So, yeah, here's a special chapter for a little foreshadowing of what's to come to the main story. I hope you all enjoy it! This story is for dedication of my friend, Arcky Anagap, who died on October 22nd, 2013. I love him to death, so here's a little story of Raiki and Shirasu. Shirasu is mentioned several times in the near future of the main story, and he impacts the plot of the main story. Just so you know!

The setting takes place 3 years before Jason's arrival. Raiki is a Freshman student at this time.

"There comes a certain point in someone's life that they meet someone very close to their heart. Someone that becomes a vital part of their existence, that when they're ripped apart from them, they lose all thought of being.. them. Once we were young, frightened and lost. And this person comes up, completes us and enlightens our path. And we begin to see the world clearly, without the fog of hesitation blinding us. When that person vanishes, however, the sun that once illuminates our path is gone. And the fog returns. And blinds us from everything."

-- Raiki Kizu.

'I didn't think I'd be returning to Japan so soon. My parents said I needed to assume the position as a noble heir, and I guess that wasn't bad. But man, were things crazy when I actually got back. I almost got killed, and on my first day too! Well, I guess life has its ups and downs. I'm not complaining. Because Japan is where I met the person I'd be with forever. But yeah...'

The sun shone brightly beyond the sapphire sky, the birds chanting a blissful tune as the bustling city of Shinzuku has not felt a peaceful rest in years. Cars racing towards their destinations, the people running on the sidewalks as they hurried towards their appointments.

An island far off the coast of Shinzuku is where the famous Tokugawa Highschool was built, a university for gifted students. Only the best of the best were accepted in all of its academic sectors. And inside the institute of learning was the hall of numerous students who vigorously strove to be the best.

"Please introduce yourself to the class, my boy." A man wearing a long, white and decorated robe spoke as he gazed at the students up front. The man's name was Mekiyasashi Kashikoi, the governor of Shinzuku City and the apparent dean and headmaster of the university.

"My name's.. my name is Shirasu Hisakawa." the frail young boy said as he sheepishly smiled at the class. Numerous female students giggled at the sight of the rather cute male. This only elected a light blush from the young teenage boy.

"Hisakawa-san is transfer student from Tokugawa's London branch, so he knows all our rules and regulations. He also speaks fluent Japanese, so do not be afraid to communicate with him in our native language. His parents are both Japanese, so everyone is fully informed. Hisakawa-san is top of his class, and is the most behaved student in his batch, so I will have no one influencing him. Am I understood?" Kashikoi asked firmly as he gave a serious glance at the class.

"Understood, Kashikoi-sama!" the class said in unison as Kashikoi smiled and nodded.

"Well, Shirasu, please take a seat of your liking." Kashikoi said, hand in back as he gestured the new student to take his seat.

"Mmm.." the boy hummed in agreement as he nodded and smiled at the esteemed figure. The boy took steps up the flight of stairs as he searched for a seat. There he found a vacant one in the top layer. Upon clearer inspection, it seems the top layer was completely empty, there were around ten seats that were vacant. Only one male sat up there in the lonely part of the classroom. He wore a cerulean blue shirt as his uniform was hung rebelliously on his shoulders. And it seems he was sleeping, as he had his hands crossed, his legs up on the table as a small inkling of drool made its way down his lip. Shirasu couldn't help but smirk at this, as he sat a seat apart from the male. As Shirasu sat, the esteemed Mekiyasashi Kashikoi couldn't help but notice the sleeping male.

"Oi!" he shouted in a loud and booming voice which shook the very classroom. Shirasu detected some use of Psychic ability to enhance the volume of the shout, it seems he wasn't a professor to be handled lightly. With that, the ebony haired male was quickly startled as he fell down to the floor with a loud thud.

"Kizu-san, your father and I might be good friends, but that does not give you the right to be sleeping in class. And at the first day, no less! Now pay attention!" the livid professor exclaimed as he took his stand towards the whiteboard. The professor slid out a compartment as it revealed his full name on the board, and henceforth, the beginning of his introductions.

"A-Are you okay?" the male asked, a bit shy in asking as he nervously poked his two index fingers together.

"Ugh.. that.. stupid.. Huh?" the male looked up as he gazed up and saw someone sitting next to him. For the male it was odd, he had been alone in that place for awhile, and no one seemed to want to sit with him. But it was alright, since it was by his choice to be lonely atop the class. The teenage boy gazed at the other who was nervously looking away.

"Y-Y.. You have something on your face.. um." Shirasu took out his white and red handkerchief as he handed it to the male, looking away as he gave the cloth.

"Thanks.." the boy said as he stood up and took his seat. He continued to wipe his face as his pressed the cloth onto the sticky sweet substance. "Ugh, who would spill soda here?" the male said as he sighed, shaking his head at the sweet sitcky face of his. "Today's such a drag." he said as he slouched resting his head on the table.

"U-Um.. My name's Shirasu H-Hisakawa. What's yours?" the male asked, a slight smile on his face as his amber eyes laid on the teen beside him. The jet black haired male peeked out as he saw the male initating conversation with him. He quickly sat up straight as he gave the new student a nonchalant look.

"Name's Kizu." he said, as he stuck out a gloved hand for the other to shake. "Raiki Kizu." he introduced as he gave the new student a smirk.

"A-Ah..!" Shirasu was a bit surprised from the formal greeting but nonetheless, he knew what to do. The male grabbed the patent leather on his hands as he grasped firmly and shook hands with Raiki. He seemed to have made a friend, which was nice for once. Shirasu gave him a warm smile. "I'm pleased to meet you, Raiki." The male let out a cute giggle as this elected a slight blush from the lax Luxray.

"Ah.." Raiki's pupils dilated as his eyes fixated on the visage of the new student. He was irresistibly adorable, and Raiki saw that. Although he was quite distressed on why he felt this way. 'What?.. He's a dude, you idiot. The hell's wrong with you?!' he thought in his mind as he quickly slipped into silence, and once more took his nap, trying to hide the slightly pink face he has. Shirasu could only look puzzled as the Luxray seemed to duck into silence.

'He's.. so..' Shirasu smiled as he couldn't help but giggle at Raiki's embarrassment. Deciding not to pry even more, he just listened to introductions from afar, Raiki had stayed asleep the whole class.

--

The bell had rang incessantly as all the students sighed in relief. It seems Kashikoi was already teaching something regarding his English and Literature subject, to which the student's distastes brought out. Shirasu was the only one in class who was even awake after that, even though he knew the other classes may have only had free time during this period. But at least it hadn't been boring as the morning assmebly earlier.

"Alright, class, you are dismissed for here on forth. The school's gates close at 8:00 PM, but you may stay here. Visit the facilities. Just don't get in trouble." Kashikoi advised as he gestured for the others to leave as he proceeded on fixing his teaching materials.

Raiki then woke up as he rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off sleep's hold on him. The male then stretched his arms as his cerulean blue shirt rose up, revealing a bit of his midriff. Raiki then exhaled as he released the hold, smiling a bit. "Ah, finally. Glad that's over." he said in a lax and cool voice as he walked past Shirasu and down to the stairs. But he couldn't help but notice what Shirasu had in his hands.

"You.. You actually copied all the notes?" Raiki said as his eyebrows creased in a rather disgusted expression.

"Yeah, it's habitual. In London we were taught not to waste a professor's words. Even if they were spoken or written. It's a skill we need to prepare for college." Shirasu said giddily as he continued to fix his things.

"Hm.. I was wondering though. What rank were you when you were in London?" Raiki asked, hands nonchalantly draped behind the back of his head.

"Oh? Well.. I was always first on the lists. I never knew what that meant, but it got me a little bit of praise." Shirasu said modestly as he chuckled, although he was most likely serious that he had not known he was at the top of his batch.

'I think..' Raiki thought as he pondered over this male. Earlier, he knew he had seen this person before, that which elected such an odd reaction from him. Where did he see this male before? The mystery was eating at Raiki as he tried to shake it off, but the doubts were still there. He tried his best not to overthink about this too much. He already had a lot of stress building up.

"That's cool." Raiki said as he smiled a bit making his way down the stairs. Raiki reached for the exit as he looked back at Shirasu who was still fixing his things. "See ya later, squirt." he commented after leaving.

Just as Raiki left, Kashikoi had already been finished with fixing his things but he was a bit surprised someone was still here. His obligation as a professor meant that he would ensure that he was the last person to leave the room, following his own security protocols. The esteemed male gestured a wave to the young boy as he called his name.

"Hisakawa-san, may I borrow a moment of your time?" Kashikoi spoke calmly as he had a slight smile on his face. Shirasu then hurried downstairs as he carried his already fixed bag to meet the professor.

"Hisakawa-san, I would like to commend you for your flawless performance in class today. Out of everyone, you were the only one who got my questions right. I guess I have to up the main branch's game if this is what the other branches had to offer." Kashikoi joked as he simply ridiculed his admnistration. "Oh and for more information, there is a strip mall and a number of well known restaurants inside campus. We also have a gymnasium for training, a library and our cafeteria serves only the finest delicacies. Please enjoy your stay, Hisa-san." Kashikoi said with a smile as he exited the room and headed towards the path to the dean's administration building.

--

Train doors then opened up as students walked out of the train like it was rush hour, Shirasu being pushed out of the train by number of people going out. Shirasu then quickly made his way out of the train station as fast as possible. It was going to be a long school year if this is what he had to deal with everyday. The boy looked at his watch as he saw the time was around 6:30, he had best be getting home or his butler is going to reprimand him again. And he would like to be spared from all the unnecessary lectures.

'Ugh, Karakou is going to yell at me again. I better..' Before the male could recollect his thoughts, his cellphone rang and came a message from his butler.

"Master Shirasu, please come home, it's past your curfew."

Shirasu sighed as he walked towards the bustling sidewalk. Shinzuku never seemed to rest even at night, all the cars and the lights. Everyone always had an agenda in this city. Even the night sky wasn't spared of the numerous array of lights present. Just then, Shirasu's ears twitched as he heard a scream from afar. It was directed at a dark place from within the back alleys. Shirasu ran towards the scream as he bumped into a person.

"S-Sorry!" Shirasu apologized after sliding away, continuing to bolt towards the danger. The man he bumped into could only look at him as ran off. He had quite a suspicious look on his face.

"Huh, where's he going?" he said, as he gazed at the running male. The man then disappeared into the crowd and headed towards the running student's direction.

--

"Hey, girl, we're just going to take those packages of yours, ehehehe.." a male voice cooed as sounds of struggling were heard. Banging on the dumpster, puddles of water being splashed around.

"H-hey! Damn, this girl's tough." A teenage boy said, as he tried to pin down the young girl as they sought to fondle with her private areas.

"Tasukete! Dareka, shite kudasai!" (Help! Someone, please!) the young girl pleaded as she tried to get away from the grip of the two males.

"Ne, wara wara teishi, meinu!" (Hey, stop squirming, bitch!) one of the teenage males said as they pressed the blonde female up against the wall, the boy placing his pelvic against her nether regions. "Damn, this girl really makes me ha--"

"Let go of her!" a shout came from afar as it apnned to see Shirasu witnessing the crime. His eyesbrows creased as his nostrils flared in intense anger. The young boy literally had been breathing fire from his nose due to his fire affinity. This form of anger was not normal as he sent the ground shaking. Shirasu then bolted towards the two older teens as he slammed his palm onto the other's face, a gigantic and fiery explosion then transpiring as one of the teens was sent aback, unconscious.

"Ugh.." Shirasu groaned, as he knelt down. That attack had taken a lot out from him.

"A-Are you okay?" the female blonde said as she tried to help Shirasu get back up, but before she could, she let out a scream as one of the teens kicked Shirasu's face back. The Houndoom was sent back to the floor with a loud thud, as the teen assailant sat on top of him and started assaulting him with numerous punches. The obnoxious teen then took ahold of his collar and uppercutted Shirasu square on the jaw.

Shirasu then was sent flying back as his face hit the muddy puddle, blood seeming to be drawn from the simultaneous beating he received. But Shirasu did not give up, he stood strong but limp. The male raised his hand up as he created a spherical fire upon his palm. "F-F-Flamethr-- Agh!" Shirasu then felt a sharp pain on his right arm as he knelt once more.

The teen took advantage of this as two massive cannons appeared from thin air, focusing them on the injured male. "So, Fire type user, huh? Let's see if you can survive this! Hydro Cannon!" the teen then fired the two massive cannons, water erupting from the blue metallic guns. Shirasu gazed at the massive string of water as he coughed up a bit of blood. He saw that this was the end. There was no way that he could take that much water. He was done for. 'So.. this is it, huh? Died to save a damsel in distress..?' he thought as he shook his head.

"THUNDER!"

A voice erupted from behind Shirasu as he saw an electrical field protecting him and a familiar face aiding him. The electrical power of the unknown male had enough heat energy that the water simply evaporated into mere vapor. Shirasu sat back in awe as he saw that the man standing before him was none other than Raiki Kizu. The Luxray had a wide grin on his face as he gazed at the fear-ridden visage of his opponent.

"A-A.. A Kizu!" he exclaimed as he was shaken in fear. His fear consumed him so much that he had urinated in his pants. "Please, I-I'll go, I.."

"Not so fast." Raiki then rained a powerful bolt of lightning from the heavens and electrocuted the male before him. "Don't think you're not going to pay for your sins. I'll make you suffer." he said coldly as he heightened the voltage of the powerful strike. The man squealed in pain as his pupils faded away. The man had ultimately passed out.

"Th-That's enough, Raiki-kun!" Shirasu said as a bloodied hand tugged onto the uniform of the male, pleading for his colleague to stop.

Raiki then looked down at the pleading Shirasu as he scoffed and released his electric grip on the teenage boy. The blonde female then rushed towards the two as she bowed to thank them.

"Th-Thanks you guys, I.. I wouldn't know what I'd do if you weren't there." she said as he she gave both Shirasu and Raiki a kiss. "My name's Hikari. Hikari Akarui." she introduced as she gave both of them a big smile, despite being dirty with mud, clothes ripped off.

"Hikari.. Akarui?!" Raiki said, his eyes widening as he stepped back. "You mean, the famous teen star?!" he exclaimed as his eyes widened even more. He was taken aback that he even fell to the ground. "I-I... need to get you both to the Bureau.. pronto!" Raiki said as he comedically took ahold of Hikari and Shirasu towards the outside of the back alley.

'I think I could manage things. And.. that was the start of a particularly odd relationship.'
