#3 of Cassie's Story

What Harry started has turned into a full fledged story on it's own. Cassidy is on vacation with her family, two weeks at a camping ground with all the extended branches of her large family! She's not expecting anything different than what's happened every year since she can remember, but things have a way of changing on you when you least expect it.

Edit: Sorry folks I realized when I got home that an entire section of writing got cut out of that last posting so I'm fixing it now. I promise it's all there as it should be with this edit. Sorry I got a little ahead of myself this morning wanting to post it before I went to work and missed that parts were not there!

Cassidy is now 14 and a few things are changing in her life, shall we see what happens at the family reunion this summer?

"Cassidy! Wait up!" Lukas' voice behind her some where in the trees made Cassy smile, he was the one who wanted to go fishing he could bloody well keep up with her. Stupid of him to be flirting with the cousins anyway, they didn't deserve his time. "Cassidy!" A glance over her shoulder told her they were far enough from the main encampment that they wouldn't be followed so she slowed down to let him join her. "What's gotten into you today?"

Lukas was a handsome buck, three years her senior and a half foot taller than she was, with the most delicious shade of caramel fur and gorgeous green eyes. She knew why the other does were all over him, but he was her special friend. Every year since she could remember she and Lukas had gone off on these little fishing trips, and every year without fail she'd caught the biggest fish.

"Nothing, come on the fish are waiting." She hiked her pole up onto her shoulder and continued down the nearly invisible path toward their special spot on the lake. It was one of the only things she looked forward to come family reunion time.

Thinking back to that morning she frowned. Mother had been insistent that she needed to take suppressant pills this year. It was a waste of time if you asked her, she still thought it was silly to want to spend any kind of time alone with any of the boys, but mother refused to let her leave the table until she'd dutifully swallowed the small pink pill. Okay so Bobby had been taking them since he was 14 and didn't show any signs of ill effect, but she wasn't interested in the boys like he was the girls.

Still it came with its own perks; she was to have her own tent this year as well as having to take the bitter little pills. That meant she didn't have her little sisters feet in her stomach all night or the gentle snores of her parents almost on top of her in the shared tent. That in itself was a good enough reason to humor her mother.

Lukas pushed past her out onto the flat topped rock that they used as a base for their piscine endeavors. She gave his back a dirty look then took her usual spot overlooking the small inlet and let out a breath of the sour city air to pull in the fresh clean scents of nature. "God it's good to be back!" She flashed her cousin a smile, then sat down to start fiddling with her rod and tackle. "What do you want to bet this year?" It was a little ritual they had, every year it was the same, whoever caught the largest fish won and the other had to carry both their stuff back to camp. She'd never had to carry anything back and was always teasing him about it.

Lukas frowned down at her for a moment then the strangest look flashed through his eyes. "Same conditions for winning, who ever gets the biggest fish, but I want to change the terms if I win." He sat beside her still looking at her with that odd glint in his eyes.

With a shrug she nodded, "Sure but it's not going to make a difference you know I always win. I'm sticking with the usual; when I win you carry everything back to camp." She drew her arm back and flicked it forward again casting her now baited line out into the deeper part of the inlet.

For a moment Lukas didn't say anything, so she turned to look at him her ears perked up. He actually blushed before he cleared his throat and said, "That's fine, but if I win I get to kiss you."

For a moment she just stared at him her heart pounding so fast she was afraid it was going to leap out of her throat. Had Lukas just said he wanted to kiss her? She shoved that away, it didn't matter if he said he wanted to throw her in the lake she was going to win like always. "Fine." She turned her attention back to the water watching her float as it bobbed on the gentle waves stirred up by the breeze.

For a moment she could feel his eyes on her, then he sighed and echoed her, "Fine." He busied himself with his rod and tackle for a bit before casting his line into the water beside hers. Cautiously she looked at him out of the corner of her eye and tried not to let the little smile she couldn't help show too much. It made her tingle a little all over just thinking about him wanting to do that with her.

They set up Lukas' little scale, it hung from a branch on one of the trees and had a little sling you put the fish into so it could register the weight, then it spat out a little slip of paper with the date on one side and the weight of your fish on the other. They always added notations about the length and girth of the fish as well incase they needed a tiebreaker and always put their initials on the slips. When they finished measuring their catch they always set them free again, after all what good would it do to keep a fish that you couldn't eat? Besides this was more about the contest than anything else.

They sat enjoying the breeze, the sun and each other's silent company as they had any number of days in summers past. The morning went on as usual with each of them catching their share of fish and taking turns marking the little slips of paper with the length and width of their catches as well as carefully putting their initials on them so there wouldn't be any cheating.

As the day wore on the heat started to grow making them both uncomfortable, but it was Lukas who took his shirt off first, showing the well defined muscles of his chest and letting out a sigh of relief. Cassidy was always more body conscious than him so it took another half hour or so before she stripped her shirt off leaving her in the small top to the first bikini bathing suit her mother had ever talked her into purchasing.

Lukas did a double take; he was used to his little cousin being in a one piece that covered nearly as much as her shirt did. "Hey, you're looking good Cassy, when did you decide to get all grown up?" He commented scooting closer to her on the sun-warmed rock. "That's a new look for you." He leered at her playfully raising his eyebrows and making a pretend grab for her chest.

"Knock it off Lukas, Mom made me get it!" Nervously she adjusted the small green bikini top a little making sure that she was completely covered. However in the deepest secret places inside her heart she was pleased at his reaction. She'd indeed grown up some since last summer, as the top showed. While she wasn't close to having the kind of tits that most of the bucks drooled over she had enough to fill the top out and leave a little shaded valley between them.

Lukas had gotten pretty good at reading does over the last three years since he started taking the suppressants. Girls got their own tents when they reached fourteen but the boys starting being invited to share those tents. The only issue was that you had to coax the doe into inviting you which meant you had to learn to read her signals. Until today he didn't think Cassidy had any interest in him as anything but a friend, until she started getting jealous when he was talking with Serena.

She noticed him peeking at her now and then through the morning, and it made her feel kind of good to know that he liked the way she looked but at the same time made her wish she'd kept her shirt on to cover the skimpy (to her mind) little top. Finally around 11:30 both of their tummies rumbled. They looked at each other and started laughing.

"Guess that means its time to go huh?" Lukas said starting to reel in his last cast. "I could do with some of your Mom's grilled veggies right about now." It wasn't surprising that Lukas was talking about her Mom's cooking, the two of them either ended up at her parents or his for lunch when they were fishing.

"Well let's get this packed away and then you can carry everything back." Cassy couldn't help the smug sound that had crept into her voice, after all she always won there little contests. Though this time she didn't understand why but there was a part of her that hoped she didn't win.

Once they'd put everything away and made sure they hadn't left anything behind she pulled out the slip of paper from her pocket that had her biggest catch of the day on it with a flourish. "Read it and weep!" She was pretty confidant that she'd beaten him again after all this one was larger than the last one she'd beat him with last year.

What Cassidy hadn't known and hadn't been counting on is that Lukas took great pleasure in letting her win, he always thought she got so pretty when she was excited that she'd won that he never had the heart to show her his real winner, always picking something that would come in just under the largest fish she'd caught. This year it was different, he had something on the line that he really wanted so he pulled out the slip of his own largest catch and just handed it to her.

It took a few moments before Cassidy realized what she was seeing. Her eyes widened and her heart sped up as she stared at the numbers on the slip of paper. This was clearly at good four ounces more than the one she'd caught today an inch longer and an inch and a half larger around. Her trembling fingers flipped the paper over to see if he was playing tricks on her but no the name of the scale was printed on the back along with today's date.

She looked up into his calmly waiting eyes and blushed. "But... how...?" Again she looked at the little slip smoothing it between her fingers to better read the damning information. She'd lost. Not only that but he'd won!

"Cassy?" He was speaking softly, like one might to a frightened dog or a scared little kit. His hands came to rest on her shoulders strong fingers (when did his hands get so big and strong?) wrapping around the curve of her shoulder and pulling her slightly forward so she'd look up at him. "You don't have to do this..." He sounded so patient, so concerned that it was like a slap in the face to her.

She'd lost fair and square, she wouldn't back out of a bet! Her back stiffened and she dropped her hands to her sides. "No, you won and you should know by now I never Welsh on a bet." She swallowed hard as she looked up into his face, he looked so serious but there was something else too something that made her breath catch and a warm tingling feeling start low in her belly.

"Cassy..." He just looked at her for a while, that look making the warm feeling grow until she felt like she was going to burst if he didn't do something. He was only about six inches away from her but it suddenly felt too far to her when he whispered, "I've wanted to do this for so long..." She couldn't help it between the feel of his fingers on her bare shoulders, his breath touching her face and the warmth that was growing in her lower body spreading to her bust and more importantly to her nipples, making them hard and tingly, she had to close her eyes.

He waited another few moments before she felt him slowly leaning down toward her. She was trembling all over now, even her legs, so much so that she was afraid she wouldn't be able to stay on her feet much longer. Then he did it!

She felt his breath first, the warm sweet scent caressing her lips and ruffling her fur up close. Then a heartbeat later the smooth slightly damp feel of his lips against hers. It was like he sent an electric shock through her that connected the warmth low in her belly with her tingling nipples and her warm lips into a single whole! She made a sound she'd never made before, a soft whimper that turned into a moan half way through. Without thinking at all about what she was doing her hands found his bare waist just above his shorts and held onto him.

His head tilted to the side and more of his lips touched hers making the sensation build up inside her faster. She could already feel the bottom of her new bathing suit getting wet, feel the way her body tightened up and the tingling increased. She knew something was coming, something big and momentous but she was afraid.

His hands started to move from her shoulders around to her back and she panicked! She shoved him away suddenly, whimpered and turned to run from him as fast as she could. "Cassy!?" She heard his voice calling behind her but she couldn't stop! "Cassy wait!" Her legs knew the way back to the camping ground which was a good thing because she could hardly see through the tears in her eyes as she bolted as fast as she could up the little pathway. She didn't stop until she was inside her new tent with the door zipped closed and her face buried in her pillow.

Momma had to have seen her come bursting into the camping ground and diving into her tent, she could hear the older female over by where the grill was set up. A few minutes later she heard Lukas come up, it sounded like he was running as well.

Momma's voice, "Lukas, good to see you, lost again I see."

Then Lukas sounding out of breath like he'd run almost as fast as she had. "Yes Ma'am, I guess I'm just destined to lose when it comes to your daughter." There was a sadness in his voice, that Cassy didn't like hearing.

"Oh one of these days I'm sure you'll get your fish young buck. Are you staying for lunch today?"

There was a long pause, during which Cassy held her breath, she didn't know if she wanted him to stay or if she wanted him to go away and never come back. When she heard his voice again she clutched the pillow tighter. "I don't think so today Ma'am Momma said she had some thing special for lunch. I was supposed to invite Cassidy, you know since she's fourteen this year and all but I guess she doesn't want to come right now."

Her body curled up into a little ball around her pillow, she loved Lukas' family almost as much as she loved her own but could she face him after... after what happened? No, it was better this way! She never had to see him again! "I'll let her know you were asking about her Lukas."

There was another pause in the conversation before he spoke again. "Ummm... would you tell her please that I'll be at the bon fire tonight if... if she'd like to come and sit with me?" He sounded... sad?

"I will Lukas. Have a good day dear." Then he left, just like that he walked away, she heard him! How could he just walk away when she felt... she didn't know how she felt right now! It was all so confusing!

A few moments later she heard a scratch at the door of her tent and Momma called out softly, "Cassy open up love." Slowly she moved to do what her mother told her. The zipper came down and her mother slide into the tent, closing the zipper back up behind her. Then Cassidy was in her arms crying brokenly with no idea why she was crying at all! It took a while before her tears subsided and she could look up at the woman holding her close. "Better my love?"

She nodded slightly though she made no move to get away from the warmth of her mothers arms. "Can you tell my why you ran away from Lukas today honey?"

Could she? She wasn't entirely sure herself why she'd run from the older buck, just that she had to. "I don't know Momma, I really don't. I mean one minute we were fine and laughing and cleaning up like always and then... then..." She'd thought all the tears were dried up but she could feel a lump forming in the back of her throat and more tears welling up in her eyes.

Her Mamma was an amazing doe to say the least she looked down at the tear streaked face and put two and two together. "He kissed you?"

Cassy nodded slowly, she never knew how her mother knew what was going on inside her just that the older doe always seemed to. "We made a bet and... I lost!" She sniffled reaching for her box of tissues and blowing her nose before she started to get snot all over everything. "I never lose!"

Momma let her move but didn't stop holding her. "Ah Cassy my love, did you want him to kiss you?" She brushed long dark brown strands back from Cassidy's face and watched the storm calm in her eyes.

"I don't know Momma, I mean part of me kinda did, but it's Lukas! He's never been like that!" It was like a betrayal of sorts, Lukas was safe, he wasn't like the old uncles who watched all the pretty young does and counted the days until they turned fourteen and were finally eligible, he was just her fishing buddy the guy she could still beat in wrestling and run circles around. He wasn't supposed to make her feel... feel... like this!

Momma flipped the wet pillow over and lay down pulling Cassy with her. "Oh Baby, we all grow up someday. Lukas has been looking at you that way for a long time now. He's not a bad boy, he just loves you sweetie." This was all news to Cassidy! Lukas loved her? When did that happen? Why? How could he? He was supposed to be her best friend not some love sick buck who wanted in her panties! "Now don't go stiffening up like that Cassy, sometimes it happens that boy's fall in love with girls. It's normal and natural. If you don't love him that's one thing but if you do care about him you can't hurt him. If you don't want to kiss him you don't have to but make sure that you tell him that in a way that doesn't upset him too much. If he's the boy I think he is he'll accept that and go back to being just friends."

Cassidy lifted her head to look into her mother's eyes. "What if I don't want to go back?" It came out as a confused whisper, as some of the feelings she had when Lukas kissed her bubbled up inside her again.

Momma smiled softly at her and hugged her closer. "That's even easier my little love. If you don't want to be just friends then you go sit beside him at the fire tonight." Momma made it sound so simple.
