Tyro's POV

I wasn't sure what to make of Nolan's story. I wasn't sure to believe him,or to call him crazy. The next morning I woke to the sun coming in through my window. Adelind was curled against my stomach with a light snore and the kids were sleeping on top of each other in the corner.

"Morning my love",Adelind said softly,"did you sleep okay?"

"Better than I have been",I replied nuzzling her. Adelind returned my nuzzle.

"What did you think of Nolan's story?" She asked looking at me with curious eyes.

I huffed,"Part of me believes everything he said",I replied,"part me wants to call him nuts."

Adelind looked at me and stood.

"Let's go eat",she said.

We woke the kids,who rose with yawns and then walked down to the mess hall,where we found the others already gathered. We went and lay in our spots and waited for the food. As I lay in wait,Taro turned to me.

"You okay Tyro?",he asked,"looking a little worried."

"I just have a lot on my mind right now",I answered,"I'll be fine."

"Believe me",Taro said smiling,"I've been in your exact spot,when I found out my parents died,I was a mess for months,and then Sam died..."

"Whose Sam Dad?" Shadow asked.

"He was my older brother",Taro said,"he was killed by a sniper in Baghdad."

"Years before you were born."

Taro was cut off as the cooks brought us our food and we began to eat. Shortly after breakfast,we were called into the command tent.

"Guys",Nolan said,"we found the fucker."

I felt my heart stop,"you found Wei?" I asked.

"Yes Tyro,we found him".

"Where is he?" I growled,"I want some payback."

Nolan pulled up a hologram.

"This is an old Russian coal mine." Nolan began. Our AC-130 and Predator drone over the area,as well as spies,have confirmed this to be Wei's location." "The area is under heavy guard. The drone counted at least 500 armed personnel,12 Bradley fighting vechiles and seven AA-87 Apache Longbow Attack Helicopters."

"What's the best way into the mine?" I asked.

'The entrance at the top." Nolan pulled up a hologram showing two very large steel doors. "These are military grade 440 Titanium blast doors with mini gun emplacements right above them." "Tyro"Nolan said,"I have something that will make easy work of the doors and the emplacement,come by the armory to get it later,Shadow,I have something for you to."

"Yes sir",Shadow and I replied in unison.

"You will fly to the compound at 30,000 feet in specialized V-22's under the cover of night",Nolan continued,"once you are over the AO,you will execute Halo jumps and then fly into the compound." "Your mission is to then execute a kill/capture order on Priority Nexus Target Lung Wei."

"Sir yes sir",we replied in unison.

"Guys",Nolan said looking up at us,"this is the single most important mission you will ever work,there is zero room for error."

"Believe me"I growled,"there will be no error,one way or another,Wei doesn't leave that mine alive."

"When do we go?" Nina asked.

"Twelve hours",Nolan said,"ready your equipment and be at the landing pad by then,dismissed."

With that,we turned and left the command tent. The others went for the barracks,while Shadow and I walked down to the armory. When we got there,we sat on our haunches and waited for Nolan.

"What do you think he has for us?" Shadow asked looking to me.

"I don't know",I said wrapping my tail around my leg.

After a few more minutes of waiting,Nolan walked in.

"Come back here guys",Nolan said leading us into a back room. In the room,there was a table.

On the table sat two weapons vests,a 105 and a 20 mill. They weren't normal vests though. Both had sliver coils wrapped around the barrel and each had a muzzle brake like none I'd ever seen. The weapons had normal feeding devices,but what interested me the most was that there was no place to eject spent cartridges. Shadow glanced at me and I shrugged.

"What are these?" He asked.

"They are rail guns",Nolan replied.

'What the hell's a rail gun?" Shadow asked.

"A rail gun is a weapon that uses a magnetic charge to propel a depleted uranium rod down the barrel and out." Nolan replied. "Each coil",Nolan continued,"is a magnet." When you fire the weapon,a charge is sent from the weaponsbattery to the coil. The charge actuates the coil and draws the round to that coil. It then switches off and the next one comes on,pulling the round further down the barrel. And all this happens in less than a nano second,the round leaves the barrel at five miles a second."

Shadow and I whistled in unison. "That's freaking fast",Shadow said.

"Yeah",Nolan replied,"the 20 mil will stop an Abrams Main Battle Tank in it's tracks,while the 105 is capable of knocking over a small skyscraper." "These vests are equipped with German Mg-42 Mk II's,use them as oposed to the rail guns to deal with infantry and any dragons you may happen across."

For the first time,I noticed the belt leading into the 42 was sporting a nasty DK version of the German 7.92x56 Mauser round. Nolan leaned back against the wall.

"Guys,come back alive."

"We will sir",I said taking the vest off the table.

Shadow quickly took his vest in his mouth and we walked back to the barracks. Once we got there,I went to my room and quickly transferred my gear between my vests and then lay beside Adelind.

"What did Nolan want?" She asked leaning on me and laying her head on my paws.

"We found Wei",I said in a whisper.

Adelind looked into my eyes,her soft blue eyes were wide.

"You found him?",She asked in a shock.

"He's hiding in a coal mine,with no way out."

"When do you guys go?" She asked laying her head back on my paws.

"Eleven hours",I replied laying my head on her's.

"I love you Tyro",Adelind said.

"I love you too Adelind",I said licking her. Soon after,I caved and fell asleep.

It was hours later when Shadow came to get me.

"Tyro",he said nudging me awake.

I opened my eyes to see he and Nina standing there in full combat gear.

"We got to go,the other teams are already lifting off."

"Okay",I said,"gimme ten minutes."

Shadow nodded his reply and left the room. I nudged Adelind awake.

'It's time",I said.

We both stood,quickly showered off and then helped each other into our gear. We left the barracks and found the kids in the front,dressed in their gear red faced,sweating and panting.

"What have you kids been doing I asked lowering my head down to them.

"Playing tag",Tyson panted.

'Who won?" I asked smiling.

"Ace",Helix said collapsing onto her stomach.

"Kids",I said gathering them all up,"Mom and Dad have to go do a job,promise me you'll behave for Nesenth?"

"Yes Dad",They replied still gasping for air.

"Good",I said pulling them all close to me,"I promise we'll be back soon."

I turned to Adelind,"Walk them down to the hatchery and I'll meet you at the V-22."

Adelind pilled all of the kids onto her back and walked them down to the hatchery while I went to the V-22. The entire base was bustling as I went for the landing pad. The base lights were on and the lights of the aircraft on the runway made it seem almost like day time. As I approached the runway,I noticed several F-16s,four B-52 Stealth Bombers and a jet black AC-130 Angel of Death sitting on the runway as their crews and pilots hastily boarded them. A cool thing was that the crew of the AC-130 were all Anthro dragons. I had to stop at the edge of the runway as the AC-130 spun up it's engines and roared into the night sky,flashing white,red and blue as it lifted into the air. Once it was well clear,the humans let me across and I met Adelind at the V-22. She was talking with Nina and Ator,but I couldn't make out what they were saying.

"Bout time",Shadow called over the RPM of the High Altitude V-22,"you ready to go?"

"I'd be lying if I said no!" I shouted over the engines.

Shadow patted me on my back,"Let's do this!" He shouted smiling as we bored the V-22.

As we were about to lift off,Toro,Nolan and Alex joined us.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Shadow asked turning to Toro.

"The bastard killed my family",Toro said,"why do you think I'm here?"

"I can guess why your here",I said glancing at Nolan,"but why are you here Alex?"

"I'm here to support my Dad and make sure he dosen't get himself killed." Alex replied sitting in a seat next to Nolan.

Toro found a place to lay as Shadow and I lay with our mates as the V-22 gained altitude.

"I can't wait to get my claws around Wei's throat",Toro growled,"bastard can't run far enough after what he's done to me."

"You'll get your shot",Shadow said,"after Tyro get's his."

"I better",Toro growled,"that's all I can say."

'Wei's hurt all of us Toro",I said,"some more than others,he's gonna get what's coming to him."

Toro looked at me,sighed and then placed his head between his paws,falling asleep shortly afterwords,crying in his dreams.

"Tyro"Shadow asked looking to me,"what happened to him?"

I shook my head,"He lost his squad,mate,eggs and two month old daughter and then survived the firing squad,all in the same week."

"Damn",Shadow said in a whisper.

"Yeah",I replied placing my head between my paws.

Adelind leaned on me as the V-22 continued to climb. A few minutes later,I fell asleep. I was stirred about three or so hours later by Hudson,who was wearing a wing suit.

"Wake the others Tyro",he said. I yawned a bit and stood.

"All right listen up everyone,I said loudly,causing the others to wake with yawns. They all looked at me with well rested eyes.

"Our objective here is simple,execute kill capture order on Priority Nexus Target Lung Wei.

"I vote kill",Toro said.

"My vote goes to kill",Sozenn said.

"Let's kill the bitch",Shadow said.

"Kill",Nina said.

"Kill",Syralth said.

"Kill",Tess said.

"I wanna see him die for what he did to Dad",Mnerloth Said.

Everyone else basically said the same thing,"kill". The V-22 began to shake.

"Incoming AA fire",The pilot called,"GO GO GO!" The hatch lowered.

"Try and keep up!" Shadow and I said in unison as we leapt from the aircraft and began a rapid descent through the swarm of jet black resistance V-22s. The others followed close behind. As we made our descent,pieces of V-22 began to fly around.

"Avoid the debris!" Shadow shouted into the coms,"it'll break your wings like glass!"

"Rodger!" Everyone called back. As we continued our descent,the ground began to come into view.

"Everyone,I called,slowly open your wings!" "Do it to fast and they'll snap like twigs!"

Slowly,I began to open my sixty foot wings,the more they opened,the more my descent slowed. I softly touched down and quickly folded them back in as Shadow landed beside me,letting off a burst from the 42 strapped to his side. I think the way the gun ripped scared him a little because he jumped.

"Damn this thing is fast!" He shouted over the gunfire.

"Come on Tyro!"he shouted,"let's go get this bastard!"

"I'm right behind you!" I shouted.

Shadow and I led the way,the enemy soldiers putting up little fight as they fell under the storm of lead that Shadow and I let off from our German machine guns. As we came around a large pipe,a concussion wave sent Shadow and I to our backs. I flipped over and saw a Draco team standing a few hundred yards off. One of them was reloading his 105. The dragon with the 105 fired again,the round whizzed by my head,just grazing the spines on my right cheek. I quickly grabbed Shadow by the scruff of his neck and dragged him behind the large pipe.

"What the hell was that?" Shadow asked righting himself.

"There's a Project Draco dragon standing at the entrance to the mine",I replied,"armed with a 105."

"What do we do?" Shadow yelped.

"Wait for him to fire his next round,then we shred him!"

It wasn't ten seconds before another 105 round landed beside us.

"NOW!" I shouted.

Shadow and I lept out from behind the pipe before letting rip with our 42's at the dragon standing at the entrance to the mine. Even though we were sevral hundred yards away,we could hear the rounds rip through his scales. I could hear the dragon cry out for his mother as he fell to the ground in a bloody mess.

"Push,push,push!" I shouted into the coms.

As we pushed forward,several Bradly fighting Vehicles opened up at us along with an Abrams Main Battle Tank.

"Lung Wei is definitely here!" Shadow shouted as we took cover from the tank.

"How we gonna get to him?" Nina asked,"our guns won't do shit to that tank!"

"Yes they will,I replied,"Nolan told me that the 105 can knock over a building!" "Time to find out!" I shouted as I stepped out and fired my rail cannon at the tank. There was a loud hissing noise,like pouring gasoline on a fire and a wave like none I'd ever felt hit me. There was a loud BANG as the round slammed at five miles a second into the tank. It sent the tank six feet in the air with a smashed front end. The tank landed on top of a Bradley,instantly taking it out of the fight. I was in awe at the power that the weapon strapped to my back possed.

"My turn!" Shadow shouted jumping out and firing his 20 mm rail gun at a few Bradly's,producing much the same effect I'd had with the tank.

"Nolan wasn't lying about these monsters!" Shadow yelled.

Shadow and I continued to fire our rail guns at the tanks and APCs,sending them all flying,but they kept coming.

"Raven 2-6",a deep voice cracked over the radio,"this is Punisher 1-1 established in the overhead and ready for tasking."

"Punisher 1-1,I yelled,"this is Major Tyro Serelath,request close air support on hard targets Alpha Romeo 443890,how copy?"

"Rodger that Raven",the pilot called,"Punisher 1-1 is visual friendlies and tally targets,weapons away,time to fall,ten seconds danger close."

I turned to my team behind me,"EVERYBODY GET DOWN NOW!!"

We all ducked and covered as the sound of the Warthog's engines filled the air.

"WARTHOG!" A human yelled over the radio.

The sound of a 30mm nose cannon and AGM Hell fire Mk-III missiles filled the air,quickly followed by multiple explosions.

"Good run"the pilot called,"twenty plus KIA's,comming around for another run."

The Warthog's engine noise once again filled the air,followed by the sounds of gunfire and missiles,and then multiple explosions.

"Rodger that Raven 2-6,the pilot called,"all targets destroyed,Punisher 1-1 is bingo on munitions and fuel,exiting to the east."

"Rodger that Punihser 1-1,"I called,"thank's for the assist."

As the warthog cleared out,the sound of helicoptor's began to fill the air. I looked up to see six AA-87 Apphace Longbows clearing the mine structure. They opened up with their 30mm nose cannons'the bulltets landed right in front of us,just barely missing.

"VEZ,NINA,FALINE,ATOR!" I shouted,put some fire on those birds!"

Vez,Faline and Nina stepped out from behind cover to fire their fifties at the birds while Ator spolled up his Gatling gun and sent a storm of lead at the helo's. They were joined by Shadow and I who were firing our 42's at the birds.

"Firing Javelin",Hudson called over the radio,"danger close!"

Hudson broke from cover and fired the missile into the air. It struck on helo on the back end,sending it into a tail spin and forcing it to collide with two other birds before crashing to the ground in a ball of fire and smoke. The remaining three Apaches countered with a missle barrage. The concussion sent us all to our backs.

"Get up Tyro!" Nina yelled pulling me up. Nina then turned and began firing her fifties at the circling helo's again.

"I'm gonna take them down!" Shadow yelled stepping out of cover and firing three rounds from his rail gun,ripping the remaining helos in half.

"Hell yeah!" Shadow shouted. "Move up!"

We broke from cover and sprinted towards the mine entrance,firing our 42's and SAWs at the humans who stepped into our way. About thirty yards from the mine entrance,two hatches above the doors dropped down to reveal .50 caliber Vulcan mini guns and a lone Barrett M82A1.

"COVER!" Shadow shouted as the minis began to spool up.

We quickly ducked behind a large,foot thick concrete wall. I could feel the bullets impact the wall.

"This wall ain't gonna survive much of that!" Mnerloth said changing the mag on her Dad's M27-IAR.

I pulled a frag from my vest. I pulled the pin and tossed it,it went off just above the emplacement,but did nothing to silence it,

"No good!" I yelled,"I need to drop a round on those guns!"

Shadow pulled a smoke grenade from his vest,"Tyro,you got a thermal gun sight?"

"Yeah!" I replied.

Shadow pulled the pin on the smoke canister and threw it out into the open. There was a loud pop and then a hissing noise as the smoke filled the area. I stepped out into the smoke and switched to thermal imaging. Instantly the area above the doors began to glow red hot. I quickly fired a 105 round into the glowing hot spot,silencing the mini guns and the sniper rifle.

"Move up!" I yelled,"machine guns are down!"

Once at the mine entrance,I had begun to examine the door when I noticed the dragon Shadow and I had shot was still alive,hurt quite badly,but alive none the less. Toro walked over to him and rolled him onto his back,lunging at him with his jaws wide open. I quickly bashed Toro off the wounded dragon.

"We don't execute wounded!" I barked at him.

Toro bared his fangs and growled right back at me.

"He deserves to die! He works for Wei!"

"It doesn't fucking matter!"Shadow growled,"unless he is an immediate threat to our lives,we don't kill! "Adelind,Nina,"I ordered,"patch him up!"

The dragon looked at Adelind and Nina fearfully as they approached him.

"Were not gong to hurt you",Nina said softly as she and Adelind began to close his wounds.

His whimpers and sobs told me he was younger than Toro by a few years,maybe nine at the most.

"You were going to kill a cub",I whispered into Toro's ear.

Toro looked at me,but didn't say anything. I turned my attention back to the doors.

"Ator"I said,"place the C2 here,here,here and here."

I pointed out specific weak spots in the door and Ator set his high powered explosives on them accordingly.

"Everyone back up!" Ator shouted.

We stacked up on the side of the door,Shadow,Nina,Adelind,the humans and I one one side and Ator,Roland,Val,Vez and the Anthro's on the other.

"Do it Ator." I ordered.

Ator raised his gloved paw and brought down on his chest,sending the twisted hunk of metal that used to be a door inside the mine like a bullet.

"Push,push,push!" I ordered as Shadow and I ran inside and let our 42's go,sending a hurricane of lead through the mine and shredding the defending humans. In the middle of the fighting,a sent hit my nose.

My radio chirped,"Come and get me."

"It's Lung Wei!" I shouted to Shadow,who had just gotten done tearing a human's throat out.

"What?" He asked firing his rail gun at a juggernaut coming down the hall way.

"It's Lung!" I replied with a shout,"I've got his scent!"

"Then what the hell are we waiting for!?!?" Shadow barked,"Lets go get this mother fucker!"

"NINA I shouted,"your with us!"

Nina,Shadow and I followed the sent down the mine,Shadow and I firing our 42's and Nina her twin fifties at the humans who attacked us. At the end of the long hall way was a door,made for dragons.

"Nina and I will find another way around Shadow,I stated,"maybe we can catch Lung from behind.

"Good idea",Shadow said,"you take care of my mate or I'm going to rip you up."

Shadow and I locked heads,"you got my word brother,I said deeply.

Nina and I then took off down the hallway as Shadow burst through the door. It didn't take long for us to find a side entrance that lead into a dark hole that ran along the sides of what looked like a large mine room. In the middle of the room,stood Shadow,face to face with Lung Wei. Shadow was hissing and snarling at Wei,his fangs and claws bared.

"I now see it was mistake allowing you and your mate to live,Shadow,"Wei said darkly,"I should have killed you both all those years ago."

"How dare you threaten her!" Shadow roared,"How dare you hurt my friends,my family! You'll pay for what youv'e done to me,Tyro,Nina,my familiy and all the lives youv'e ruined!"

Shadow lunged at Wei,his claws extened and jaws wide open. Wei counted quickly,slamming Shadow into a wall with his tail.

"That was too easy Shadow!" Wei said with a dark laugh,"I'm going to enjoy tearing your throat out!"

Shadow quickly recovered and lunged again,this time,his teeth found the back of Wei's neck. Wei roared from the pain and threw Shadow across the room like a rag doll. Shadow slammed into the wall with a yelp. Before I could stop her,Nina jumped out a Wei,jaws wide open. Wei quickly spun around and shot her at least ten times,the rounds tearing through the scales on her chest and neck,she collapsed to the ground,motionless.

"NOOOOO!" Shadow screamed.

As Wei turned his attention to shadow,I lept from the darkness,landing on Wei and pinning him under my full weight. I quickly cut his vest off of him and crushed it underneath my titanic weight. Wei coiled up his tail and slammed me in the neck,forcing me off of him. Wei stood up and spit out a bit of blood before looking over at Nina. Her body was heaving as she tried to breathe.

Wei laughed darkly,"One down,two to go!"

"I"M GOING TO KILL YOU!" I shouted lunging at him.

I felt my right paw collide with his face,leaving a deep gash along his face and eye. I landed on all fours and skidded across the sandy mine before charging him again as Shadow grabbed him from behind. I lept up again,just as my paws collided with Wei's chest,I felt myself get slammed to the ground. I quickly recovered and Shadow and I pinned Wei to the ground,he put up little fight as we began to crush him under our weight.

"I told you I was going to kill you Wei!" I said darkly,"Any last words?"

"Look down." Wei rasped.

On two of the claws on Wei's left paw,were the pins of frag grenades. Shadow and I looked down,the pins belonged to grenades on OUR vests.

"I win." Wei rasped as the grenades went off,the force of the blast throwing Shadow and I to the wall. I began to feel the blood seep from beneath my vest,and could tell that the wound was very serious. Wei stood and began to approach me.

"What was that about killing me!" He asked as he limped towards me. "I'm going to kill you Tyro,I screwed it up twenty nine years ago,but not today!"

Wei was suddenly grabbed from behind by Shadow.

"Tyro!" He shouted,"shoot him!"

I didn't hesitate to fire the rail gun into Wei. It ripped right through him without difficulty. Wei's eyes went wide as he looked down at the gaping hole,which was spilling blood. Wei collapsed into a bloody mess ad I limped over and pinned him under my weight,my blood spilling onto his neck.

"Your a dead dragon!" I hissed.

"If you kill me",Wei rasped,"you'll.."

I didn't let him finish his sentence. I quickly locked my maw around his neck and savagely began to shake and throw my head,tearing his neck to shreds as I did. I ripped away and looked at him,a large chuck of his flesh hanging out of my mouth. I spit it out and then started walking towards Shadow,but I stopped when I saw John,my human side,kneeling beside Nina patching her up.

"Make sure he's dead Tyro." John said not bothering to look up from Nina.

I glanced back over at lung,quickly ran to him and crushed his head under my weight. The bone gave little fight as it caved under my paw. I then ran to Shadow's side. The round from the rail gun had gone clean through,leaving a big,but clean wound.

"I got you Shadow",I said heaving him onto my back.

"You had me going there brother",he said as he lay over my back,"for a second I thought you were gonna let that bastard live."

Nina,who had managed to stand with John's help,was limping beside us as we walked out of the mine and met Adelind and the others. Adelind ran up to me and pulled me into a deep,passionate kiss.

"I love you so much right now." She said as the medics came up to us.

"Adelind",Trent said,"Tyro,Shadow and Nina need medical attention."

"Okay",Adelind said going to join the others.

Trent lead us to the medical chopper and helped Shadow off my back before stripping our gear off us and laying us into beds and tapping Iv's to our arms. "It's a high powered sedative,"he said,"you'll be sleeping for a few days,but other than that you'll be fine." My vision began to grow dim as the sedative kicked in and the Chinook began to spin up.

"Hey Shadow",I said laying my head on the pillow.

"Yeah?" He asked,his voice trailing off.

"We won."
