This was my first visit to a chat room. I was quite confused with some people being total assholes and some being kind and sweet. I did not know what to do except try to make friends with people that seemed friendly.

[email protected]:30 AM: "Errr... Ummm... How is everyone this morning."

[email protected]:30 AM: "Fine..."

[email protected]:31 AM: "My parents are total assholes! They took my game system for a week because I didn't clean my room! I soooooo want to murder them."

[email protected]:31 AM: "@Ilovetorant You need to relax! It is only a week and you should have cleaned your room or that wouldn't of happened. You need to take deep breaths and just clean your room and they may be relax the punishment."

[email protected]:31 AM: "What are you? My parents?! If I wanted to hear this I would of talked to my asshole of parents!!"

This was my first taste of never ending course of drama that I would be experiencing. I could not figure out why people were so angry over the smallest things? It was a mystery to me but I let it slide not to question it again and just expect it.

I was told was not to reveal personal information because of the dangerous people on the other side of the screen. I thought I would be constantly aware of being careful.

[email protected]:42 AM: "That's cool I'm from Boston, New York what part of the United States you from?"

I was starting to feel pressured under the fact I could be exposing where I lived so dodged by answering with a lie.

[email protected]:43 AM: "I'm from Miami, Florida"

It was the first place that came to my mind because I go there for vacation with my parents every winter.

[email protected]:44 AM: "We should meet up! I have family there!"

Now I was feeling my heart race and beat hard trying to figure out another excuse to tell him so he didn't see that I was lying about my identity. Luckly I was saved by another person in the chat.

[email protected]:45 AM: "Hey LOTP you want to join me in an MMORPG?"

[email protected]:45 AM: "Hell ya! I'm logging now"

[email protected]:48 AM: "Hey man I noticed you were uncomfortable about telling him where you lived I knew you weren't telling the truth. Honestly where do you actually live?"

I was unaware I was revealing information thinking it was a normal conversation believing we were friends already. It seemed like he understood everything I said and how I felt. All I could see was the good vibes from this person blinded that this person could actually be dangerous.. We talk for hours till early in the morning getting to know each other. I was yawning realizing I had school in a few hours.

[email protected]:56 AM: No problem I'll see ya when you get back.

I was exhausted from being up all night but I was feeling good... Actually happy because I found someone that seemly was a legit honest person. I quickly turned off my laptop and crawled into bed knowing my parents would get upset if they found out I was up all night. I didn't want them to take the computer so I wouldn't be able to hear from my friend. I was called down for breakfast looking like a mess and I tried to hide the fact I was tired from being up all night.

"You okay hun you look a little sick" Said my mom

"I'm feeling fine honestly." I lied to divert suspicion.

I finished breakfast as I was sent to school. I didn't have anyone to talk to on the bus so I usually sat alone looking out the window feeling lonely. This time I felt different, I didn't feel alone because I knew someone online would be waiting for me to log on. I ignored the people at school except the teachers trying to focus when I couldn't when I was thinking about nothing but my friend online. Lunch was also a drag a lot of the time. I would usually sit alone against the wall or at an empty table unable to find someone to talk to or allowed to join the table. The day went on feeling longer than before probably from wanting to leave quicker out of school than usual. When I got home I dumped my school stuff on my parent's couch and immediately logged in to be greeted with a friendly greeting
