Chapter 2: Our mission

We reached a house which seemed to build really well just using pieces of wood and big pieces of leafs. It looked like it can keep out the wind and rain (even though I would be fine in the rain since I'm a water type Pokémon, it wouldn't bother me that much).

"How did you build it?" I asked. I had a hunch telling me he didn't build this himself.

"Well, I didn't do it myself." My hunch was correct. "I had a gurrdurr, two timburr and a quagsire help me out. And to be fair, this house looks great to me." He said hopeful. I looked at him. I couldn't feel but good for him. I smiled at him.

"I think it looks good. At least it keeps you out of all the bad weather. So it can't be bad."

"Me too." Axew added. Then he turned to me and said. "By the way, since we are friends now, if you want to give me a nickname now, that would be okay. So, have you got something?" I looked at Axew, thinking what kind of nickname would fit him best. He had a nice personality, but also there is something blind to the eye that I can plainly see. Two tusks. I had the perfect name for him. I whispered the name in his ear. He smiled at that name. "That's a great name. I have everyone call me that now."

"Jeez, when I see _____ like that. I can't help but feel happy for him. I can't help but feel I made the right choice. (I blanked Axew's name so you can give him any name you want. I'll leave that up to your imagination, unless me to give a good nickname to that axew. Or just wait until the next chapter.)" I noticed he had a bag with him. He noticed this and looked at the bag.

"Oh, you're looking at this. This is an adventurer bag. Everyone in this team has one of these. I have a bunch of spare bags. Here, you should have one too." He gave a bag to have. I looked at it. I looked like it could hold just water bottles and other small items that I and _____ may find. I put it on and adjusted the strap. It's a perfect fit around my body. _____ looked at me with the bag on. "What do ya know? It looks good on you Adam."

"Thanks." I replied in thanks. I wondered what kind of adventures awaited for me and my friend.

"Let me show you around." He made a sign to show that I should follow him. I followed him around; he showed all the things that I could do here. He was like a tour guide that tells you where to look at a point in time.

After looking around post town for a bit, he told me about the crossroads that we passed by earlier. "The crossroads are parts of roads that lead to different mystery dungeons. So you never know where you might end up." Sounds like my life, I thought to myself. I do so many different things in my life. And I never know where a particular road leads me to until it's too late or until I reach the end. I feel like my life will lead in a million different directions now the crossroads are here. "Come on let's go to the main square." I was so lost in thought I didn't notice him walking away.

"Huh... Wait for me!" I ran after him. He laughed as he started to run.

We got to the main square a bit of running. He ran straight to a board. He stared at one in particular. I got him, panting as an Oshawott's body wasn't meant for running. He looked at same one my friend was looking at. It was blank, except for one word. 'Save'.

"Save?" I asked. "Save what?"

"I don't know, Adam." _____ replied. "I really don't know." He took it off and gave it to azumarill.

"So you want to go for the 'save' mission?"

"Yes." _____ replied, as if ready for anything. "Right Adam?" I nodded in response.

"Of course!"

"Let me open the gate for you." The gate opened, its hinges creaking as it showed the huge wasteland before us. "The request gate is open. Good luck!"

"Thank you." He turned to Adam. "Let's go Adam."

"Right!" We ran towards the gate as we started our first adventure together. Not knowing what lied ahead.
