#1 of Phil and James

"Shit. 6:45 already?" thought Phil, looking over his shoulder at the clock on the wall as he layed out the large plastic sheet over his guest bed, trying extra hard to avoid singeing it with the burning Pall Mall dangling from his lips. The 21 year old snow leopard was excited about babysitting his best friend's son, who was supposed to arrive punctually at 7 o'clock.

He and Fred had met in grade 3, and had been inseparable since, and the "unplanned miracle" when they were only 14 only cemented this friendship. They had been drinking in Alex Thompson's back yard, when a certain blue vixen named Alice started getting a little friendly with a certain red fox named Fred. Nine months later, a healthy, handsome blue fox named James was born.

Never the fair-weather friend, Phil did everything he could for his friend. He convinced his mother to give them his old baby clothes and crib, he shared his own old clothes, games, music, and cigarettes with him, and even kept Fred and Alice from breaking up a few times. Eventually, they got married, got stable jobs, and bought their own place, but the Leopard and the Fox always stayed in touch.

Now it was time for Spring Break. Phil had the week off, James had the week off, but the young fox's parents were going on a business trip upstate for, to quote Fred, "Sunday to Wednesday, at least. More if things go well." Phil couldn't deny it, he was lonely, given his condition. He liked cubs. A lot. Although he tried to deny it for a long time, dating boys and girls his age, the leopard had to face the fact that he loved the soft belly-fur, cute faces, and childlike innocence that can't be found in adults. Although that particular breed of love was still frowned upon, there had been a lot of progress in making Cub/Adult relations more acceptable. There was even talks of lowering the age of consent to 14 in his state. He was excited about the possibility of making James his special friend. So much so that he was willing to risk his guest mattress to the cub's bed-wetting problem.

He fitted the top sheet and blanket to the bed and looked at the clock. James would be here in five minutes. He did a quick sweep around the house to make sure all of his adult paraphernalia were well hidden and locked up. Satisfied, he made his way down the stairs just in time to hear a knock at the door. Just as he was about to open the door, it swung open and he was tackled by a familiar blue ball of fluff.

"Uncle Phil!" James shouted, wrapping his arms around the startled black and white kitty. "Ooof! Hey, kiddo!" replied Phil, straining to lift him. "Damn, you're getting big." "See? I told you vegetables are good for you." Phil looked up to see Alice smirking in the door-way. "Yeah, yeah, yeah" groaned James disinterestedly." The leopard walked over and gave the blue vixen a hug, to which she responded with a kiss to each of his cheeks.

"How have you been, Alice?" asked Phil. "Nervous about leaving my baby for a whole week." responded Alice in an exaggeratedly worried tone, causing the young kit to blush and whine "MOOooooOOOM!". Phil and Alice both snickered softly as she handed him a few bags. "Alright, here's his clothes, a bag of diapers, his inhaler, aaaannndd..." the vixen drew out the syllable as she fished around in her pockets, before pulling out a piece of paper "...numbers you can reach us, plus our family doctor. Fred is at the airport already, so I've gotta run." She leaned forward and placed a kiss on her son's forehead "I'm going to miss you so much. Behave yourself for Uncle Phil, alright sweetie?" Phil had to think very un-sexy thoughts as he watched that cute bubble-butt wiggle, for fear of tenting then and there. "Ok Mommy, have a nice trip!"

And then they were alone. "So, now that she's gone, how about some pizza?" Phil smiled sweetly at the young fox. James jumped up and down excitedly "Yeah! Yeah!" The leopard giggled at the excited little fox. "Alright, you get changed for bed, and I'll order it." James nodded and went off to the guest bedroom.

Phil knew he was in for a fun few days.
