Taro's eyes opened. All of the machines that he was hooked up to began to ping.

"Faline",Taro said in a whisper,his gold eyes growing wide.

"I'm here Taro",Faline said starting to cry again,"I'm right here!"

Taro brought his paws to his muzzle and pulled the hose from his throat,gagging and coughing as he did so.

"Am I",he said staring into Faline's eyes,"son,you see your mother too,right?"

"Yes Dad",'Shadow said crying a bit,"she's really here!"

"I thought you were dead,"Taro said starting to cry.

"I'm not",Faline said licking him and crying a bit still.

I couldn't help but smile as I pulled Adelind close to me.

"You lost your children so something better could come along",Shadow whispered to himself,"this is what he meant."

"We both owe you our lives Tyro",Faline said,"thank you."

"Join the party",I said smiling,"Come on man,let's get you off of that thing."

With help from the five of us,Taro rolled off the table. When Taro hit the ground,he yelped,I heard the bones in his shattered paws give even more.

"Shit",Trent said,"no way he's walking back."

"Then I'll carry him,I said heaving Taro to my shoulders. We walked out of the infirmary,Adelind at my left and Faline at my right. When we got to the barracks,Nina greeted us.

"Shadow",she said nuzzling him,"What was all the commotion about?"

Shadow smirked as he and I stepped aside.

"FALINE",Nina yelled running to her.

"Oh hang on", Faline said gasping as Nina threw her wings around her,"your not as small as I remember!" "ECHHH,NINA!"

"Sorry",Nina said backing off.

"Yeesh",Faline panted,"going to crush me this early?"

Nina laughed,"I'm happy to see you!"

"I am too Nina,Faline replied,"so tell me",Faline smiled,"how have you and Shadow been?"

Nina smiled,"We have a son!"

"So I've heard,Faline stated laughing as we walked to Taro's room. When we entered,I placed Taro in his bed and Faline lay beside him.

"It's been to long since we've touched",Taro said with a few tears rolling down his muzzle,"I've forgotten what it was like to be loved."

"You had Shadow",Faline said,"and you had Nina and Hunter."

"But I didn't have you,Taro said placing his head on Faline's paws,"I've missed you so much!"

Faline licked the side of Taro's face,he lifted his cut head to look at her. I saw the love they had for each other in their eyes. I smiled as I pulled Adelind close. Taro placed one of his shattered fore paws on the back of his mate's neck,and pulled her into a kiss.

"I used to think that was so disgusting",Nina said leaning against Shadow,"but now?"

Adelind leaned against me lovingly. I warped my wings around her as I watched Taro and Faline kiss. After braking it,Taro looked into Faline's eyes,I could see tears running down both there muzzles.

"I...I..Taro couldn't get his words out.

"It doesn't matter",Faline said,"were together again."

Taro sniffled,smiling as he did so.

'If your going to tell me that Shadow and Nina have a son,Faline said returning his smile,"Shadow,Nina AND Tyro already beat you to it."

Taro laughed a bit. I felt a small paw on the back of my leg,I looked to see Tyson with his front right paw on my leg,Taro and Kayel right behind him.

'Why are you up so late son,i asked leaning down and nuzzling him.

"Can you make Taro go to his room Dad",Tyson asked sleepily,"he and Kayel are keeping me awake."

I smiled,"Just take kayel and go back to sleep",I said picking Taro up.

Tyson gave me a sleepy look,yawned and walked back to the room,Kayel following him close behind. I entered the room and a perky smile covered my face.

"Tyro smiling?" Nina said as a smile covered her face,"That's about as out of place as Ator frowning."

Faline,I said as my smile grew,"all I need to say is that your son and his mate did an amazing job."

I opened my wings,revealing Taro to Faline,whose eyes grew wide.

"Oh my god,she half whispered,half mouthed as I set him down beside her. Taro sat on his small haunches and began to stare at Faline through his bright blue and gold eyes. Faline leaned in towards him,her snout just inches from him.

"Hi little guy",she said quietly.

Taro stared at her a little more before balling up,yawning and falling into sleep.

"Man",Faline said placing Taro between her paws,"Shadow,I remember when you and Nina were this small."

Faline turned to me.

"Thank you Tyro,for taking care of my mate,my son and Nina,I used to lay awake in my cell,wondering if I'd ever see them again,all those sleepless nights were made right when you and Shadow came through that door and rescued me."

I smiled,"I was just doing my job",I replied laying down.

Taro,Shadow and Nina,have become family to me.

Faline,I'm willing to do whatever I have to to protect them,even if it means placing my own life in danger."

'Thank you Tyro",Faline said nuzzling me,"Now,I assume you want me to explain the Resistance to you?"

"Yes",Faline said fixing her gaze with mine.

"Wev'e learned that we,Faline,dragons,created for the military,by the military,are nothing less of tools,used and disposed of when we grow old. We are here to fight for those who can not fight for themselves. 'We are soldiers,true soldiers,all of us,human and dragon alike,brothers in arms,who will defend each other with our lives at the drop of a hat. "Many of us have endured bitter physical and emotional pain,myself,my family,my team,Shadow,Nina,my brothers,my sisters,we are no exception. A line has been drawn in the sand Faline,us on one,World War Three on the other. It stands as a swirling,black cloud that must never be allowed to cross. The stakes have never been higher. Lung Wei,whom your son,his mate,Taro,myself and every mistreated dragon once called a friend,an ally,is a traitor,working for the government. He has ruined friendships,destroyed families and lives Faline,he must be found and he must pay for all the senseless suffering and death he has caused. So,I'll ask you this,are you willing to join us?"

Faline stared at me,her icy white eyes locked with my bright green ones. It seemed as if her gaze looked right into my soul,I could see she was trying to decide if I was lying or not.

"I'll do it",Faline said.

"Welcome to the Resistance." I said smiling.

"I'll talk to General Nolan about your Squad placement tomorrow."

"Who's Nolan,Faline asked.

"He's the general of Romeo,Adelind answered,"he was the first ever recurit into project Draco,but when they crossed his DNA,it failed,giving him dragon senses and strength in a human body."

"He formed the resistance after Lung Wei tricked him and Taro into doing it."

Faline turned to Taro,'Then I take it that you are right at the top?"

"You could say that",Taro said,"Tyro is one step above me,the only person he takes orders from is Nolan."

"Adelind and I have got to be going back to our room",I said standing.

"Adelind",Faline said,"I like that name."

"Thank's",Adelind said smiling.

"Let's go tyro,Adelind said wrapping the end of her tail around my horn and dragging me back into our room. We fell into our bed with a low,hushed thud.

"I'm happy for them,Adelind said warping her tail around mine.

"I know,I said warping my paws around my mate,"from everything Shadow's told me,Faline disappeared when he and Nina were fourteen and then Taro followed very shortly after."

"Dosen't matter now,Adelind said yawning,"he has them back,and that's what matters."

Adelind wedged her head underneath mine and begna to trail off,letting out a large yawn. I was trailing off too.

I kissed Adelind's forehead.,"I love you,I said softly.

"I love you too,she replied. After a few more minutes,we both fell off.
