Chapter 7: I believe in you

Adam hummed a song to himself during his trek with Lux.

"Hey Adam." Lux asked "What are you humming?"

"It's a little song I remember when I was in my world." Adam replied. "It was called 'I believe in you'. "

"How does it go?" Lux asked.

"I don't remember all of it." Adam started. "But here is what I remember:

Who do I turn to when things are broken?

Where do I go when I'm feelin' alone?

Who's always there with arms wide open?

It's you, yeah it's you." Lux started to sing along with Adam.

"Where do I hide when it's dark and stormy?

Where do I run when it's all too much?

Who gives me hope when I wake each morning?

It's you, yeah it's you.

You were there for me in my darkest days,

You cared for me when I lost my way.

My guardin' light, you always pull me through,

I believe in you." Then they stopped.

"It's a beautiful song." Lux said.

"You seem to remember some of it." Adam said. Lux blushed.

"I remember hearing it at one point. When I felt down, that song always raised my spirits up."

"I feel the same way, Lux." Adam added. "Songs like that always raise my spirits up. And when I'm feeling down, songs like that never fail me." Lux smiled.

"I know how you feel, Adam." Lux also added. "Shall we run to the end?" Adam smiled.

"Alright. Let's run!" They started running as they saw light at the end of the forest. "Come on. Let's go!"

"Alright, alright. Just wait." Lux replied. Adam stood waiting for Lux to catch up with him. "Now, we can go."

"Man Lux." Adam started. "For an electric type, you are really slow..."

"Who cares?" Lux started to reply. "At least I have someone to walk with."

"I guess walking with someone else is more safe then walking alone." Adam started. "But I wonder if we will ever get out of here." Lux sighed.

"Adam, you worry too much." Lux replied. "We'll be out of here in no time." As he said that, Adam saw light at the end of the tunnel.

"Is that... Light?"

"You can't be serious?" Lux looked in the direction Adam was. "I stand corrected. That is light!"

"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" They started to run into the light.

Meanwhile with Skye...

"When will these forests end?" Skye thought. She looked out of the corner of her eye and saw light. "Finally, the exit!" She ran to the exit as Adam and Lux did after her. Skye looked to the right of her in the distance. "Adam!" Adam looked around and found Skye.

"Skye! Are you okay?"

"Thank Arceus, you're okay." Skye hugged Adam as he returned the hug. He broke the hug as he turned to Lux.

"Lux, this is my mother Skye. Mother, this is my friend, Lux. What do you think?" Skye looked at Lux. He almost killed her with that charge beam that Lux fired at her! But she sighed. She thought she can give Lux a second chance.

"I think he looks nice." She held out her paw to Lux. "How do you do?" Lux looked at her paw. He looked at Adam.

"It's okay. She won't hurt you. Shake her paw." Lux sighed as he looked at Skye and shook her paw.

"I am doing well."

"That's good." Luxray went to Adam's side.

"See? That wasn't too bad."

"So?" Lux started. "She scares me a little bit..." Skye giggled at that comment. Adam just rolled his eyes.

"Don't be so scared. She's just my mother." Adam replied.

"If you say so." Luxray looked at him, still at his side. Skye thought to herself.

"It seems I was wrong about Lux. I think I can learn to trust. But..." He looked at Adam. "I still trust Adam with all my heart; I will trust him to the end of the world. And I'm pretty sure he knows that." Adam turned to both Lux and Skye.

"I think we'd better get a move on."

"What makes you say that?" Asked Lux.

"We are losing daylight." He pointed towards the sky where the sun was. It was slowly going deeper into the sea, almost completely extinguished. "If we don't move quickly enough, we will be in the dark."

"Don't worry about that." Lux started again. "My electric fur glows through the dark."

"And I can create a blue flame on my paw that illuminates the path you want." Skye added.

"That's great. Teamwork." Adam first pointed at Lux. "We can use your fur to lead us through the dark and..." Then he pointed at Skye "We can use your blue flame to show us the path to get out of this field." He looked at the sun. "It won't be easy, I know that. But by working together... I believe that we can go through anything together."

"I believe in us." Skye stated, standing to the right of Adam.

"Me too." Lux stayed to the left.

"And with that..." Adam pointed to the small city in front of them. "Onwards troops."

"Yes sir!" Lux and Skye said. Skye saluted. Lux tried with one paw. But he managed. And they started walking. Little did they know that something else was also following them. What could it be this time? Only time... will tell.
