_ *ding, dong*... ... *ding, dong*... ... ... "Do you think he's still home?" "Well, he's gotta be. I mean, he's hositng this big party for his book, why would he leave?" ... ... *ding, dong*... ... ..._

"Coming! Wait, please!" a voice said on the other side of the door.

The door swung open, and their favorite German Shepard was in the doorway with a bright smile, he look over his members, chuckling, "It feels so good to see you all again...!" he moved out of the doorway so everybody could move inside, he counted them all up, surprising himself that he recognized everyone, as they all seemed so different now.

He saw Connor, the white wolf, wearing his classic red jacket and black jeans, he smiles as the wolf came over to Nick and gave him a big hug, "It's so good to see you again, Nick! Oh gosh!" he sighed, resting his paws onto his shoulders, "You look so different!"

"Say that to yourself!" he said back, "You've got a scar on your cheek! What happened?"

Connor whimpered softly, resting a paw onto his cheek, "It's nothing, really. Just an accident I tried to avoid. I'll tell you about it another time." as he walked off a bit, seeming in wonder about what he had just said. Nick was now curious about this scar, it was like he couldn't get it out of his head.

He was then encountered by Lisa, a casual female blue jay, hugged him as Nick hugged back, Lisa could only look into his eyes, "Wow, Nick! You finally got a book published, huh? We all knew this day would come!"

Nick nodded his head, "I've been practicing. I literally have a closet full of projects and sketches for books I wanted to get published. This one in particular, I just knew would make it. And now it's destined to be a best seller."

Lisa smiled, "I'm excited to read it!" as she moved out of the way, the next friend of Nick's was Fred, a bear, with a round gut, which Nick also had a bit of a crush on, he hugged him, feeling his soft gut squeeze upon his softer one, Jack make a bold laugh, "It's good to see you again, buddy!"

Nick chuckled, hugging back, "You, too!" he let go from the hug, released, he pat Fred's fat gut, "You are still nice and fat, aren't you?"

Jack laughed, rubbing a paw onto it, "Yeah, I am! I don't know about losing it. I'm not one to work out!" he laughed, walking away, for the final friend to move up.

Nick walked up to him, sighing, "Well, here we are."

George chuckled, looking into his eyes, smiling brightly, he lunged at him and hugged him tight, sighing, "Here we are!"

Nick hugged him back, "I missed you all so much... I'm so glad I threw this party already."

The two let go, after a longer amount of hugging, they chuckled, and Nick went up front to his new crowd childhood friends, "Well, I never actually thought this day would come. Not the day of us meeting together, this was going to happen eventually. But the fact that Nick, the man that loves books, finally published his book." everyone nodded their heads. Nick had tried to hard to make the perfect book, and he finally hit the right spot with this one. Nobody here had even read it yet, but the reviews were high.

Nick nodded back, "So, we shall all celebrate! Celebrate for literature,"

he walked over to the kitchen and pulled out a tray of drinks,

",and friendship. Way overdue friendship."

Everyone took a drink, gathered into a circle, and Jack raised a glass, "To Nick! For taking the time to set up this glorious party, and rebound us all together for one more party, and for getting what will be his best piece of literature, published, into the public, and becomes a bestseller in the market. To Nick, for being our best friend, making this party,"

and at that moment, Nick and George looked at each other,

"for we all surely hope, as this is our first in our adulthood,"

and they had a strange feeling at the same time, that tonight was going to be fantastic,

"that this won't be our last."

Everyone touched glasses, "Cheers!"
