Chapter 1 of Differences.

Differences

Terran Space, Jeremy, 2525: I gear up in my Light-Metal Armor. First putting on the two-piece chest plate and connecting the straps. The chest piece had one large metal plate that depicted a six pack of abs, which I didn't have, and a box-like extrusion for the upper region of the chest where my nipples were located. I then fitted the leggings on. The back armor for my calves connecting to the front. Then doing the same for my hamstring part of my leg. Repeating the same for the opposite leg, then moving onto my armored boots. I then move onto my arms, sliding the plating onto my humorous, then another onto my forearm. I repeat the process on the other arm. I turn to my partner Kiara, my Gardevoir, and see she already has my helmet in her hands. She knows all too well I have trouble getting that on after putting my armor on.

"Thank you, Kiara." I say as she puts the helmet over my head. The helmet covers my face for a second, and the visor is pitch black. But as the helmet locks onto my armor, the visor powers on and I can see what's in front of me. But the helmet also establishes a psychic link between me and Kiara. That way we can talk.

"Why do you have to wear that armor? It blocks my view of your body." Kiara asked as the connection is cleared.

"I've told you before. When I'm going into battle, I wear armor so I don't get shot by the enemy." I told her. I stood in front of her and said, "Besides, it's not like I have this physique outside of my battle suit." I gestured to the abs on the chest plate and the large muscle holders on my arm plating.

"Well, it's not just the armor, it's that black wetsuit too. It just bothers me that it covers everything except for your face." Kiara said.

I looked down at my black wetsuit and white armor, The HUD in my helmet blocking some of my vision. I shrug and said, "I thought you like my face." I walked closer to her and lightly wrapped my arms around her small waist.

"I do. I love your blue eyes, your dirty blonde hair, basically your face in general. I love you, Jeremy." She said. She laid her head against my chest plate, trying to get as close to my body as possible without her heart spike interfering too much. She wrapped her arms around my neck as I set the cheek of my helmet on her head.

"I love you too. Do you want me to help you into your suit?" I asked her.

Kiara nodded and started taking off her dress.

Earth Space, Rachel, 2525: Gunfire rings out. Energy blasts from the enemy. Their psychic powers locating us. Targeting us. It's hell.

"Sarge! We gotta get the hell out of here!" Private Caboose yells.

"Shut up private, and fire your weapon!" I yell.

"But, Sarge-" Caboose starts.

"You hit marine?" I ask.

"N-no ma'am."

"Then fire, your weapon." I said, irritated.

Caboose turns around the bend, only showing about a fourth of his body, and fires his automatic assault rifle. But as he does, an energy beam fires from one of the Terran's monsters and Caboose is hit. He is instantly sent flying to the ground, screaming in intense pain. Then, he's gone. The screaming stops just like that, and his body does too.

"Damnit!" I yell as I lost my last member of my platoon. Realizing defeat, I throw my weapon over the concrete wall I had taken cover behind. I get up and put my hands in the air, slowly putting one knee on the ground, then the other. And soon enough, I'm lying on my stomach as a sign of surrender.

One of their remaining troops walks over to me with one of his monsters. It looked like a huge dog, but it was red. And it was bigger than me even if I stood tall and proud. Its cream colored mane and tail promptly flowing in the breeze.

"Tell me, why do you fight us? What did we ever do to you?" The troop asked. His monster put a huge, fluffy paw on my back. But it was firm, not soft as I thought it should be.

"You haven't heard? One of your monsters killed a mass of our kind. Even after we tried to make peace. It has been Earth's dream to meet extra-terrestrials. And when we did, they spat on us. But we were already on the defensive. So we declared war at the first murder." I explained.

"That's impossible. A pokemon wouldn't hurt a Human no matter what." The troop said.

"Then what have your pokemon done today? They killed my men and women. They're just doing your dirty work. Like a hired assassin, you're despicable." I said.

The troop handcuffed me and brought me to my feet, pointing a handgun at my head the whole way. But I didn't care. I was a marine. I was trained to handle situations like this.

As I walk away with the battalion of Terran troops behind me, I remember the last thing I thought on that battlefield was, 'Why do their pokemon do this for them? Why do they kill? Why do they serve humans when they could do so much better?'

Author's Notes: Okay, so another chapter is out and I am doing my best to keep writing. Cause in this point in time when this was published, I had just gotten out of a writter's dryspell. It kinda sucks... Okay, I guess I should get to work on the next chapter!
