#35 of Road Rovers

mild strong language, but nothing too serious

About four hours later, I heard the Road Rovers charge into headquarters.

"Great job, fellas; nice work!" Hunter exclaimed.

"We're unstoppable!" Blitz chimed in.

"Meh," muttered Colleen.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I wish I was. I'm laying here, in bed, alone. I heard Exile's voice, but tuned out what he said. I didn't want to hear what he had to say; I was pissed enough at him already.

I heard my door creak open.

"Jay? Comrade, are you in here?" Oh God. Him. Exile walked over to my bed, noticing a lump under the sheets. He walked to where I was laying, which was opposite the door. He knelt down to see my face. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Tears pricked my eyes. "Why didn't you tell me?" I whisper.

"Tell you what?" He seemed confused. Yeah, right.

"You know what." I snap.

"I obviously don't."

I remained silent.

"C'mon, say something."

More silence.

"God dammit, Jay, say something!"

"You don't love me," I finally mutter.

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"It all makes sense."

"What makes sense?"

"I finally know why you hate Blitz so much."

"Is it because he's a Weird Boy?"

"I'm a Weird Boy."

"No, you're not."

"YES I FUCKING AM!" I shout. Exile steps back in surprise. Tears start to stream down my face. "Exile, I know the truth."

"What truth?"

"Your country is the most homophobic country out of the entire fucking world!"

"What?"

"Oh, don't act so stupid. You know exactly what I'm fucking talking about."

"No, I don't, Comrade!"

I scoff at him and roll over, reverting myself from his gaze. Exile, determined, speed-walked over to the other side, in order to talk to me face-to-face.

"I'm dead serious, I have no idea what you're talking about!"

I sigh in exasperation. It appears he really doesn't know. Geez.

Exile kneels by my bedside. "Jay, I'm worried about you."

I sigh. "Exile, I'm worried about you too. It's just-"

"It's just what?"

"I think it'd be better if we weren't together, that's all."

"What are you talking about? That's absurdsky!"

"I know. But I...I..." Tears sting my eyes.

"Shh," Exile soothes, "it's okay. I'm here." He rubs his right hand through my hair, comforting me.

"Exile, I don't you to die because of me! I'm the reason why you're acting like you're acting now."

"And what's that?"

"So...weird."

"Weird?"

"You're in love with a guy. Me. That wasn't part of your original agenda."

"Some agendas have to change to meet certain goals."

"And what might that goal be?"

"To be with someone that I'll love forever and ever, no matter what." Oh my God. Exile...

Tears start to fall. I lunge at him and wrap my arms around his nape. I let out a huge sob, breaking down on his shoulder.

Exile wraps his arms around me, comforting me again.

"Now now, it's okay. I'm here now, and that's all that matters."

"Yeah, I guess you're right," I finally manage say after a few moments of silence.

"Come, let's get some sleep. I'll be right here with you. I promise."

I nod and shuffle myself back a couple feet. Exile crawls into the sheets and I grasp him tightly as I ready myself for some well-needed sleep.

As I drift, his words repeat in my mind, comforting me.

"I'll always be with you, no matter what."
