#1 of Baseball in Winter (redux)

Hey everybody! I'm back!!! (yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay)

Sorry about the quietness it's been more then a couple crazy days, or even weeks. I even burst a blood vessel in my eye x.x

But in order to get back into this crazy writing thing I tried to jump into a story but I couldn't, so I took one of my favorite stories and edited and made it better.

I decided to do Baseball in Winter. I loved the characters but the story was really lacking I think. When I went back to read it I was like eeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. So hopefully this is a little better :3 I won't be taking the other one down but I will be adding (redux) to the new ones. This is going to be the first one. Also this should be much better. :3

I can't wait to get started with new stuff ^w^

It's nice to be back writing and uploading stuff.

Black smoke filled the air as Ket squinted his eyes struggling to see through the haze. Sounds of a single prop airplane filled the air as the white fox tried to see into the sky to find it. He could hear it sputtering and then the sound of it entering a nose dive. Then through a break in the dark cloud he saw a glimpse. A small single engine, prop plane in a nose dive with a fire erupting out of the side of the engine. Inside the pilot tried desperately to pull on the control. But, one of the wings dissolved and with a loud, earth shattering crash, the small one engine plane smashed into an open field creating a crescendo of fire spreading across the field. Tears flowed from Kets eyes as he ignored the stinging smoke and ran toward the burning mess. He reached it and dived in, his paws burned, his body told him to run away or he'll get hurt. His eyes stung and started losing their vision but he didn't care. He kept pulling at that latch hoping that he'd get it open and rescue the pilot.

Ket shot up with tears rolling down from his eyes and all of his fur soaked with sweat. The dream, his nightmare, had returned. The plane crash that killed his father once again haunted him. Ket threw open his covers and moved to sit on the side of the bed. He clutched his sides and drew in some deep breaths trying to regulate himself.

"Why is this happening again?" He whispered looking at the picture that resided on his desk. It showed a small white fox kit on the shoulders of a powerful, loving wolf. The kit was holding a model airplane and the wolf was grinning ear to ear as he watched his son play with it. Ket reached for the picture and gripped the side, suddenly a vision of the dream flooded back into his vision and he slammed the picture down so he couldn't see the face. He just wanted to remember his father without having to relive the dream, which had haunted him for the past six years.

"So I'll just not sleep then." He muttered and got up to remake the bed. He didn't want to sleep on the sheets, too wet from the sweat. Instead he lay on his back, over the covers staring at the ceiling and letting his eyes make formations out of the dots there. He stared at it until he had to get up at seven o' clock. Four hours to go.

6:59 finally came around and Ket switched the alarm off so he wouldn't have to listen to it's annoying beeping. With another sigh the white fox sat on the edge of the bed and replaced the picture on his nightstand to it's original state. He lazily stood up and put on his clothes, trudging down the stairs to the smell of some cooking in the kitchen. He peaked around the corner and saw a dark gray fox standing near the counter checking her phone and waiting for the waffle iron to ding. She looked up from her phone noticing the movement and smiled.

"Good morning Ket! Got'cha some waffles to start off the day!" She said in her chipper mood, which somehow made him feel even worse.

Ket didn't feel like responding and instead just sat at the table looking blankly at the flowers that were on them. Kita, the gray fox, had filled in the position of mother and father for him. Ever since the accident she had really stepped up so their lives would be as least effected as possible. Ket's mother was always incredibly busy at the factory, usually working long days well into the night and even sometimes on the weekends. Kita had graduated from High School the year before but had promised to stick around and help until Ket had graduated.

"Something the matter Ket?" She asked, using a fork and sticking a waffle onto a plate and bringing it to him.

Ket just shrugged slightly. "Not really."

Kita set syrup and butter on the table and and sat across from him at the table, "You sure? You're not feeling sick or anything are you?"

Without looking at her he replied with a "I'm fine" and stabbed at his breakfast with a fork, not bothering to put any of the toppings on it. The two stayed in silence for a moment when Kita looked at him, making Ket slightly uncomfortable.

"Ket, are you having that dream again?" She asked.

Ket stayed silent looking off to the side. "I'll be fine."

"You most certainly will not be 'fine!'" His sister got up and walked around, rubbing his shoulder. "I'll call Dr. Allen and get you an appointment ok?"

Ket closed his eyes and quickly rolled them, he hated going to the psychiatrists office.

Suddenly, Wyn, Kets other sister appeared from the hallway. All she had on was a towel, the rest of her fur was dripping wet and a few suds still covered her bare fur. The smell of wet fur quickly filled the room as she stomped and crossed her arms. Wyn was a year older then Ket, yet acted only a third of her age sometimes

"KITA!" She yelled angrily tapping her foot.

"Wyn I can't deal with this right now." Kita quickly rebutted.

She stomped up to Kita and pointed a finger right in her face. "You used all the shampoo! And the hot water! How am I supposed to make myself look pretty when you use all of the stuff!"

Kita scoffed at her, "Look I can't really talk about it right now! Besides you need to wake up earlier anyway."

Ket used this as his excuse and quietly left the table, as the two were engaged in the argument. He put on his jacket, slung his backpack around his shoulder, and opened the door to the snowy outdoors. Thought it wasn't new powder, it was dirty and had been hanging around for days. He walked out and jumped at the temperature but he continued, making his way for school.

"Wait Ket! Hold on!" Kita tried to run after him but was quickly held off by the freezing temperature. He didn't even look back at her and Kita closed the door with a sigh. Wyn cocked her head to one side.

"Uhh, did I miss something?" She asked, now realizing that her predicament wasn't really all that important.

"Gee thanks Wyn." Kita grumbled going to pick up her phone. "Kets having the dream again, and you drove him out." She rolled through her contacts until she got to "Mom" and hit dial.

"Now shut up while I call mom."

Wyn quietly shuffled back to the shower. "Well now I feel like shit."

Ket went through his school day like any other, quiet and out of the way. He never wanted to attract too much attention to himself. He spent his lunch at the far corner of the cafeteria, to avoid anyone staring at him munching on the peanut butter and jelly sandwich he made for himself. Today he had finished all of his work early in most of his classes, including a midterm, and turned it in first, as usual. He had gotten through most of the day without anyone bothering him, which was pretty much a first. Finally, the bell signifying the end of lunch rang and Ket threw away his lunch and started to make his way to sixth period. He sat at the back of the class glad that the day was almost over, once he got home all he had to do was avoid Kita and Wyn and he would be home free for the rest of the night. That is if Kita didn't call Dr. Allen.

His sixth period teacher was a Collie named Ms. Granker, it was his science class and they were studying the solar system at the moment.

"Ok, welcome back from the weekend everybody." She cheerfully said in a way that made Ket sick to his stomach and just want to say get on with it.

The class let out a collective sigh as it felt like she was just rubbing in the fact that they were all back to school

"Today I'm assigning a project. A partner project." She said, slightly cocking her head to one side.

Ket watched as most of the people in the class glanced at their friends and nodded signifying that they were partners, a ritual Ket never seemed to be a part of.

Mrs. Granker held up a finger, "now before you start choosing partners I have decided that I'm going to be choosing them for you."Another collective sigh let loose from those who had already picked their partners, but to Ket it was slightly for the better. He didn't have to worry about the awkwardness that came with being the last one.

"Yes, I've already picked them at random and your project, a powerpoint presentation on one of the planets in the solar system. However, each of you will be picking a defining feature and going in depth on that as well as general information. However this is not your sixth grade project. That being said, if you do you will be graded down. Both of you. There are examples on the rubric"

She started passing small sheets of paper down the rows, Ket got it but didn't look at it. Mrs. Granker continued.

"I will be reading out two names and a planet, there are twelve groups so some of you will have to double up on your planet. Ok, Sam and Michal, Mercury." She began, but interrupted herself. "Oh yeah and when I call your name you can go back to the computers in the back and start."

Ket put his head in his paws, this was going to be an easy project. He just didn't want to be paired with the wrong person. That might have been everyone in the class with a few exceptions. Like people who were like him, quiet and got their work done. But they also aren't great at presentations. He knew he wasn't which did call for someone else. It was basically a rock and a hard place. They got down to the bottom of the list and six furs remained, that was when his name was called.

"Ket and Ciyter, you will be doing Jupiter along with it's moons."

Ket watched his partner look around the room for him and slowly rise from his seat. He was a golden-brown furred wolf who was a living legend in sports at this school. He was well built with a fairly large stature and could easily pummel Ket if he felt like it. Ket hoped he wouldn't feel like it, after all he did seem like the duchy type. But Ket had also never talked to him he didn't really know what to think.

Ket quietly went back to the computers in the back of the room and logged on. He carefully made sure not to make eye contact with the wolf as he stood beside him. He just kept looking at his legs and lower arms out of the side of his eyesight.

"So, Jupiter." He said in a tone Ket wasn't expecting. "You know much about it?" He asked trying to break the ice that had settled around them.

Ket shrugged but he was being modest. One of his favorite things to watch were space documentaries, or at least they used to be, when he was in middle school. Regardless he knew more then the average person.

"Oh yeah, students!" Mrs. Granker said, "We'll begin presentations on Friday!"

More exasperated sighs escaped the muzzles of the slackers, although Ket could do this and have it ready by Wednesday if he wanted, but he really didn't.

Ciyter complained, "Really, Friday. She's pushing us."

Ket just shrugged and got to work creating a rough data sheet while Ciyter read the rubric. For the rest of the day Ciyter did all the rest of the awkward talking. Ket stayed quiet.

*****************************************************************************

The bell rang and Ket immediately shut down the computer and left the room leaving Ciyter without saying a word. With how fast he had gotten out of there Ciyter thought that he could make a good track runner. The wolf watched the fox leave. He wasn't going to lie to himself he was glad that Ms. Granker had picked him with Ket, after all, the fox was the smartest in the class. However he did seem a little strange. He did know what happened to his dad, everyone in the whole town did. But that was six years ago, could he still be holding on to that? Ciyter quickly packed up his stuff and followed the fox to the outside of the building. He crossed the street and started walking instead of taking the bus. Ciyter cocked his head slightly, he thought Ket lived a little ways from the school. He knew that Ket's sister, Wyn, takes the bus. Ciyter shook his head, this was one confusing fox. He turned and made his way to his car and climbed in blocking out the cold. The wolf was just about to turn the ignition when the sound of someone pounding on his car hood startles him and made him drop his keys.

"Geeze Travis! Do you have to do that!" He yelled from inside the car. Outside a snickering weasel made his way around to the passenger side and climbed in.

"A guy's gotta keep an eye on you! No way we're letting you do anything dangerous before the big match!" He snickered, referencing the snow and buckling his seat belt.

"So sneaking up and almost giving me a heart attack is your way of keeping me out of danger Ciyter joked, miming the motions of a heart attack. The weasel snorted and Ciyter turned the car over. He cranked the heat to it's highest setting and drove out of the parking lot.

"What did Ms. Wanker have for you today?" Travis asked, taking way too much pleasure in his own joke.

"Just another stupid partner project, luckily I got the smartest person in the class so I shouldn't really have an issue." Ciyter replied giving a shrug.

"Oh is it that Jessy girl? You know, the...what is she....the folf?"

"No it's a guy, you know the white fox, Ket."

"Oh no not that guy!" Travis sneered and pretended to gag. "You don't want to be spending any time around him."

Ciyter made a couple glances from the road to Travis. "What do you mean 'not that guy.' Whats wrong with him? I mean he's quiet but he seems to get his work done."

"Duuude that's right you don't know. You got here after the fact." Suddenly Travis seemed really interested.

"Don't know what?"

"He's gay." Travis said bluntly. "The whole nine-yards. All the way. It was this big thing at the beginning of last year in gym class. I wasn't in the class but I heard from Gavin who was. Apparently, the football team was getting their stuff ready for the game at the end of the day and Ket was just getting finished with P.E. He took one look at them and his thing shot so far out you'd be able to see it from across town." Travis laughed and playfully punched Ciyter. "Can you believe that? A gay! In our town."

Ciyter, being a 'jock' was supposed to laugh at that stuff, but really he knew it was mean. So he just gave a quiet huff and smirk. "No I guess not."

"Look look look!! There he is!" Travis pointed to the side of the street as they were passing.

"FAG!" He yelled through the unopened window. Ciyter ducked lower and looked in his mirrors to see if Ket had heard, but he didn't seem to notice.

"Hey man shut up! I have to work with him! How'd you like it if you had to work with someone who doesn't talk to you."

"Ah, don't worry about it. It's not like he's going to do much about it." Travis chuckled leaning back into his seat.

Ciyter drove up to Travis's house and pulled into the empty part of the driveway. Travis hopped out and walked to his door. "Just be careful around that fox, he may try to get all gay on you or something."

With that Ciyter shrugs and turns his car around heading to his house, which was a little further back. As he was driving he once again noticed Ket walking slowly, seemingly lost in the music he was listening to. Ciyter huffed and pressed the gas a little harder. Choosing a spot in front of the yard Ciyter grabbed his backpack out of the back seat and shuffled into the front door, kicking off his shoes so not to spread the tracks of snow he had accumulated. The smell of something cooking wafted to his nose and his father was sitting on the couch doing some work on his computer. He glanced up from his screen.

"Hello Ciyter." He said loudly. "How was school today?

"Ok." He responded.

His father wasn't content with the answer, "Only ok? What made it ok? What happened?"

Ciyter shrugged, "I dun know, got a B minus on my test."

"A B minus?" His father set his computer to the side. "Well thats ...good." Ciyter felt the need to roll his eyes but refrained. "You know Ciyter, I didn't get to where I am with B minuses. You need to plan if sports don't work out."

"Don't worry, it was only one test Dad." Ciyter didn't appreciate his father pushing into his plans for life all that much, especially when he tries to do the whole "chip off the ol' block" thing. But Ciyter was never much a school person. The highest he'd ever gotten on a test was A minus, so any type of B was great. Quickly Ciyter tried to change the subject as he turned his attention to the smell of the dinner.

"What's that?"

His dad finally smiled, "Your mom has something good cook'n up!"

Ciyter sighed, it smelt like broccoli casserole, something he hated but his parents loved. Suddenly his mom peered around the corner. "Oh Ciyter your home! Just in time for Dinner."

Ciyter dropped his backpack near the closet and checked his phone. "Think it's a bit early?"

The she-wolf smiled as she put the casserole on the table, "Better eat it while it's hot!"

Ciyter grumbled as he sat, wishing he could have at least made it to his room before they drew him into dinner. At least this way though he was getting it out of the eary, the rest of the night could be his.

"Eric honey could you pass the potatoes?"

Ciyter's father picked up the pan and passed it to his mate.

"Jen...Ciyter tells me he got an B minus on a math test."

Jen nodded as she chewed, "Not bad, just be sure to keep it up, the next one had better be a B plus!"

Ciyter nodded but in his mind he sighed. There they went again, micro-managing his life again. He took a little bit of the casserole and put it on his plate and started moving it around with his fork. Eric took notice.

"You'd better take more than that! Your mother spent a long time on this."

Ciyter sighed, "Look, dad I'm just not hungry. I mean I just got home from school, it's only three thirty. Just put it in a Tupperware for me, I'll eat it later."

It wasn't a complete lie, he really wasn't hungry but that wasn't the reason why he wanted to leave the table, he just wanted some alone time. After spending time with people all day Ciyter liked to have his own time alone.

"Look, I have a lot of homework. A project due on Friday, could I leave and work on it."

The two looked at each other and finally nodded, "Ok, but that just means it has to have that little extra bit of work in it."

Ciyter forced a thanks and muttered a couple things under his breath. His parents didn't exactly understand that he wasn't the school type, and after multiple times trying to explain to them he had just given up on it. Once he got to his room he gently closed his door and quietly locked it. Normally his parents didn't like locks in the house but he had installed it anyway. He had a pretty good idea that they knew what he was doing but just didn't want to go through the awkwardness of dealing with it. After all, he wouldn't want to deal with it with his kids either. Boy's will be boys. He moved to his laptop and opened it. It booted up while he pulled down his pants, gently caressing himself.

Typing in his password he made a couple of clicks and opened a file named "school 2007." It was a fake name he put to keep preying eyes away. So far it had worked fairly well. Inside was over six-hundred pictures of naked she-wolves and vixens. Ciyter made a few low hums as he rubbed himself a little harder letting his red cock start to show itself out of his sheath. Masturbating was one thing that he used to relieve stress and it worked wonders. However over the past couple of weeks he had been noticing something. They hadn't really been doing it for him. He remembered back when he had first started he could take one look at a wolf and he'd be rock hard, but it now took him more then a little while to get going.

It did worry him slightly, but it also meant that he just had to paw harder and after cycling through a couple pictures he found a good one. A snow white vixen leaning up against a tree eying the onlooker seductively.

"Ooooh."

Ciyters paw moved faster and squeezed himself harder, his hips started to buck slightly as he could feel something well up deep within him. With his eyes locked on the vixen he gasped and his hips thrust forward, letting a rain of white cum rest all over his shirt. A quiet sigh escaped his muzzle.

"Not again."

He grabbed a fairly crusty blanket and wiped off his paws and shirt but decided to just take it off instead. Throwing the shirt into his hamper, which was surrounded on all sides by missed shots, Ciyter laid back in his chair.

"Stupid project."

*************************************************************

Ket made the final keystrokes on the data sheet he made up on Jupiter. He attached it to a file and sent it to himself in email so he could get it at school. He already knew a fair bit about the solar system so it would be a cake walk. The fox sighed and checked the time, almost ten and time for bed. But he wanted to do one more thing. Quickly, he went to Furbook and typed in Ciyters name. He found him and clicked on profile. There were many pictures of his time in the male lacrosse team, the baseball team and the swimming team. Ket's ears and tail perked when he saw the swimming one's. He found one of Ciyter wearing a Speedo. He didn't look half bad and in fact he looked pretty hot. Ket leaned in closer to he could see better, but a knock at his door prevented anything else. He closed the window and turned in his chair.

"Ket, can I come in?"

He responded with a yes and the door slowly opened. His mom stood in the door way.

"Hi sweety, how ya holding up?"

Ket shrugged. "As good as I'll ever be I guess."

His mother walked in and leaned in.

"Kita tells me that you had the dream again. Do you want to talk about it?"

His mom, Liyra, almost always worked late. She was a floor manager at the factory in the town which manufactured parts of airplanes for several companies, and thus it was almost imperative that she stay late. But she sighed.

"Honey?"

Ket just sat quietly, moving side to side in his chair. She could tell that he didn't want to talk about it at all. She rubbed his shoulder and gave him a kiss on the top of his head.

"I'll make an appointment with Dr. Allen, we'll go together. Also remember that I can always come home from work if you need me. I'll be right in the next room. Good night."

She gave him another small kiss and left the room leaving Ket still sitting in silence. He got undressed and climbed into bed fully expecting to stay awake the entire night.
