Here Be Dragons Chapter 1.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

When Xrohne woke up he couldn't see anything. At first he wasn't sure whether or not he was even awake. That's when the pain kicked in, but because he was a disciplined and trained spy the most that he did was grunt. When his eyes became accustomed to the darkness, he realized he was alone in in some kind of primitive cell that seemed to be made out of iron. Where is Glorne He thought to himself with copious amounts of worry. They couldn't have taken her far could they? If they did then I should still be able to communicate with her. Xrohne was a special kind of dragon, not only was he half Drake, half Sled Dog, but the drake side of him had the ability to communicate telepathically over short distances.

Hello? Glorne? Are you there? Glorne? He would have liked to think that he had heard the barest whisper of a reply. But it was at such a low baritone that he just dismissed it. The cast iron door on the far side of the cell opened, to reveal a pale skinned creature that seemed to be dwarfed by the dragon that stood before him, as Xrohne stood to his full height of eight feet the creature started to quiver. Xrohne walked up to the puny creature, knocked him out, took the keys on his belt, and put the guard into the cell, then locking it. "I need to find Glorne before something happens to her. But I also need to find our weapons."

"Where are you Glorne?" he muttered to himself as he wandered the halls, _if only I could find a map of some kind._When he finally found Glorne, he had taken out three more guards, and relieved them of their weapons and ammo. As he opened the door, he was tackled by the smaller dragon. "Whoa, Glorne calm down, it's me!"

"Xrohne! Thank god! I felt you trying to find me but when I tried to reply you didn't answer!" She exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, I thought I heard something but I was too far away to tell if it was you or not." He said.

"It's ok, wait. What is that you're holding?" she said with curiosity.

"It's one of those primitive weapons they were holding; here I grabbed one for you as well"

"Thanks, by the way I figured out what they are." She said with certainty.

"What are they?"

"They call themselves humans, and when they talked they said that we were creatures from their own mythology." She said

"Humans? Really?" he said not really believing it, "that must mean that at one time we must've broken the barrier before a long time ago."

"I know, I didn't believe it either at first." She said

"Come on, we have to get out of here and figure out how to close this portal." Xrohne said.

"Right."
