#1 of Jected

This is my very first submission EVER on any furry website. Please be gentle.

One night, I had a sudden thought of a story I wanted to write, and the universe I thought would be interesting to write it in came later. I attempted to direct it, but give the reader freedom of imagination. As to how much I succeeded, I've yet to find out.

"Download Complete" blinked in front of Honey's field of vision. The T.V. in the living room he could hear clear as day. He walked over, hooves clapping on the hardwood floor, and knelt down in front of the flat-screen television.

Playing on the screen was a movie that had first been released in the year 2007. The movie was based in a post-apocalyptic world where people had turned into zombie-esque creatures, and one survivor in New York City, immune to all versions of the virus that caused the chaos, who lived alone with his K9 companion, discovered a cure for the infection before his untimely departure.

Honey knew this movie well. In the last couple years, classic pictures like this were being reproduced and re-mastered to fit 3D visual projectors. It was a movie that was once again popular because people were able to find similarities between the subject matter and the lives they now lived. Honey gave a smirk and pressed a button on the side of the television and the screen went dark. He could have decided to sit and watch the movie while he waited, but he knew the wait wouldn't be much longer.

Honey stood, swiping a hand through his mane. As he turned towards the hallway, his ear flicked indicating something else he was hearing - water. More precisely, it sounded like the shower was running. He smiled and closed his eyes imagining what he would find if he walked in to what some may call a water-closet.

Then, Honey realized something obvious. He was still the only one logged in to the room. There was no alert that anyone had signed on and loaded them-self into this *ject. 'Why is there water running' he thought. Then again, why had the T.V. been on?

Honey decided he would check the bathroom on the way to his more important destination - the bedroom. He took a few steps toward the stairwell and he stopped at the archway to the kitchen to peek in to be sure no one was around. The only thing he saw out of the ordinary was an unopened box of macaroni next to the stove with a pot fit to boil it in. Seeing the macaroni reminded him he was hungry. But not necessarily for food, though he was, but hungry for something more... intriguing.

He continued on up the stairs. Though jects usually produced enough fake light to remove the need of switches, in this particular instance Honey had to flip a small switch on his way up. With light now filling the entirety of the hallway and stairwell, he was able to see the framed generic stock images on the walls and the velvety red coloring of the carpeted steps. His hooves no longer clip-clopped, that was good. If there was anyone there, they wouldn't be able to hear him.

Once he made his way to the top of the stairs, he strode up to the bathroom door and gently pushed it ajar. In his immediate line of sight he could see the bathroom mirror reflecting a bigger portion of the rest of the bathroom.

The bathroom seemed large; larger than the average bathroom, at least. Under the mirror was the sink, and in the mirror he could the opposite wall and toilet. 'The shower must be opposite the door,' he deduced.

Honey shifted his position in front of the door to get a better look through to the other side of the room. 'There is no steam,' he noticed. That graphic may have been turned off. Or the water was just cold. He looked at the shower curtain and realized it was clear. On the other side of the curtain he could clearly see the shower hand rail and the water spraying into the tub. Since it was obvious no one was there, he decided to leave it be. Since it wasn't real, there was no reason to have to save the water. He pulled the door closed, backed away, and turned in the direction of the bedroom.

Another few steps and the handle of the bedroom door was in Honey's grasp. He closed his eyes imagining what he would find on the other side, and smiled. With a gentle twist of the door knob, he pushed the door open. And what he found on the queen sized bed and dull set of pink sheets, laying in all-natural bestial glory, was the cutest lump of fur he had been waiting for all evening.
