Mercenaries first job
The night was still in the lost city of Rimu; rain pounded the sin filled streets as if trying to wash away the corruption. Whores and bandits roamed as if they were royalty making those who still had traces of purity and standards cower in there homes.
"Ha! Snake eyes again I win ya bastards!" a badger yelled triumphantly seated at a gilded gamblers table, two larger wolfs at both his sides. The badgers name was Sal Namos, a big shot in the twisted city; he ordered most of the major deals and hits among Rimu's citizens.
Kane, a white furred jackal, lifted his head from the bar to see across the room to the badger minding to be discreet about it "Target is fifteen meters from me, how's your position Rio?" he whispered almost silently to his ear piece.
Rio, a tan and golden furred lemur, glanced at Kane then to his target "twelve meters, target is unaware, initiate target?" anticipation heard in his tone. Rio was a fighter no doubt about it.
"No do not initiate, Fend, you copy how are you on the roof?"
Fend, a blood red furred rabbit, was struggling to hold his rifle and keep his hood up "HOW AM I!? YOU PUT ME ON THE FUCKING ROOF IN THE COLD AND RAIN!" The jackal sighed and smirked "yell at me again Fend and ill take your cut"
Totting the rifle onto the parapet, Fend growled to himself "Yea Kane I'm in position, you two funnel him out and ill take the shot, I got a clear mark on the entrance."
Rio and Kane both stood up in unison, a trick used to intimidate most of there hits, the badger being consumed in his frivolous gambling didn't notice the motion but the wolves to his sides noticed immediately, placing paws on the pistols at their sides.
"Rio their packing, from here they look like barretas" Rio placed his paw on the table in front of him "Smoke or flash?"
"They look like they could pull a shot of quickly, flash" the jackal sat back down to throw off the wolves, gripping a throwing knife near his boot. "This is gonna be fun..." he said in a heavy sigh.
Clicking a small orb of his belt Rio flipped the table on its side tossing over to between the wolves "Kane look away!" both the mercenaries looked away as the blinding flash made the two bodyguards and the target go into a stupor.
Flipping the blade from his boot Kane threw it across the bar catching one of the guards between the eyes causing him to fall with a dull crack onto the table where to badger was playing. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?" Sal jumped from his seat and made a dash for the door seeing one of his protecters lifeless. "Kane he's getting away!" Rio yelled sitting behind the table, "We got a bigger issue Rio; Fend will take care of him!"
"YOU TWO ARE DEAD!" the wolf yelled firing upon Kane and Rio.
Sal panted hard knocking other patrons out of his way, he ran for the door as if the devil was after him. "Those idiots are dead, how dare they try to take me out! Do they know who I am?!" he broke through the door yelling "I'm Sal Namos the king of Rimu!"
Fend smirked while adjusting his sights "Well I always hated kings" he mumbled to himself lining up his target in the scopes cross hairs. "And now my liege its time for a reform hehe" he squeezed the trigger, taking the badger down with one blow to the back of the head.
Touching his ear piece "Kane targets eliminated! Oh man you should have seen his head pop!" Laughing while putting his rifle away he waited for a response. "Kane? You there?"
(back in the casino)
Bullets perforated the table Rio was behind causing him to panic to a degree. "Shit... This isn't good..." feeling his body shake "this isn't good..." he kept mumbling his sight starting to
leave him "help... Kane..." the lemur hit the ground passed out.
"Rio!" the jackal shouted to his passed out partner "WOLF! I HOPE YOUR READY TO DIE!" ripping three knives from both boots he jumped onto the bar as the bodyguard was reloading "NOW DIE!" he started with the wolfs arms making him drop the gun and clip. Springing of the bad Kane hit him hard to the ground. "And now for you..." he thrusted two knives into the wolfs throat and twisted causing a minor torrent of blood to flow.
(streets)
Dropping down from the fire escape holding a briefcase against his chest Fend rushed into the casino parking structure and retrieved a black van peeling out onto the street in front of the casino. "Kane I'm picking up hostiles inbound! Grab Rio and let's go!"
"You don't have to tell me twice!" Kane yelled rushing out the front door to the van. He quickly pulled open the back and laid Rio inside, jumping in behind him. "Rio..." he shook his partner lightly causing him to stir but to no response. "Fine ill let you rest..." Kane curled up beside Rio hugging the lemur to his chest. "If I lost you I don't know what I would do" with that he tenderly kissed Rio on the forehead as the van sped into the night.
"So Fend you said the target was taken care of correct" he looked up at the front seat trying not to move much. "Oh yeah Kane he got fucking splattered" Fend laughed loudly before catching Kane's paw in the back of his head "Shh Fend you'll wake Rio" the lemur sighed "Fine ill just get us back to the loft..."
