The Family He Never Had Part 5
Terk and Kenji have a little chat with each other and it leads to a question, are they made for each other?
The day was almost over as the sun was slowly setting but the sun was still up in the sky. Terk and Kenji were leaning on a big tree after they had fun for the day with the others. Terk placed an arm around Kenji as if to give him a one armed hug again, this made Kenji blush.
"So what do you think of the others?" asked Terk curiously.
"Flynt and Mungo seem to be the funny gorillas of the bunch, although I'm sure they know to stay away from danger." said Kenji as he was being understanding.
"Flynt and Mungo are good guys, they're not the sharpest spears to have been made but they mean well and they mean no harm, although we know they know better." said Terk as she was being understanding as well.
Terk could see the sun from a distance as it was still up but setting. Everything seemed to be doing okay for Kenji since he first came to the jungle when they all found him, but Terk did know she was curious about what Kenji meant when he told them his father wasn't the best father to him but she knew that she shouldn't pester him.
"Do humans and relationships work differently than a gorilla?" asked Terk curiously.
"That would be right." said Kenji at first as they both looked at each other. "When humans fall in love, it's different for them than it is to a gorilla, some relationships for humans work out and other times, some human relationships don't work out. But for some humans, that's how they find the love of their lives."
"Sounds like a lot of work and a lot of drama." said Terk looking a bit surprised.
"It may be that way, but for humans, that's life when they look for love." said Kenji.
Terk was starting to see that Kenji knew a thing or two about life and everything in it, she grew curious of what else he knew and wondered if she wanted to know or if she didn't want to know but knew he could explain it to terms she could understand it. Terk hugged Kenji a little closer to her.
"You probably already have a mate, do you?" said Kenji knowing it was an innocent thing to consider.
"Well, not really. I was in love once, we had a few good times but it turns out we weren't ready for a serious relationship yet." said Terk as she remembered she was in love with a fellow male gorilla. "We did know it's like the old saying goes, if you love them, set it free, if it comes back, it's theirs to keep, if it doesn't come back, than it was never yours."
Kenji understood what Terk told him since he was familair with the old saying when it came to love but he too grew a bit curious about what Terk told him just now.
"Did you love this fellow gorilla?" asked Kenji.
Terk blushed and tried to look macho but she knew that there's no dodging this question, even if it was a bit complicated.
"I did say I was in love once." answered Terk. "Were you ever in love?"
Kenji went silent as he knew this was his turn to answer a few questions out of curiosity but he felt a bit nervous about it but he remained calm in the face.
"I never fell in love with anyone before, I didn't really know anyone to love back or to love me back. Some human's life style is different than the other." said Kenji as he spoke the truth.
Kenji suddenly wrapped his arms around Terk's body and hugged her back, sensing he needed comfort, Terk hugged him back but in both arms now. Both of them looked at each other for a brief moment but looked away afterwards, both blushing.
"Do you know what love is, kiddo?" asked Terk curiously.
"I think so, I did encounter people who were loving as Kala." said Kenji.
Terk began to smile as she was starting to stroke one finger around Kenji's belly and chest slowly which felt sensitive to Kenji's body and he giggled with a grin. She turned to face him as they faced each other.
"That tickles." giggled Kenji.
"I got to tickle your belly more often to make that babyface of yours smile." Terk said playfully.
Terk was stroking her finger on Kenji's belly slowly up and down which tickled him slightly while it made him rather helpless to stop her. She eventually stopped to show mercy on Kenji and she pulled Kenji in for a big hug, their faces were close to each others faces. Terk leaned her body forwards and Kenji was now laying on his back with Terk on top of him, both were giggling.
"We're going to get along just fine." said Terk.
They both snapped out of their little world once they heard rustling from nearby and they turned to see what it as but they saw Tarzan, Jane and Tantor from a distance, they both got up and released their arms from each other.
"What's going on here?" said Tantor giggling.
"Uhhh nothing." said Terk and Kenji in unison.
"It's starting to get dark out." said Tarzan.
"Dark out?" said Kenji at first as he started to look a bit nervous to the point of feeling fear.
Kenji looked up and the sun was about to set and the moon would soon by rising, he felt uncomfortable for some reason.
"Oh no, that's not good." said Kenji looking a bit alarmed.
"Are you afraid of the dark, kiddo, there's nothing wrong with that." said Tantor as his first impression was Kenji being afraid of the dark.
"No, I'm more afraid of what's in the dark." admitted Kenji feeling his heart racing. "I have my reason for this."
They all saw the look of fear on Kenji's face with a hint of sadness, knowing he developed the fear of what is in the dark for a reason, they first were thinking it was due to predators at night but they had a feeling they were wrong.
"Where's the tree house? I need to be somewhere that's away from danger during the night, I may not have been in a jungle but I know that's when the predators come out and I'm not risking a poisonous snake or insect on the ground." said Kenji looking around with panic pumping through his heart.
"I can take you to it, me and Jane were headed there." said Tarzan reassuring him.
Kenji was feeling better a little but he turned to hug Terk once more before he was going back to the tree house to sleep. Terk hugged him back.
"I'll see you when the sun rises." said Terk. "Your safe with us."
"Thank the lord I'm with you." said Kenji as everyone noticed what he just said, making him blush and he knew what he already uttered. "I mean thank the lord I'm with all of you."
After Terk and Kenji released their arms from each other, Terk was blushing with a grin as Tarzan was leading Kenji to the tree house for a night's sleep. Everyone knew what he said but figured he got a bit confused.
"Do you think Kenji likes you, Terk?" asked Tantor curiously.
"Oh Tantor, if you and me knew Kenji liked me, you would've caught me and Kenji making-out." said Terk trying to look cool. "Did you see us kiss?"
"Well, no but it was only a question." said Tantor.
"I'm sure he just needs comfort, it's been a long day for him and he's struggling to adjust to things here in the jungle." said Terk looking calm, cool and collected.
"I suppose your right." said Tantor finally.
As everyone was headed off to sleep, there were a few things on the mind. Why was Kenji afraid of what ever was in the dark, other than predators out at night but they suspected he had a reason to why he developed this fear. What Kenji said at first and what he said to correct himself got them a bit baffled as they all had suspected one thing, does Kenji like Terk? Still, there was a lot of things about Kenji they didn't know. Terk blew a kiss in Kenji's direction with a grin.
"Sleep tight little man." whispered Terk.
