Never letting go
It was a normal day in Mobotropolis as the people traveled across street to street to get to their jobs or meet with some friends and for those like Minerva some just wanted to go to the mall to hang out but not before going to the bank.
"*sighs* what a day."
She said to herself giving a casual smile as she waited in line to make a withdrawl when suddenly gunfire rang throughout the building.
"NOBODY MOVE!!!"
Several robbers had raided the bank instantly taking out the security guards while demanding everyone get on the floor, Minerva was beyond frightened as she breathed rapidly trying to calm down as the thugs made their way to the vault while police and swat arrived on the scene.
"Damn it! select a hostage and go out front!!"
"Got it boss....YOU!!"
Minerva was suddenly grabbed by her arm as a gun was pointed to her head, she had no choice but to cooperate as the two walked out front with a huge crowd behind the barricade of police cars. While at his hut Fang was enjoying a cup of coffe while watching tv when the news flashed in front of him delivering a report on the bank robbery.
"This is terrible! the men appear to have a young girl hostage with them and the police and swat teams are powerless at this moment!!"
"OKAY!! here's how it's gonna go: you stay out of our way and this little lady goes free! any attempt to stop us and we'll start killing hostages starting with her!"
Fang was suddenly filled with rage as his eyes gave off a blood-red fire then in a flash he vanished from the room. Hours had passed and the vault was already half empty, it seemed like their plan was going along smoothly until.
"Y'know boss she's kinda cute."
"Yeah....maybe we can have some fun with her after we're done here...heh heh-AAGGHH!!!"
The head thug was suddenly struck in the back knocking him out cold. Fang had arrived on the scene as he blasted the second robber with an ice bolt freezing him where he stood then just as things got quiet more of them appeared holding both automatics and semi-aoutomatic rifles as Fang created a barrier of ice allowing the hostages including Minerva to escape.
A stray bullet struck Fang on his left side as the barrier came crashing down, despite the pain Fang hid behind a desk as they continued to unload their rounds, it seemed like he was done for when suddenly his rage began to overpower him transforming his fur pitch black and his eyes suddenly becam blind with unimaginable fury. He had turned into Shadow Fang.
"What the fuck?!?"
"Now...it's my turn..."
They began firing again only to have their bullets melt in midair as Shadow Fang raised one hand lifting them all off the ground and sending them crashing out to the waiting officers while unkowingly the leader removed his mask revealing him to be none other then Nack the weasel who quickly pulled out his pistol and emptied the entire clip into Fangs body as he turned around.
"FAAAAANG!!!!"
"Gotcha..."
The bullets had successfully hit their mark as Fang collapsed to the ground trying to catch his breath, As Nack flipped him over he coughed up a small amount of blood as his body returned to normal. He smiled proudly as he prepared to fire one last shot into his head when his hand was suddenly shot forcing him to drop his gun. Fox and Falco were part of the swat team and volunteered to help out with the situation.
"Falco radio an ambulance and get this guy in some handcuffs!"
"Got it Fox!"
Minerva came in rushing through the shattered doors in a flood of tears as she held onto Fangs hand, although his vision was blurry Fang could tell she was there as he smiled looking at her knowing she was safe. The ambulance soon arrived taking him to the nearest hospital where he went under immediate surgery.
Hours later the doctor had arrived telling Minerva that she could see him but warned her not to wear him out since he was on a slow recovery, when she entered the room a Chaos emerald held in a special device hung over his chest where most of the bullets were removed while an oxygen mask helped his breathing.
"Hey..."
Fang saw Minerva out of the corner of his eye and smiled but was too tired to turn his head, Minerva sat down by the side of his bed holding his hand still sobbing a little.
"I'm sorry...it's my fault you got hurt...I always seem to get the people I cared about into trouble!...maybe if we never met this wouldn't of happened!"
"Sssh...you're wrong."
Fang said wiping a tear from her face making her smile as she held onto him.
"Meeting you was the best thing that could ever happen to me."
She moved in to snuggle up to him while he stroked her hair then finally falling asleep together, A nurse came in covering her with a blanket while they continued to sleep while in her head Minerva had a wonderful dream.
She found herself in a grassy meadow and the sun shined brightly on her face, it was like heaven on earth and in the grass she saw Fang in her own imagination. He wore bright silver armor and was riding a magnificent dragon that was golden as the sun and as she ran up to meet him Fang dismounted and suddenly sped up to her lifting her off her feet and carrying her onto his dragon.
"You know this is just a dream."
"If it is it's a good one."
She smiled in her sleep not knowing that it was morning and Fang was awake stroking her hair while waiting for the last of his wounds to heal then as the sun rose Minerva awakened to see him smiling on her still showing a bit of fatuige in his eyes then finally his energy returned as the last wound healed up and he was soon checked out of the hospital.
The team was outside to greet him on his recovery, Krystal and Sally gave him a peck on both cheeks while the boys moved in for a group hug while Minerva stood on the side smiling on the happy moment. After a few hours of celebrating the two decided to have a little private time alone on the beach.
"Wow...the sun looks great from here doesn't it? Fang?"
Fang could not help but stare at her in the sunlight as it began to set in the horizon, Minerva walked back to him as he held her close looking at the view.
"Reminds me of Sauria."
Fang referred to his days as a rebellion leader on Sauria during his adventures with Krystal and remembering the events that lead him to meet Minerva then finally the two walked off into the sunset as they headed for home.
