Chapter 1/Part 2 of The Change! Finally working on it woohoo! I know it's short but i hope to start making them bigger soon. We get to see a little bit more into the lives of our Alex and John in this chapter. Part two should be here in the next day or two.

Dear passengers on the G.M.C. Star Shuttle: Phantom, please relax and enjoy the comforts we have here before you leave. Here you may take a Deep Space nap, or partake in one of our many pleasure chambers, and if you would just like to sit back and enjoy the ride with some music or T.V. we have every selection. If you are under the age of 18, the legal age requirement for the G.M.C., then you must return to your home planet. If you are over 18 and willing to proceed then please put your luggage on one of the baggage racks and buckle up. Thank you for flying with Star Shuttle Services, have a nice flight!

As the flight continued on its several destination points things were running smoothly on the Star Shuttle. Soldiers were relaxing for the first time in months, the stewardesses were happy to be noticed as several of them exchanged contact pins with the Galactic Military personnel, and John and Alex Campbell had grown quite fond of each other. Granted John was a bit more abrasive than Alex would have preferred, but as friends go (which to Alex who had very little) this was an opportunity for networking. So as John and Alex continued talking they became a little more relaxed with each other.

  • John -

"So, Alex, you never told me which system you were from. You got cut off by the engines starting." John chuckled, for when he said that Alex's face turned a light pinkish-red. "Oh come on now! I've told you where I'm from so don't start getting bashful on me now!" The lion said in a jokingly matter. "Well," Alex said rather hesitantly, "I'm ... from the lower middle class system of Kavaarn" he paused, "You might know it as the slave system for how bad the people there are treated." at that Alex turned away from his friend and stared off into space.

John just looked almost mortified. "You're risking your ass in the galactic forces to find a better home ... aren't you?" John asked with genuine worry in his voice. On Felion everyone was given a fair shot of life. The king was just and heavily relied on the people's voice and input to secure that fairness which Kavaarn did not have. Alex just clenched his jaw and gave a short nod. John was about to say something but was stopped as he did a double take on the window right in front of him. "Oh shit."

  • Alex -

"What?" Alex asked his friend in slight confusion, however John just kept staring out into space. Alex snapped his fingers in front of the lion's eyes to no avail. With a sigh he stared back out into space only to see what John saw. It was a solar flare wave that was going through space, nowhere near the Star Shuttle they were on. But this was getting to John so Alex just wanted to make sure everything was ok, but as he called one of the stewardesses over a light rattling happened on the roof and the left side of the shuttle. Almost like a rain fall, except in space that only means either an asteroid field or a debris field. The stewardess apologized and went to the cockpit of the shuttle. Alex looked out the window again but this time he finally understood why John was so upset.

A shuttle got hit by the solar flare and exploded sending debris this way, and not just some of it. The whole shuttle was flying through space towards their shuttle at terminal velocity. The seat belt sign went on and everyone had a couple seconds before the first wave of debris hit their shuttle. By this point everyone knew something was up, the stewardesses were a mess as they made sure everyone was alright. Some of the luggage had fallen out of their placements and as some of the stewardesses started to pick up the fallen luggage the second wave hit, sending the shuttle spiraling into space. The captain's couldn't control the shuttle due to the final waves of debris hitting the shuttle so they couldn't see that they were spinning directly into the tail end of the solar flair. By this point John had fainted, however Alex remained looking out the window and he barely saw what was going to happen. Suddenly a burst of bright orange-red light poured through all the windows and an enormous trembling rumble went through the entire cabin and finally. The power went out with a bang.
