Chapter 7

Panting and red-faced, Roan sat up, willing his hard-on to go down. He was mortified when Hukida groaned and came awake.

"Mm . . . what's the matter, Roan? Did the pain in your arm return?" Hukida yawned and sat up. He looked at Roan, then noticed the tent being pitched in the sheets and went still.

Roan flattened his ears and looked away. "Can we just go back to sleep and pretend this didn't happen?"

"Looks to me like you were never asleep to begin with," Hukida said, amused. "So you do desire me after all . . ."

"No!"

Hukida pulled the sheet back, and Roan's dark brown cock was revealed, standing hard and strong from the soft nest of curly fur cloaking his balls. Roan squeezed his eyes shut and put his paw over his erection. He hated it when Hukida kept smiling at him.

"It's alright, Roan," Hukida said softly. "I feel the same way. It's perfectly natural."

Roan laughed dryly. "Is it?"

"For you to desire someone besides your husband-to-be? Yes. You haven't done anything wrong. It's not as if you asked to be here, and in the morning, you will be gone."

Roan pulled the sheets over his erection and breathed, willing it to go down. "So I can leave in the morning?" He was surprised when a sad look crossed Hukida's face.

"Yes," Hukida said, looking away. He lay down again and pulled the sheets up over his shoulder. His back was now to Roan. "I'll get you off the ship. And we'll go home. We'll stop the search for Kilyan."

"Won't you get in trouble?"

Hukida snorted. "I've been yelled at by Iyira before. I'll live."

Roan sighed, relieved. He glanced at Hukida's broad back and wondered why he felt so guilty about getting the male in trouble. He didn't even know Hukida! And what's more, Hukida and the slavers had kidnapped him! They had been unnecessarily brutal, and when he fought back, they put a wet cloth over his mouth and nose that made him pass out. He should be angry! But looking down at Hukida as the older male closed his eyes and tried to sleep, Roan just felt . . . pity.

"My father was really a pleasure slave?" Roan said into the silence. He winced to imagine such a thing. He just couldn't believe it.

"Yes," Hukida answered quietly. "Eleven years ago. He served the chieftess in her court. She prized him greatly. Black wolves are considered quite rare, did you know this? Of course you know it. I bet you've never seen another black wolf outside your family a day in your life."

Still sitting up, Roan nodded. That was true.

"So when your father escaped, the chieftess was devastated. And she knew her personal slave had helped him get away. Aren was publically spanked . . . then left tied to a statue in the garden for anyone to suck."

Roan gasped, astonished.

Hukida laughed to hear his shock. "Oh yes," he said. "Aren was left hard and wanting. Many a wolf was happy to blow him. He is quite handsome and has long been desired by many in the village. I'm sure he enjoyed his little punishment immensely."

Roan stared into space, trying to imagine such a thing. Such a punishment would never happen in the summer village! Wolves were punished with stonings and banishments - not public spankings and head! The same went for the sun village.

"Who is Aren?" Roan wondered.

Hukida turned over on his back. He dropped his paw on his belly, watching Roan's black back and the long mane that fell down it. "He's the pet of the chieftess. He was as infatuated with your father as the chief's slave. As I said, black wolves are rare. Everyone was fascinated with Kilyan."

"The chief's slave?"

"I mentioned him before. Tyne. The miserable bastard is the reason we're here. If he didn't know exactly what your father looked like and where he was from, we might have convinced the chieftess that there was no finding him."

"She could have sent this Aren just as easily," Roan pointed out.

Hukida snorted. "She'd sooner part with her fangs. She loves Aren to death. It's rare that she goes anywhere without him. And she certainly wouldn't risk losing him by sending him all the way the hell out here." He scowled, folding his paws on his belly. "Then there's the fact that Chief Kachada just doesn't trust his slavers. They won't look for Kilyan. They'll spend their time in the sun village attending festivals and getting drunk - the young ones especially. But Kachada's family trusts my family and always has - that's why Iyira is married to him. I'm expected to keep the fools on this ship inline. So . . . here I am." His face darkened. "In this hot so-called paradise."

Roan smiled to hear the bitter tone in Hukida's voice. "Don't you like being here?" he teased, glancing over his shoulder.

"The sun village is . . . fine," the shipmaster answered grudgingly. "But I can't feel the moon in the sky. In my village, you can always feel the moon and its energy. Its _magic._The moon is what makes the flowers glow . . . it's what makes our fur blue, if you believe such stories."

Roan eased down on his back, and he and Hukida lay side by side in his narrow bed. The room rocked gently and the dark green water slapped against the round window. Roan stared at the flickering flames of the candles and wondered if Theo was lying in bed awake as well.

"Do you believe such stories?" Roan whispered.

"Look at you," said Hukida, amused. He put one arm behind his head and smiled at Roan. "So comfortable with me now! So comfortable as to pry and ask questions."

"Sorry. I can't sleep."

"Could it be your little hunger? I asked if you were hungry earlier. I guess I should have been more specific."

Roan bit his lip, thoroughly embarrassed now. "You didn't answer my question," he said, looking gruffly away.

"I believe there is some small grain of truth to all stories," Hukida said and shrugged. "The problem is that storytellers love to embellish, and then the truth is lost amidst their artful lies."

Roan looked at Hukida curiously. The handsome male was suddenly very interesting to him. He could only assume Hukida had sailed often and seen a great deal of the world. What sort of life did he lead? Was it exciting? Adventurous? Did he travel to faraway places, taste foreign foods -- taste multiple lovers? Roan blushed a little. He could never ask that!

But he wanted to know. Looking over at Hukida, he suddenly realized how sheltered his life had been. Until the fiasco with Theo and Enya, Roan had never left the summer village a day in his life! He knew nothing about the world, had hardly seen it or the many wolves who occupied it. He'd never even read a book, but he knew Hukida had probably read every book in the room. And there were dozens of them.

". . . you said you wanted me," Roan began sheepishly.

Hukida swallowed hard but kept his eyes on the ceiling. "Yes," he answered simply, quietly.

Roan glanced at him. "But . . . don't you have a lover at home? A husband? Do moon wolves . . .?"

"Allow tail chasers to marry? Yes. There are no such prejudices among my tribe."

"But there are slaves," Roan said pointedly, darkly.

"Yes. There are," Hukida answered, unapologetic. "Do not judge me by my tribe, Roan. I own no slaves."

"Good."

Hukida laughed lightly. "I am so glad to have your approval - you, who I have known all of a few hours."

Roan glared at him. "And yet you wanted sex from me!"

"It takes two seconds to want sex from someone, Roan. But to want their approval is an entirely different matter. To satisfy your curiosity: no, I have no husband at home. I don't exactly have the time . . . I'm always working . . ." He cleared his throat.

Roan laughed.

"What?"

"You're making excuses."

"No . . ." Hukida blushed a little. "Stop laughing."

Roan couldn't help it. He laughed again, watching in amazement as Hukida's gray cheeks flamed brighter.

"I've had many lovers," Hukida said irritably, "but no time for love. And what's more, it is none of your business."

"I'm sorry," Roan said, though he wasn't sorry at all: Hukida had badgered him into talking about Theo, after all. "I've never had many lovers," he said, not unkindly, "but I've had plenty of time for love."

Hukida smiled. "Then we are the opposite, you and I. No wonder I want you so."

Roan looked away shyly when those pale gray eyes looked at him.

"And you want me," Hukida added, amused. "I needn't ask why you haven't had many lovers. You're a bashful thing, indeed."

"Why won't you settle down?" Roan wondered.

Hukida shrugged. "Why should I? I don't wish to be tied down."

"You should try it some time. It's fun."

Hukida laughed at the joke. "Perhaps one day. If I meet the right male."

"Excuses."

Hukida's face darkened. "And what's your excuse? For not experimenting? That's what youth is for!"

Roan shrugged. "I'll admit . . . sometimes I wish I had," he said, not looking at Hukida. "Theo is so good in bed. . . . I can't keep up with him."

"Theo," Hukida repeated, amused. "The little lover. The one you must return to at all costs."

"Yes . . ."

"What is it you can't do for him, exactly? As long as you look the way you do, I'm sure he won't care."

Roan blushed a little. Theo had said the same things to him over and over. Roan was beautiful and Theo loved him and that was all that mattered - that's what Theo said. But Roan wanted to be good in bed! He wanted to make Theo's toes curl, dammit.

Roan looked over to find Hukida watching him and waiting patiently. He suddenly felt as if Hukida was someone he could confide in. He'd never see him again anyway.

"I can't seem to . . . I want to suck him . . . But I can't get him to come in my mouth." He blushed furiously when Hukida slowly smiled. He sat up and fumbled with his fingers. "I know it's because I'm no good, but he keeps saying I am and that it doesn't matter . . ."

Roan heard the sheets shifting as Hukida sat up, then he felt the warm press of Hukida's hard body against his. "I can teach you," he whispered in Roan's ear. ". . . would you like me to?"

Roan nodded slowly. He watched with a pounding heart as Hukida's paw slid under the sheets for him. He closed his eyes and sighed as Hukida's careful fingers began a deep massage. The older male kissed Roan's neck and shoulder, and his other paw smoothed in slow circles over his chest. He pinched Roan's dark nipple and nibbled his neck with careful fangs. Roan shivered as Hukida's hard thighs closed around him from behind. He could feel the male's hard cock slap his back when it got hard.

"H-Hukida," Roan whispered breathlessly.

Hukida pushed the sheets back, and Roan watched, frowning with pleasure as his dark cock was caressed. He was getting so hard in Hukida's careful fingers, he was dripping.

"I'll teach you to give head," Hukida whispered. "Get on the floor . . ."

Roan swallowed hard and obeyed. He knelt on the floor beside the bed, watching as Hukida sat on the edge. Hukida spread his hard thighs and gestured for Roan to scoot closer. Roan came as beckoned - and when Hukida gestured again, he came until he was kneeling with his pink erection right in his face.

Roan swallowed nervously and looked up at Hukida.

"Tell me the first thing you usually do to Theo," Hukida said quietly.

Roan glanced at the cock in his face. "I usually lick him . . . lightly."

Hukida shook his head. "So you just go right for it? Try building anticipation next time. Giving a blowjob isn't just about using your mouth, Roan. You should touch a male first, make him anxious for it. Here . . ." Hukida spread his thighs a little wider. "Touch my balls."

Roan's lashes fluttered, but he obeyed. Glancing at Hukida shyly, he carefully cupped his heavy balls and massaged them. Hukida's eyes hooded.

"Good, Roan . . . look me in the eyes when you're doing it . . . those pretty green eyes . . . good . . ."

Roan blushed harder. He'd never imagined in a million years that he'd be on his knees receiving lessons in giving head. Hukida's hard body was beautiful, and Roan loved the way his rippling stomach tensed whenever he gave his balls a caress that was particularly pleasing.

"And that place between a male's balls and anus . . . Theo touches you there?"

Roan almost shivered, thinking of all the times Theo had touched that sensitive place. It always drove him wild. "Yes . . ." he admitted.

"Touch me there when you lick my cock . . . go on."

Roan obeyed. His heart fluttered when Hukida grunted. Hukida's thick cock was salty and hot. Roan licked lightly along the shaft, teasing with his tongue as his paw continued to caress. His other arm was still in the sling, and he wished he had both paws so he could touch Hukida's cock and balls at the same time.

"That's it . . . look me in the eye while you're doing it. You have no idea how much that can turn a male on . . . doesn't Theo look you in the eye when he's sucking you?"

Roan couldn't answer: his mouth was wrapped around Hukida's thick cock. But it was true. Theo would suck Roan off so sweetly and carefully, and always, he would look Roan in the eye. It always made Roan melt all over. He felt foolish for not doing the same for Theo.

"Mm . . . you're not as bad as you think you are, Roan. Just use your tongue more . . . oh, shit . . ."

Roan pulled his mouth away: Hukida's cock was dripping precum. His own cock was dripping. It throbbed hard when he glanced up at Hukida's beautiful body. The older male looked down at Roan with hooded eyes. He touched Roan's mane and smiled.

"You're so pretty, Roan," he whispered. "I will definitely name that ship after you . . ."

Roan lowered his long lashes.

"You want to make Theo come in your mouth? Then we will continue the lesson. Gather some spit in your mouth . . . then spit it on me . . ."

Roan obeyed. His hot slobber oozed down Hukida's erection, and he saw the male stiffened a little and grunt. Hukida's cock twitched and the veins stood out stronger.

"Close your mouth on me and suck . . . ah, that's it . . . mind the fangs! And don't forget to touch . . . touch my balls . . . and touch the place behind . . . oh . . . oh, that's it, Roan . . . no, don't stop . . . look at me, pretty thing . . . Such pretty green eyes . . . ah, yes . . ."

"Mm . . . mm . . ."

"Ah . . . that's it. Don't stop . . . shit."

"Mm . . ."

"I would fuck you so good after this . . . if you would let me, Roan. Ah! Ah. . ."

Roan choked as Hukida came in his mouth. His eyes watered and he sputtered to swallow. He could feel Hukida stroking his mane, silently encouraging him. Roan gulped and sagged on his knees, licking his lips. He was so . . . hard.

"Oh . . .," Hukida panted, looking down at Roan weakly. He massaged his soft cock. "If I didn't know you'd hate me for it, I'd throw you facedown on this bed and fuck you til you screamed."

Roan looked at Hukida, torn between astonishment and embarrassment. "I . . . I couldn't," he panted. "It's bad enough that I . . . I couldn't let another male . . ."

Hukida smiled. "I know, Roan. I understand. Come. Let's finally get some sleep." He jerked his head at the bed.

Roan nodded and got up from the floor. He climbed into bed with Hukida, and his lashes fluttered when Hukida spooned him from behind.

"Ah," Hukida whispered in his ear, "but I will not leave you hard and unsatisfied after that. . . ."

Roan frowned with pleasure when Hukida's large fingers found him under the sheets. God. Hukida was so _good_at that. He melted as Hukida slowly jerked him off. He came with a grimace in the bigger male's paw, feeling guilty for his pleasure as Hukida licked his paw clean.

"Don't look so unhappy, Roan," laughed Hukida. "You can now make Theo come in your mouth. The lucky bastard."

Roan smiled. "Thank you for teaching me, Hukida."

"The pleasure was all mine. Go to sleep, Roan."

Roan closed his eyes . . . but he couldn't sleep. He kept thinking about doing those things to Theo. They were things he had always been too shy to do. He had never dared to look Theo in the eye during head before. He always felt embarrassed, ashamed for his lack of skill. But now he knew that confidence was sexy. He would look Theo in the eye, and he would caress his sweet-smelling balls and kiss them and lick him so good . . .

Roan glanced at Hukida when he heard a snort: the shipmaster was sleeping. His arm was still heavy across Roan's chest, but Roan realized this was his chance to get away. For all he knew, Hukida was lying and he would never get off the ship!

Scowling, Roan carefully slipped from under Hukida's arm and sat. He listened. He could hear feet pacing back and forth on the deck above. Hukida had not been lying about that at least: slavers were everywhere. He even heard some out in the hall on occasion. But what was he going to do? Sit here and let them take him? No! He reminded himself that he was a warrior! Perhaps a shoddy one . . . but he was still a warrior!

Roan carefully crept from the bed, pausing every now and then to make certain Hukida had not woken up. When he was certain Hukida was still sleeping peacefully, he hurried to the door and peered out. The hall was empty in the dead of night. Along the walls, several doors stood. Roan glanced back once at Hukida before slipping into the hall. As he made his way, he could hear males on the other side of the doors, talking in low voices, singing, arguing, and laughing. He had passed three cabins when a voice called out to him.

"Kilyan? Kilyan! I can't believe it!"

Roan's ears pricked forward. He followed the voice to a cabin he had only just passed. The door was ajar. Roan pushed it open carefully. He was only going to look, but the sound of footsteps in the hall startled him, and he lunged inside. He closed the door behind him and froze. He was in a small, dark cabin, with only a lantern for light. The lantern held little white candles that were burning down into stubs, and by their dim light, Roan could see that the room was empty but for a few crates . . . and a large wolf sitting in the scattered hay.

The wolf was light gray and very muscular. His body was bulky, his calves round, his thighs hard. He was chained by the ankle to the wall and was kneeling, reaching out to Roan. His pale blue eyes were full of amazement . . . and longing.

"Kilyan? Come closer!" he called hoarsely.

Standing with his back against the door, Roan suddenly realized who the wolf was. His face darkened. And he walked over . . . and punched him down.
