He asked again, folding his arms together as he looked down at the fire, watching the flames dance and crackle in the hut.

Aloina touched a hand against his cheek, gently turning his face so he's looking at her. "You were doing what you thought was right," She said trying to cheer her husband up, but it didn't seem to work as Kel let out a sigh and looked back into the flames.

"If it was right, then why do I feel like it was the wrong thing to do?" he asked in a low voice, one filled with regret.

"Maybe you could go see him again, I mean it's only been two years," She asked as Kel got up from the chair and paced around the room.

"That will never work," he responded sadly, still pacing. "He probably hates me now for breaking his heart."

"Kel there is one thing that I know is that Zaldon will always love you," Alonia smiled; getting up and kissed Kel on the lips, "He won't hate you forever and it won't hurt seeing him again," she added as Kel placed his head on top of her's.

"Still I broke his heart and sent him on his way," Kel closed his eyes tightly trying to stem the coming tears. His wife's soft hand then caressed his cheek slowly,

"Well then get some tree sap and put it back together."

Kel smiles warmly down at Alonia; wrapping his arms around her, "I'm still don't think it's a good idea.,"

"At least promise me you'll think about," She asks placing another kiss on his lips. Kel gave another sigh, he wanted so much to say no, but how can he when his wife is asking him like this.

Realizing It was useless he nods, "Promise," Kel said, kissing his wife deeply and hugging her tightly to him for a good long while.

"Let's go to bed," Kel gestured leading Alonia to their bedroom. They laid down and cuddled together under their sleeping furs.

Kel then looked up at the ceiling with Aloina's head resting on his shoulder, thinking about that day a few years back that he told Zaldon that he didn't want to be with him anymore, since at the time Kel thought Julyan, a silver wolf, they met in the sun village would make him happier.

Letting out a long sigh as he also remembered how destroyed Zaldon was when they went their separate ways, rubbing his forehead, Kel looked back up at the ceiling as sleep slowly took him with one last thought, "why did I do it?"

Kel smiled as he watched the scene play out, Oh how he loved his family and would do anything for them. Not too long ago he was doing the same thing with his own son, back when things were good.

"So mom tells me you are thinking of seeing Zaldon again," Kilyan said, knocking his father out of his train of thought. He leaned down kissing Roan on the forehead which made the little wolf giggle in delight.

Kel lets out a sigh and turns to face his son, "Yeah I have but I don't know if I should after the way I treated him." Kel then wiggled a finger against Roan's stomach making him giggle and squirm.

"Dad just start small, I think Zaldon won't mind settling on having you as a friend again," Kilyan said looking at father, straight in the eye, "plus I miss hearing his stories," He added.

Kel smiled softly remembering how mesmerized Kilyan was when Zaldon told him all sorts of stories about his travels.

"Maybe we could be friends again," Kel said thinking that at least rebuilding their friendship would be a step in the right direction.

"You can be stubborn sometimes Dad," Kilyan chuckled as the food was served.

Ohana took Roan from Kilyan as the two females sat down at the table, Kel chuckled, "I know," he said biting his lip as he crosses his arms, weighing the pros and cons in his head. He didn't need to think that long as the answer was clear as day.

Kilyan had just put his spoon in his mouth when Kel said, "we'll leave in the morning," Kilyan almost choked on his food, before looking at his father.

"Really," he asked, his wives and mother were staring at him intently.

"Yes I'm not gonna like it, but it would be good to see Zaldon again," Kel nodded as he ate.

Kyilan and Alonia smiled at each other, "You won't regret this dad," Kilyan said while Kel smirked as the family ate together soon after Kel and Alonia walked home together.

"Roan is getting big," Alonia said beaming with pride over her first grandchild.

"Yep he's gonna be big and strong when he grows up," Kel hugged his wife to him, keeping her close in his loving embrace.

Alonia looked up at her husband and smiled, "hasn't changed a bit," she thought, "Kel do well to enjoy your trip ok for me," she said giving her husband one of her looks that would make him melt against her.

Kel chuckled, "I'll try my Alonia," he said as they turned in for the night.

The next day Kel stood at the one of the gates of the summer village that faced the direction of the sun village, Kylian was standing next to him.

"Are you going to be alright dad," Kilyan asked looking at his father.

Kel sighed, "I don't know we'll see what happens," just then Loryn and two other wolves came to meet them. one was Kenno Kyilan's closest friend in the whole village. Keeno ran up to Kyilan. Keeno stood at the same height as Kyilan with tan fur, and a white strip going down his chest.

The other wolf was Yzlo Keeno's father, and Kel's childhood friend that had volunteered to come with them, "Now Keeno you aren't going to hit on every female in the sun village," Kyilan joked making Keeno punch his friend in the shoulder.

"You know Zalia would skin me alive," Keeno said knowing full well Zalia, Kilyan's sister, would do it in a heartbeat.

"That's my girl," Kel beamed as Loryn and Yzlo both let out a chuckle or two but Yzlo gave Kenno a stern look, "I'll keep an eye on him," Yzlo said giving Kenno a squeeze on the shoulder.

The group laughed again before they set out on their way, "So what's the sun village like," Keeno asked Kyilan who smirked, "It's like the summer village but the huts are made out of clay stone instead of wood like ours," Kyilan said describing the sun village to kenno as they made their way through the forest. Kyilan and Kenno listening in awe as Loryn told them stories of their youthful days.

They made it to the edge of the forest by the time the sun started to set. they set up camp looking out towards the waste land. Kilyan sat next to his father eating some pork that had been cooked over the fire, "When we reach the gates I'll do the talking," Kel said.

"Are you sure? I could sweet talk one of the guards," Loryn joked, wiggling his eyebrows, which caused kel to roll his eyes.

"I'll do the talking," Kel said in retort, and Loryn smirking rolled his eyes in return.

Kilyan and Kenno both laughed as Yzlo gave a small smile they continue to eat and talk for a few hours.

"Kenno and I will take first watch," Yzlo said gesturing for the others to get some sleep.

Kel nodding rolled his sleeping fur next to his Sons and who had already drifted off to sleep. Kel smiled following suit sleeping next to Kilyan until it was their turn to take watch.

The next day the group made their way through the waste lands Kel the whole way was in deep thought on how he was going to talk to Zaldon when they got there. Upon seeing the sacred stone pillars signaling they were almost to the sun village they decided to take a short break.

During the time Loryn had moved off on his own. Everyone knew where he went. He was visiting the site where they had buried Eno. Upon Loryn's return Kel got up wrapped an arm around his friend whispering encouraging words to his friend.

Loryn smiled giving Kel a hug "I'm fine, don't worry about me.".

"You sure?" Kel asked only to receive a nod. "Ok let's go." they packed up and set off once more.

It took them a few hours but soon the large gates of the sun village slowly came into view, like the summer village, the gates were guarded by a dozen sun warriors. One of the guards saw them coming and signals them to halt.

"State your purpose in coming to the sun," the guard demanded as the others looked at Kel.

"Were friends of Sorcerer Zaldon and here to visit him," Kel answered coming forward, which the guard nodded to.

"Very well then you may enter," stepping aside, but just then a cloud of smoke bursted forth out of no where, making the group of wolves cough as the smoke cleared two large white wolfs stood next a much smaller wolf with black fur wearing the cuffs of a sorcerer.

At first Kel thought it was Zaldon, but getting a closer look it was Lynny Zaldon's younger brother who look exactly like his older brother but he had the look of command on his face while Zaldon had a more gentle look to him.

Kel then winced a bit as the other white wolf standing next to Lynny was Bayne, the brothers elderly estranged father.

Upon seeing Kel, Lynny trotted over happily, "Well, well it looks like someone finally convinced you to see my brother again," Lynny said with a grin as the two shook hands. Bane limbed over with the sorcerer in toe.

"Yeah they were non-stop," Kel said pointing mainly at Loryn.

Loryn let out a chuckle as Kel turned back to the guard, "There with us," the guard nodded allowing the group pass through into the village, "So who's the sorcerer with you Lynny," Kel asked as the sorcerer smiled and waved at them.

"O that's Zaheer he's a distant cousin that agreed to transport us here to see Zaldy," Lynny said gesturing towards Bayne who was walking steadily with them.

Lynny looked back at Kilyan, "How's my daughter son," Lyrnn asked making Kilyan smile, "O she's doing great though she's a little more moody now since she's with our child," Kilyan said with a beaming smile. Lynny returning the smile before turning to Kel.

"So are you going to kiss and makeup with my brother," Lynny asked with a smirk on his face, making Kel roll his eyes.

"We'll have to see," Kel responded as Kyilan looked at his father with concern.

Bayne perked up a bit, "Thought Zaldon married that pussy warrior what was his name," He said clicking his tongue against his teeth as he limped along, "Julyan," he finally said as Kel bit his tongue at the old wolf's words.

"Dad!!! you promised," Lynny said as he turned his head sharply at Bane.

"I promised to be civil with my son, but that doesn't extend to everyone else boy," Bayne said with a sneer, "So you're in love with my son aren't you summer brat," Bayne looking darkly at Kel who clenched his fists trying to calm himself down.

"buttfuckers," Bayne said under his breath. Lynny gave his father another stern look and they spent the rest of the trip to Zaldon's house just to find it surrounded with warriors and Julyan in the front on his knees and his face in his hands.

"Julyan!!!!," Kel yelled as he pushed his way ahead of the group and made his way through the sun warriors,

Julyan looked up his war paint smeared from his tears, his eyes wide seeing Kel, Julyan ran over to Kel still tears in his eyes, "Oh Kel you came I knew you would one of these days, " he said hugging Kel.

Kel looked over to see the door to the house had been blown off it's hinges, "I'm happy to see you too Lavender eyes," Kel said using Julyan's nickname.

"Kel I have something to tell you," Julyan said in a half sob.

Kel finally putting two to two together, "Where's Zaldon," Kel asked, Julyan choked back a sob, "He's gone Kel," he finally answered.

Kel took Julyan by the shoulders and shook him his eyes brimming with tears, "What Happened!!,".
