Max's POV cont'd

The Russian then charged right at me, but I would imagine that he wouldn't want to plow thorugh the window, right then I bolted out the front door and started sprinting directly away from the farm into the woods once again. I then quickly looked behind me to see who was chasing me, and I saw five armed angry Russians charge my way, so I kept running.

The thick forest that I was trying to run though only slowed me down, but I could not afford to get caught, so I kept on going hoping that I would lose them. I didn't lose them, nor did they lose me. As I attempted to run thorugh the thick shrubs and trees in the forest, I could still hear them shouting and chasing me.

I then had to make a hard left as I saw another group struggle to chase me from the right. These guys were obviously going to stop at nothing to get me. Now I had about eight angry armed Russians chasing me. Soon enough, I will have all of Russia on my tail. I then continued to bolt through the thick vegitation until I reached another open field, I continuted to dash through the open field and then found myself in a small town.

Eventually I got too tired to keep sprinting, so I had to maintain a fast jog without killing myself. I could see people standing on the side of the street just staring at me and the Russian soldiers chasing me down. Just as I ran to the other side of the town, I saw a T-80 Russian tank facing directly at me. Just then I diverted to my right and ran down a narrow alleyway.

The Russians did not open fire at me, not even to slow me down, they probably wanted me alive and well. They also probably didn't want to start a war between two great powers, even though the relationship between the United States and Russia was already delicate enough.

Just then I reached a dead end in the alleyway, so I quickly jumped up on a dumpster, grabbed a ledge and pulled myself on one of the building's rooftops. I then jupmed up onto a highter part of the roof where it was flat, and then I ran until I hit the edge of the roof. Looking down, I could see the ground thirty feet below.

I then turned around and saw three armed Russian soldiers climb up on the rooftop and aimed their AK-47's right at me. I removed my Beretta 92FS from its holster strapped to my chest and aimed it directly at them. I was shaking, as I had never been in this situation before, and I didn't know what to do, I could die today, or not...

Just then I saw someone who looked familiar rise to the rooftop. It was Viktor.

"Comrade! I'm sorry, I had to tell them! I can't betray my country, and you know that!" Viktor called out.

I understood what he meant, and I didn't blame him, but it confused me as of to why he would hide me from these guys one day, and then give my away the next. Viktor then ordered the Russian soldiers to lower their weapons. I slowly but carefully followed.

"What do I do now?" I asked.

"You need to come with me, we have something to show you!" Viktor shouted from the other end of the rooftop. "But we need to confiscate your weapon!"

"This is my gun! You're not taking this from me!" I exclaimed.

Viktor then slowly approached me and put out his paw "we will give it back when we are done with you."

What the hell did he mean by that!?

"I meant, when we are done showing you what we need to. I promise you we mean no harm, but you have to hear us out!" He stated.

I remained silent as we walked right up to me and put his paw right infront of me. I had to options essentially: Either open fire at the Russians and start an unnecessary war or surrender to the Russians and have them do whatever they wanted to do to me and make it look like I had died in the crash. I've heard that there are slave labour camps in Siberia, and that did not make me feel comfortable at all.

I then took a deep breath, and handed Viktor my gun nice and slowly. "The magazines, and he knife also."

"I mine aswell chop off my tail and give that to you to, huh!?" I said sarcastically as I handed him my clips and my knife.

"There's no need to get all defensive, Max!" Viktor shot back.

Yes there was, just because he was calm about it doesn't mean that I had to be. I didn't say anything in return, as my opinion would only be spoken in vain.

"Okay, okay, maybe you do have a right and valid reason to be angry at me I get it. But you need to come with us immediately!" Viktor stated as he gestured me to come with him. I did not like the idea of going with these guys, I could be walking right into a trap!

I followed him anyways; what other choice did I have?

After making my way down off the roof, I was escorted over to a black limousine. Viktor then opened the door and told me to get in, and so I did as instructed. Viktor sat in the seat infront of me, facing towards me. He then closed the door and told the shofer to go to a nearby airfield.

As we were driving, I thought that I might ask him a few questions regarding what just happned.

"I thought you were retired?" I questioned.

"I'm ex. KGB, active FSB" He said with a smirk. I didn't know whether to be legitamately scared at that moment, or if he was just making that facial expression to try to make me smile back. I didn't feel good, as I was in a very sticky situation.

"Federal Security Service?" I asked to be sure.

"You've done your homework I see" Viktor replied.

"Well, I am operational here you see; so I would obviously have been briefed before being sent here" I stated.

"Enough about me, tell me about yourself" He said.

"How much do you want to know?" I asked.

"As much as you are willing to tell me" He replied.

"Well, I don't know if I can trust you as much anymore" I told him.

"Believe it or not, we're not here to harm you, but if you try anything funny, I will use lethal force if necessary" He strongly stated.

"Okay, if you insist, I will only tell you what I am at liberty to tell you" I began. I wasn't even supposed to be talking to these guys in the first place! Let alone have a nice relaxed conversation about what we do for a living! Although I wasn't relaxed at all, I still told him the basics about me anyways, just to break any awkward silence while on the road.

"If you haven't realized yet, I fly fighter jets for the United States Navy" I explained.

"Ahh, so you have your sea legs and your wings! Why did you want to become a pilot?" He asked in his heavy Russian accent.

"Well, as a kid I've always loved being in the air, my father had this private Cessna 172S Skyhawk that we would take up. Ever since then I've been obsessed with flying" I continued.

"What did your father do for a living?" Viktor asked.

"He too, was with the US Navy" I replied.

After a two hour drive through a small part of Siberia, and a nice casual conversation between us, we pulled into an airfield guarded by easily a hundred heavily armed Russian soldiers. A soldier then opened the door for us and Viktor and I got out of the vehicle.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"Don't ask, don't tell" Viktor stated.

Sitting on the apron was a huge Antonov AN-124 Ruslan cargo aircraft being loaded with large crates.

"Are we going up in that thing?" I asked.

"Yes" Viktor replied.

"But I thought that you had something you needed to show me!" I exclaimed.

"Yes, but we need to fly there if we want to show it to you" He said.

"You could have atleast told me that we would have been flying out of here!" I stated.

"Well, I figured that it would be more fun to just surprize you!" Viktor said with an even bigger smile on his face this time.

"I hate surprizes, they're never good" I replied.

"You are such a pessimist! Just follow me" He instructed. I didn't have a choice, so why bother fight it? I proceeded to follow the fox up to the gigantic aircraft, this was the biggest plane that I have seen in my life!

We then walked up the staircase attached to the jet and walked right inside. Inside was a giant open space filled with huge crates that almost touched the roof.

"You could fit a house in here!" I said. Being a fighter pilot I was used to small and enclosed spaces.

"Haha! Just sit down over there, and if it get's too uncomfortable for you, then just ask for a pillow or something from the loadmaster" Vikor explained. He then made his way upfront into the cockpit, but before he could dissapear I asked: "Where are you going?"

"I'm a pilot too, remember?" He said with another smirk and then proceeded onto the flight deck.

I then strapped myself in as the doors were closing. Shortly after, I could hear the engines roar to life as we were on our way to mystery land.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp object dig into my neck! It made me cringe and I quickly looked over to my left and saw that the loadmater had injected me with some chemical that I obviously did not want inside of me.

"Sweet dreams" the loadmaster said with a heartchilling smile.
