#22 of Through the Horizon

As promised here is the new chapter of Through the Horizon. I'm shooting for my release date to be each friday. This chapter is adult because of Gay Butt Sex. If you don't like Gay Butt Sex then don't read the story. You have been warned!

Through the Horizon: The Tangled Web

Bane sat in his chair in complete disbelief of what he was seeing. Not only was there a picture before him of his dead body in stasis but his best friend had known and kept the secret from him! A mixture of sorrow, anger and disbelief roared through him like a tidal wave of emotions that threatened to drown him. It was bad enough that he was stuck in this damn war. To discover now his friends were betraying him... Bane stood and pounded his fist into his desk as he shouted, "RON! HOW COULD YOU?"

Ron sat still. He knew that he had hurt Bane by keeping this secret from him. He couldn't blame his friend and alpha for being angry at him. There was nothing he could say to make this better. He couldn't help his friend not feel the hurt he had caused, pulsing through him. Bane stood before Ron, his chest heaving. He snarled slightly as anger tinged his eyesight red.

Ron sighed sadly, ears flattened against his head as he whimpered slightly. Seamus and Dasher sat unmoving and not saying anything. They could feel the wolf's temper was about to boil over. He didn't want himself or Seamus caught in the backlash. They knew Bane was on the verge of losing control, well aware that he needed to vent. Seamus shook his head and sighed silently to himself. He had known Bane almost as long as Ron had. He knew that Bane had but one rule that you never, ever broke... That single rule was to always be honest and never hide anything from him. Ron had violated that in spades with this.

Ron looked up at his friend and alpha, cringing as he tried to explain, "B-bane there's nothing I can say to make this any better or any easier to hear. I didn't tell you about the site because I didn't want you to worry. I was trying to protect you in my own way."

Bane growled bitterly, "By letting that demented cheetah tell me? Get out! Get off my ship! GO... before I do something we will both regret." Ron quickly got up and ran out of the room crying. Bane grabbed up his coffee cup and smashed it against the wall. The ceramic cup shattered, shards dug deeply into his paw. Blood ran down Bane's paw and dripped silently onto the floor. Tears dripped quietly down Bane's face as he bared his teeth.

Dasher stood and walked over to Seamus, where he whispered quietly into his ear, "Hun, I'm going to go after Ron. I suggest that you talk to Bane." With a comforting squeeze of the fox's' shoulder, the cheetah slipped out of the room. He wanted to comfort Bane, it was his mates responsibility now and the fact that he was a cheetah as well, probably wouldn't have helped things any.

Seamus stood and walked over to Bane, where he wrapped his arms around Bane. The wolf jumped slightly, in his grief forgetting he wasn't alone in the room. Seamus gently lifted Bane's arm up and picked the debris out of his paw. The wolf whimpered slightly as Seamus gently tended to his mate. Seamus then pulled a small device out of his pocket. He activated it and it glowed a bright green colored light from its tip. Seamus ran the light over Bane's wounds and they instantly began to close. He healed his wolf's wounds in complete silence.

As the last cut closed, he finally spoke up, "Bane, I can mend cuts and broken bones. I can sew up organs and replace parts. What I cannot do is mend a broken heart." Bane sighed, knowing he had over reacted a bit and whined, "He had no right to keep that from me. He lied to me by omission! All I have is the three of you... and if I can't trust you, then what do I really have?"

Seamus sighed deeply, "Bane, it wasn't his intent to hurt you. He was only trying to protect you. We all know the pressure you are under all the time. We all do everything we can to help in any way we can. I'm sure as soon as he had some answers, he would have filled you in."

Bane walked over and sat on the sofa that was secured to the wall below the rooms' windows. He sighed deeply as Seamus sat beside him and sagged from the tense posture he had been holding. The wolf laid his head on the fox's shoulder and held his mate. Right now, he needed somebody near him that he could trust. Somebody who would never hurt him and his foxy mate was that person.

Ron ran through the bridge and into the lift. He waited as it took him to the deck where the teleporters were. Making his blurry way to them, he brokenly called out to be sent to his ship. Once there, he made his way back to his quarters and locked himself in. He tore his uniform off as he screamed in his self anger, "I don't deserve to wear this!" He screamed into the emptiness of his room, knowing that the soundproofing would let no one hear him. He threw himself onto his bed and sobbed into his pillow.

He had hurt his best friend very deeply. He knew that it would be hard to explain things to Bane when the wolf found out but he figured that he would have time to get some answers first. The plan was to deliver the news, once he understood what the site was and why it was there. It completely defied everything Ron had ever been taught. Of course, their presence here had already shattered his understanding of the universe, so why not break everything else?

The door of his cabin opened then sealed itself. He didn't need to look who it was, the scent of cheetah told him everything he needed to know. He didn't bother moving, why should he? He didn't deserve comfort or relief. He had hurt his friend and lover. Why should anybody comfort him?

Dasher sighed softly to himself at the sight of the sobbing fox before him. Ron had ripped all of his clothes off, his uniform laying in rags on the floor. It was good to see that the fox hadn't hurt himself but that alone was the only good news before his eyes. Dasher sat on the bed and rubbed Ron's back gently.

The fox whimpered and pulled away from his touch, trying to curl in on himself. "Ron hunny, you've got to listen to me. Bane didn't mean those things. He just angry and he lashed out at you." Ron sniffled back, "Dasher, I deserved everything he said. I should have told him! I betrayed him by omission."

Dasher sighed, pulling the fox into his lap and wrapped his arms around Ron. While the cheetah was mild by nature, he was indeed much stronger than Ron and this was one time it showed. Ron struggled fruitlessly against the cheetah's grip and finally lay limp in his friend's arms. He brought his mouth down to Ron's ear and said gently, "Ron, listen to me. Yes, you should have told him. That was a very stupid move on your part. You know Bane and you know how important trust is to him. That said, I understand why you didn't. While I don't agree with how you went about this, I do agree with your overall intention. You wanted to protect Bane, he's fragile. He is under a lot of pressure and you wanted to save the shock of learning this until you had some answers."

Ron nodded as he began to murr softly. It had been so long since he had been man handled by somebody much stronger than him. Bane had Seamus now, so alone time with Bane had been nearly cut off. Dasher smiled as a familiar scent reached his nose. He could tell that the fox was enjoying the feeling of an alpha figure holding him against his will. Ron had relaxed in submission and now he was feeling needful of some domination. Dasher rubbed the fox's chest gently as Ron's sheath began to plump up. While the cheetah hadn't come for sex, he knew that any way of distracting the fox would help him move past this hurt and put things into perspective. Well... whatever it took, Dasher would do to help his friend and lover. Dasher slowly rubbed the fox's chest and tummy fur back and forth. He buried his nose in the fox's head fur and inhaled his lover's scent slowly. He had always loved Ron's scent. Male of course but without the challenge of an alpha type personality. Dasher slowly moved his paw down to Ron's sheath and gently groped the fox's swollen sheath. He gripped it firmly, holding the fox-hood and pinning him down.

Ron moaned softly as Dasher's meat slowly emerged from his own furry sheath. Ron wiggled free of his lover's arms and moved into position so that he could bury his nose into the cheetah's crotch. Dasher gasped as Ron unzipped his pants, then moved his nose into the opening. Ron inhaled deeply the musk of the cheetah and moaned with desire as his meat emerged from its furry home. Dasher unbuttoned his pants and opened them up as Ron slowly licked his sheath. The tip of his meat had emerged and the fox wasted no time wrapping his maw around the cheetah's meat. Dasher groaned as his member expanded itself into the fox's drooling maw. The warm, moist feeling caused his mind to swim with the pleasure the fox was giving him. As his member grew to full size, the fox pulled off and turned around so that his rump was open and offered for his cheetah friend.

Dasher moved up behind the fox and drank in the sight. The fox was on all fours with his tail raised high. He had his head shifted to the side showing complete submission to his cheetah lover. Dasher moved up behind his friend and sniffed his rump. The fox always kept himself completely clean, tho his scent glands added their aroma to the mix. The cheetah drank in the fox's musk as he pealed his shirt completely off and tossed it aside. His pants were down enough to allow freedom, that quickly slipped his mind. He slowly licked the fox's pink pucker. Ron moaned loudly as the cheetah swirled his tongue around the fox's opening. He wanted to ensure that his foxy friend was prepared for the pounding he was going to receive. To hurt the fox in any way, was not a part of his plan.

Once the cheetah had ensured that the fox's opening was wet enough to receive his dripping meat, Dasher rose into position. He pulled the fox's rump against his crotch and ground his meat between the fox's bunns. Ron moaned as the cheetah teased him. At this moment, thoughts of Bane drifted far from his mind. The only thing that matter was Dasher and pleasing him. The cheetah positioned his meat at the fox's love hole and pushed gently until the head of his meat slipped silently into the fox's warm hole.

Dasher moaned as Ron's depths welcomed him. Ron's rump squeezed around the cheetah as inch after inch sank deep into his dark depths. The scent of sex filled the room as Ron and Dasher both began to sweat from the heat their bodies were emitting. Ron moaned as he pushed back gently and welcomed the last few inches of the Cheetah's meat deep into him. Dasher sheathed his meat and held still for a few moments, to allow Ron to adjust to his throbbing erection. Both knew the other would not last long. They were too excited and it had been too long. The moment and passion pulsed through them, almost as hard as their own cocks were throbbing.

Dasher pulled almost all the way out and slammed back into the fox. He held his thrust, forcing himself as deep as he could. Ron moaned, "Oh gods, yes! Fuck me master, fuck me roughly!" These words swam into Dasher's mind as primal lust pulsed through his veins. If Ron wanted this, then he couldn't deny that filling that need would be very good indeed.

He began to pound into the fox as Ron moaned loudly and effeminately. It had never felt right before, with Bane or Seamus or Scott. He had always held back, just enough of himself that he wouldn't slip and let his most private secret out. Each thrust, each moan, each pulse of his meat sent the cheetah further into the fits of passion. He gripped Ron strongly, tho Ron had no intention of getting away. It was just a reminder of who was in charge and Ron gave up without the start of a fight.

Ron moaned as the cheetah had his way with him. The fox's mind swam with pleasure as Dasher pounded into him harder than anybody had ever done. The fox's rump twitched violently as the passion sent him over the edge. His cock throbbed as Dasher gripped and massaged his now completely inflated knot. The fox's cock erupted with all the force a pent up and repressed fox could generate. Stream after stream of hot semen, sprayed onto the carpeting in a growing wet stain. Dasher's own meat throbbed as he buried himself completely into his foxy lover. His cock swelled further as as he came deep into the fox's depths. He poured his essence into the willing Ron, wanting to fill him to overflowing. He held the fox tightly against his chest as their orgasm's pulsed to its end, through them. Ron sank down and rolled them over, so that they were laying on their sides with the cheetah's cock still deep inside him. Ron whimpered with pleasure as Dasher nibbled lightly into the fox's shoulder, claiming him not as a mate but as a friend and lover. Both knew the meaning and it was exactly what Ron needed. It also meant he was accepted, just as he was. The two fell asleep still in the throws of their pleasure. Ron was held tightly and safely in his friends arms, which was exactly where he needed to be right now.

Seamus smiled as he heard his wolfy mate snore softly into his shoulder. Seamus moved gently and helped his sleeping mate to lay down on the soft couch. Seamus then positioned himself on top of his wolf. He laid his head onto the wolf's chest and listened to his heart beat. Seamus knew better than to try anything sexual with Bane right now. He was too sensitive and emotionally vulnerable at this moment. It would only drive him further into himself. He wrapped his arms around his wolf and silently fell asleep while laying on his mate.

Talon sat on the bridge of his ship, racing towards the outpost where Bane was to engage the enemy. The dragon knew that his friend stood no chance against an entire scavanger fleet. Because the enemy had found a way to hide themselves against long range scanners, it was believed that there were at least five ships on a direct path to that outpost and then to the capital. Talon rubbed his forehead, there were so many pieces of the puzzle that made no sense to him. Why would the scavengers attack a research outpost? It had no military significance or it would be heavily defended and need no ships to hold the attackers at bay. It was obviously not a civilian outpost because it had no permanent settlement, so there were no resources for them to take.

He had been unable to get anything out of Bane's government regarding the exact nature of the work that went on there. It worried Talon that there were such secrets but knew it was to be expected. He doubted he could make it to the planet in time to do much good. But no matter what happened, he could honestly say he did the right thing.

Bane yawned as the intercom in his office sounded alert that the bridge was calling him. He looked around and felt the weight of his foxy lover on top of him. He smiled at hearing the fox snore softly. He always loved to hear Seamus snore, it was beyond cute. Bane gently slid out from under his foxy lover and walked over to his desk. He picked up his communicator and activated it to say, "Yes, what is it?" "Sir!", reported the bridge officer, "We are in orbit over the outpost. There are no ships within range of scanners." Bane smiled at the fist good news he had heard in awhile and said, "Alright, keep up scans. Contact Ron and Dasher and have them meet me in the teleport room in the outpost. While we are gone, I want both ships at full alert. We don't know what we are going to find down there. Furthermore we don't know what is headed our way. I don't want to give them the first strike this time."

With that, Bane walked over to his lover and shook the fox gently. Seamus mumbled something about wanting more cock please. Bane laughed silently as he shook the fox again. Bane felt his lover jerk slightly in his sleep and then a familiar scent wafted to his nose. He picked his lover up and walked out of his office and into his private elevator. He carried Seamus to their quarters, to clean up his now creamy fox.

Seamus yawned and realized he was being carried through the hallway towards his room. Bane smiled down at his mate and gently teased, "Somebody had a good dream..." Seamus sniffed and then realized that he had creamed himself in his sleep. He blushed deeply and hid his face against his wolf's chest.

Dasher and Ron materialized inside the teleport room of the station. The few personnel that Ron had working there, had been evacuated when the threat was discovered. Ron walked over to the control station and reset the teleporter for Bane's arrival. He smiled at the cheetah as Dasher walked up behind him and held him while not impeding Ron's work. No words needed to be shared because the intent was clear to both. Dasher could never be Ron's mate and Ron knew that. But he was about the best friend that a fox could ever ask for and Ron felt greatly comforted.

Bane and Seamus materialized on the teleport pad and Ron looked down, averting a chance of a direct look at Bane. The wolf looked at his friend and whimpered silently to himself. He walked over to Ron and wrapped his arms around the fox as Dasher stepped back. This was for Ron, not him. Ron stiffened slightly but quickly relaxed and held Bane in return. Bane said loudly enough for all to hear, "Ron I'm so sorry, I was a complete jackass. You were only trying to help and I was nothing but hurtful in return." Ron looked up at his friend and earnestly said, "Bane, I am the one who's sorry. I kept this from you and I shouldn't have. I knew you needed to know. But I thought I could help if I could give you some answers, instead of just saying, "Hey! I found a dead you."" Bane nodded and chuckled, the fox always had a way of putting things.

Ron led the group though the facility to a large vault door. The door was reinforced and had a force field protecting it. He stood before the trio and told them, "Alright, through this door is the first room. This is actually quite a large underground complex. We don't quite know the exact size of it or what's down there. The chamber where the bodies are, is just the top layer. We have to push deeper and find the defense control room. Once we go in there's no turning back... Bane, are you sure you're ready to face this?"

Bane nodded as he looked serious and said, "I need to know what is behind that door." Ron nodded and unsealed the room. The door slowly rolled away to reveal a hallway with a simple metal door on the other end. Once the four friends were through the vault door, it sealed behind them and the force field reactivated. Ron led them to the second door and through it.

The room itself was quite large. There were five cylindrical holding tanks, each with a body inside. There was one for Ron, Dasher, Seamus, and Bane. Each was drawn to 'their' tank, looking inside at their own face. No, not quite their own faces. Yes, it was them but these looked older, more worn somehow. Each one had injuries that had been attended to in vain. It hadn't saved them but was done more in honor to their mortal remains. Ron had already seen his body before, so he was drawn to the fifth tank, in the center with a yet unknown individual inside of it. Seamus had already scanned the other tanks but as he scanned the fifth, he exclaimed, "My god Bane, she's alive!"

Inside the tank was a female dragon. Seamus said, "Bane, she's quite old but still very much alive. Ron? Why didn't you release her?" Ron shook his head and answered, "The danger was too great. We found a large amount of records in this room about these five and their exploits. They came through much as we did, only they went to a different time. From what I can tell, the rift that brought us here is multi-dimensional. It crossed the boundaries of time, space and even reality. The reason I didn't say anything about any of this is because I have more questions than answers. These five conqueredthe population of this planet and enslaved them. By doing so, they created a paradise of peace that lasted for many years... That is, until the planet died but I have no idea what killed it. The population thought enough of them to create this chamber to preserve them. Why she locked herself in here with them, I have no idea. From what I can tell, the four pods that surround her are only designed to preserve flesh. This center chamber, was designed to actually preserve life. It was intended that she survive."

Seamus looked over the detailed scans of the female and spoke up, "I think I can explain it. Ron, she was dieing. She has a very rare genetic disorder. Her immune system is slowly killing her. It's attacking her internal organs one by one. When she was alive there was no cure for it because the dragon population was still fragmented and warring with each other. The cure was only discovered in our time, because peace allowed funds for research."

Ron walked over to Seamus and observed the data pad as he said excitedly, "That means we can cure her! This condition was cured decades back and now is completely wiped out." Bane nodded gratefully and told them, "We can finally get some answers about some of this, from someone who was there. However, lets be as careful as we can. We cannot take any risks with this, we have enough problems without releasing somebody who can enslave an entire population. Take everything you can. We need readings on all of this. Transport her tank up to the ship. I think we can leave our dead selves here, for now. We need to get out of here before we attract unnecessary attention."

With that Bane's friends contacted their respective ships and began preparations to follow through with Bane's orders. Bane walked over to the tank containing his body. He looked at the old gray furred wolf. This entire situation was enough to rob a fur of his sanity. He sighed as he looked over the body. They had obviously been well loved, or the population would not have taken the time to preserve their bodies or built this tomb.

Bane recalled his trips to Egypt on earth. Many ancient Egyptians took great care to prepare for the afterlife. Often they would create great tombs as a memorial to themselves or their greatness. However, nothing in this room screamed that. In fact the room was rather bare with the exception of the necessary equipment to sustain the life of the dragoness and preserve the bodies.

Bane looked at the dragoness in the center tank. Her name was yet unknown but she was immensely beautiful. Bane smiled as he turned to walk out of the vault. He may have more questions than answers but now he had a good place to start finding the answers. If they survived the next few hours.

Ron walked over to his friend and placed his paw upon his shoulder, "Bane I have just gotten word from the ships. Long range scanners have detected an unusual energy signature headed towards the planet. They are still several hours away but there can be no doubt, it's the scavengers." Bane nodded understanding and said, "We knew they would come. Although I was hoping it was all a ruse created by the humans, this is what we came to see. I wish we all could run but we have to meet them now. I want someone to carry the dragoness to safety while the others keep them from following." Ron shook his head and happy that he could provide good news, said, "While I agree, I may have a way to even the odds for us. Follow me."

Bane followed Ron through the hallways of the underground complex. Bane admired the construction, it was simple yet strong. It reminded him of the original ship that he had come to serve on after arriving in this time. Ron finally reached the end of the corridor and turned to his friend. With a smile, Ron said, "This entire complex is essentially a massive underground base very much similar to what we had on the capital planet. The difference is that this complex is powered by a zero point crystal. The original was close to being depleted but I have replaced it and gotten the base to full power. Our crystals fit this equipment because there really is no other way to make a zero point crystal. Thank the gods for physics! There are several gun placements on the planet that are all fully operational. Whatever killed the planet originally, gave no time for them to be used." Ron opened the door and led Bane into a control room that looked exactly like the one found on his capital planet.

Bane looked around and smiled but had to ask, "We can use this but do you know why this all looks exactly like what we have? Even if 'we' had built this before dying, there should be differences. Alright, get some crews down here. I want the defense grid activated now!" Ron grinned as he sent out orders and said, "Now, you know how I felt when I found all this. There are too many questions and too few answers, or time to find them. Bane, I feel that I must warn you. I have no idea how effective this all will be against the enemy ships. This technology is advanced but much older than ours."

Bane told him, "Understood but the way I figure it, there may be some answers hidden within this base that may tell the story. Why didn't you fully explore the base when you found it? Wouldn't that have been the first and best method of finding answers?" Ron agreed but explained, "Had I gotten the opportunity, I would have. Resources are stretched to the breaking point. I simply didn't have the man power or the time to spare myself to search an abandoned base when I had worlds in danger that needed to be protected."

Bane nodded and smiled at his foxy friend. While Ron had hurt him, both fully understood that. The depth of their friendship would get them through it. Besides if he had told him, Bane would have been distracted further and might have not made it this far. Bane looked around the control room. This would buy them the time that they needed to prepare the capital. Every scavenger ship they destroyed was one that his people would not face after him. It reminded him of the Alamo back on earth. He chuckled as he pictured Dasher as Davy Crockett.

He sat down in the control chair and a holo panel sprang to life. Bane was slightly taken aback, it wasn't expected that the complex would be equipped with holo projection. At least Ron hadn't mentioned it... Bane examined the screen and realized it to be a scanner readout. As he looked yet closer, he realized that it was a readout of the enemy. The base was equipped with tech that could see the enemy ships through their cloaking technology. Bane smiled as he heard Dasher and Seamus walk into the room.

He announced, "We have six scavenger ships headed towards the planet. This base has equipment that can see them!" Seamus smiled as he sat in Bane's lap, put his arm around his mate and told him, "I've read over some logs from just before 'we' died. This planet was the last remaining world in Bane's empire. He had conquered the entire solar system. There were six planets that made up this system, all of which had some form of life upon them. They described the enemy they faced, who were much like our scavengers. They developed tech to see them and fight them but it was too late. The scavengers brought the full force of their fleet upon this world in a surprise attack that drove everybody underground. 'We' were killed in the attack and sealed in the tanks to preserve our bodies. There were a handful of survivors but no one trained to use the defenses. They remained down here but they didn't last long. Soon their supplies ran out and it looks like they decided to take their chances on the surface.

Bane gave Seamus a kiss and announced, "Alright, then lets see what tech we can use to help us. It was too late for them but it might be just what we need. Seamus, I want a full team here as soon as is possible. I want this base fully manned! Bane checked the holo screen and said, "We have five hours before the enemy is upon us. Let's make sure we are ready for them. Dasher, get a crew on the guns. I want them operational as soon as is possible. Ron, get extra crystals here asap. I want to make sure that we can sustain an attack long term. Let's also see if this base has any shielding. If it does, then we can hold out here and send the ships back to support the capital."

Everybody rushed off to carry out Bane's orders. Bane knew that it was a long shot but if the defenses of the base could hold, maybe he could hold out long enough to get the bulk of his fleet to the capital. He sighed deeply, as he considered this was a long shot and he knew it. However, he figured that he stood a better chance in an underground base than in ship to ship combat. Bane sat back in the chair, his chair. This would be the ultimate test of his leadership abilities.
