The Time Thereafter

Chapter 1 Part 1

"The Tides of Time"

The time of a few weeks passed as he explored this once great and wealthy city, reduced to all but dust and rubble. Happening over many collapsed buildings and destroyed machines that towered over him, rusted and weathered of their former glory. On his weary path, he came across a small clearing of grass and flowers surrouning a small pond. He crouched low to lap at the cool rfreshing water as he settled to relax, licking a forepaw to clean at his ears.

He yawned as he finished his little wash and found a patch of grass to curl up in before dozing off. And as he slept, he began to dream. The dream began with him standing in the open of a large blackened feild, no stars above and no sun to give light. The small vial arround his neck started to shake and tremble before shattering in front of him. The ground stained green as it seeped into this blackened soil, beginning to melt away the ground to a white abyss.

The hole began to spread quickly, moving to consme everything. He started to run in a desperate attempt to escape from this strange white danger, pushing himself farther and farther. Yet the white abyss was always right behind, the ground collapsing into it's endlessness. He came skidding to a halt as the ground ahead stopped and gave way to white, the abyssal void surronding him before collapsing the ground beneath him.

Sending him plumetting into the endless bright white, globs of the green chemical flying out of nowhere and clinging to his body. He strggled and mewled as the stuff continued to pile onto him as it soon fully encased him, causing him to wake suddenly and shout. He panted heavily and looked over himself, shocked at his slightly larger form and paw like hands. He shook his head and stumbled clumsily on two legs before collapsing to his knees at the pond.

As he gazed at his feline face his gaze drifted to the missing vile that should hang from his neck. His fur a pitch black with green vein-like marking to contrast the dark fur, they began to turn a shade of yellow as he shook his head in confusion and fear.
