, and their very existences itself. Little did that boy know, that there was already a fight millennias old occurring at that very time. The promise he had made will force him to unknowingly bare the weight of countless lives. Yet with such an uncertain future, only time will tell if the path he chose will save us all. Only time will tell...
