great war pt. 2
#2 of the great war
"Where is penna?"
"she is safe. If you want, I can take you to her." A silver dragon said.
"Yes please. Thanks. Urim hurry up!" Vanadessreplied. They are led to where Penna is being kept. A fox turns when they enter and starts to talk.
"Ah good you are all here. Come and let us go see king Elvithrariand."
They follow the fox and are led to a large door. They enter the room and see a large dragon. The dragon was a platinum dragon and was the most powerful of all the dragons in the mountain. The group makes their plea for help.
"Your highness, I am Penna, daughter of King Goldenfeather. We have come to ask for your help in fighting the humans. They started fighting five days ago. They are too numerous and have too much power for us to defeat them. We need your help."
"I know who you are and why you have come. Under normal conditions, I would gladly go into battle against the humans but I cannot. The reason for this is that the rogue dragons that have allied with the humans released a powerful demon dragon. I have to prepare myself for fighting Smog. I will need all of my warriors to fight the demon spawn that Smog will create. I am sorry. I cannot help you but I know who can. There is a cave north of here and in that cave is someone who can tell you about the phoenix lord."
"The phoenix lord? I do not have time to go wasting my time chasing a myth. I am going with the dragons to fight in the war."
"My people have need of me two. My mission was to only get you to side with us. I am sorry Penna."
"It's alright. I think I can do this on my own."
"I would not dream of sending anyone on a mission where they could die alone. I will send my son with you. I believe you already know him. I think he is the one who saved you from those damn humans. His name is Malual. He is too young to fight against demon spawn so he will protect you."
"Thank you my lord." Penna says as she turns to go hunt down Malual. She finds him and tells him of his father's decision. They say goodbye to Vanadessand Urim and then head to the cave. Penna rides on Malual in his dragon form and they reach the cave in no time. Malual turns back into a fox and they walk in.
"Ahh you must be the ones that Elvithrariand told me about. The bird is Penna and the fox is supposed to be a dragon named Malual."
"I am a dragon it's just that she does not like that form much. And besides, as a fox I attract a lot less attention."
"That is true. Now then to business. You have come to learn about the Phoenix lord correct?"
"Yes we have. What do you know about it?"
"The phoenix lord has been born already. The only problem is that the item needed to awaken the power of the phoenix lord and all of the memories that it is supposed to have was stolen by the humans. The "Incendia Pluma" was stolen by the leader of the humans. I know not where he has placed it. If you find it, then it should lead you to the Phoenix lord. I can enchant that staff of yours if you want. Other than that, there is nothing I can do."
"I would like it very much if you could make my staff stronger. Thank you for your help." Penna says as she hands him the staff. After a few minutes, he gives it back to her and says "It is enchanted with elemental magic. The element used will depend on your mood so be careful when practicing with it. Now off you two go."
They leave the cave after thanking the strange being and head to the nearest human settlement. It is on a small plateau and is a very peaceful village called Pon Hixe. All beings are welcome to the town. They walk into the town and stop at a small bar to get food and drinks.
"How are we supposed to find something that was stolen by humans?"
"We could ask around."
"I guess so. Maybe someone knows the name of the thing."
They ask around and don't get any answers. They were about to give up hope when someone
called to them. A human came to them saying that he had seen the "Incendia Pluma". He told them that he could lead them to where he saw it but it was in the main city of the humans.
"The only way that you will be getting into that city is as humans or as prisoners of war. Being
prisoners of war would be very bad because they take all prisoners to the king and if they are valuable, he uses them. You are the daughter of King Goldenfeather correct?"
"Yeah"
"He will know who you are and he will use you against your father. There is one way other way
you could get in but I don't know if you would want to do it. You would have to be a human's slave."
"Tough choice. Prisoner of war or slave. I think would prefer slave. But I think I will choose
Malual as my master."
"What? He has to be human!"
"Wait. You want me to be your master if we do that? I can be human if I want to be because I am a dragon. Hmm... It would seem we don't have a choice though. Penna, you will have to be a slave for this to work. Can you do that?"
"I think so. Alright human, what is your name?"
"Mat. If you are a dragon, you can fly us to the nearest town. It is in a war craze against everything so you will have to have a leash and collar. I know where we can buy one here. Let's go."
They all head out to get the collar and leash and then they begin their flight to the next town, Honipex. They land a little bit out of sight and Malual changes into a human and he puts the leash and collar on Penna. They then walk towards town.
"Halt! Who goes there?"
"Let me handle this. We are travelers who have fled the corrupted town of Pon Hixe. We have a slave bird and she is well trained. May we enter?"
"You may enter. It is good that you have fled that corrupt town. It will soon be destroyed by our lord. Keep a close eye on that bird of yours though."
"Thank you. See, I know how to get past these guards. Now Penna, you can't say anything unless Malual tells you to, ok?"
"..."
"You may talk"
"Understood."
"Also, people may touch you but just ignore it. We should be able to get through this town
without much trouble."
"Actually mat, I am tired from flying you all here. I think we should rent a room and rest tonight."
"Ok but you should know that sometimes the owners will not ask for money but rather for a time with a slave."
"Are you ok with that Penna? You may speak"
"I think I will be ok as long as you tell them no vaginal sex."
"Well it is getting late. That flight took a while didn't it? Hey there's an inn. Let's see if they have a vacancy."
"Right."
They all head towards the inn with Penna more than a little scared at what might happen there.
