Decided to re-post the last story I finished...Its hip to be square as a mini celebration type thingy due to getting a small commission.

Please enjoy the story and don't be afraid to leave hints in the comments on how I can improve my story writing :)

A small creature padded through the newly built marble hall, a small light emitting from the dim torch she held in her paw, the only sounds to be heard were the storm outside and her paws on the floor. Soon she reached a room with a high ceiling that contained a make-shift bad made of blankets and an old mattress, the black furred fox clambered onto the lumpy creation. She sighed happily as she curled up on top of the torn blankets, she was rather proud of herself for managing to finish her small self-built castle. She placed the burning torch on the stone brick floor where it stayed upright despite having nothing to support it, the fox slowly laid her head on the musty mattress thinking sleepily 'first thing tomorrow I'm going to make myself a proper bed'. Not long after she this thought the vixen gently closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

It seemed like she had only been asleep for a couple of minutes when a roll of thunder and a loud thud woke her with a start, the vixen eeped quietly and looked around the darkened room. Her torch had burnt out but she could still see pretty well without it, she slowly stood on all fours and looked towards the hallway "h-h-hello? is someone there?". She slowly padded across the room into the corridor, her ears perked as she heard another thud and a quiet groan. She cautiously padded towards the source of the noise, as she rounded yet another square corner she spotted a shadow cast on the floor of the floor of the entrance hall of her small castle home. Quickly she stood on her hind legs and grabbed the stone sword that hung on her back, she took a deep breath and swung herself around the corner brandishing her sword in front of her.

The fox gasped and immediately lowered her sword as she focused her vision towards her temporary front door, under the wall-mounted torch lay a bloodied figure, as she got closer the fox noticed that were 3 arrows lodged in the figures back. She quickly returned her sword to its holster on her back before kneeling down beside the injured creature placing her paw softly onto its neck to check for a pulse "oh my you poor soul you've gotten yourself into a bit of bother", she muttered as she nudged her mahogany door closed shutting out the storm "now we're gonna have to move you somewhere with more room to manouvre". The vixen gently scooped up the lager creature into her arms, being careful not to nudge any of the arrows and slowly made her way back to her makeshift bedroom, she padded into the dark room before getting down on her knees and carefully laying the creature onto its front on top of the mattress.

She grabbed a new torch from her nearby chest and placed it beside her as it magically lit itself, the limited light source revealed the creature to be a scaled lizard of some sort. She scanned the lizard's body deciding that the injuries were minor apart from the arrows, the fox knew they had to come out but it would be painful, "right I need to take these arrows out of your back my friend" the scaly creature whimpered quietly as she said this and tried to speak "shh don't strain yourself, I can nullify the pain my scaly friend" she stated calmly. The lizard looked towards her curiously as her red paw pads started to glow "alright now just stay still and I'll pull them out quickly", she leaned forward as all of her red zigzag markings bathed the area in a red glow, she grabbed the first arrow with one paw and placed the other on the lizards back. The scaled creature froze as he felt the weird tingling sensation that came from the vixens paw, the fox gave the arrow a hard tug pulling it free before tossing onto the floor beside her. The lizard braced himself for the inevitable pain but it never came even as the small canine pulled the remaining arrows out of him, as she threw the arrows to the floor the vixen's markings flashed brightly before dying down.

The lizard turned onto his side to see that all of his wounds were healed somehow, frankly he was speechless at what had happened but that didn't stop him talking "w-w-what, h-how?, this is amazing i-it's like my wounds were never there..." he said looking towards the panting fox. The vixen smiled down at the now healed lizard attempting to reply but suddenly collapses forward with a quiet whimper, the lizard swiftly caught the falling fox and pulled her onto the trashed mattress "oh my god a-a-are you alright?" the scaly creature stuttered as he copied the vixens move of checking her pulse. The lizard did a double take, having felt the vixen's pulse. It seemed to be going twice as fast as it should be. He gently let the fox's paw fall, deciding to silently keep watch over the small heroine until she awoke.

It was dawn when the black furred vulpine stirred she rubbed her eyes before scanning her surroundings, the scaly creature was nowhere to be seen but she know he had slept in the room as she spotted a lone blanket and a pillow on the opposite side of the room. She slowly stood on all fours and smoothed down her dyed leather dress before padding off towards the corridor , suddenly she heard a roar from the other room of her home that echoed down the hallway, she started to run towards the noise and skidded into the small circular room. There in the light of the morning sun flooding through the windows, stood the scaly creature who the fox instantly recognised as her anaraptor friend "ow-ow-ow that hurt..." the dinosaur anaconda hybrid exclaimed before spotting the vixen, quickly running over, picking up the small fox and holding her close to him "oh thank god your alright Poppy... I-I was really panicking when you collapsed last night" the green coloured dino says with a worried tone, the small fox eepd as her friend hugged her tightly "Scale p-please put me down I'm still a bit fragile my friend".

The taller lizard blushed and gently placed his vulpine friend back down on the stone brick floor "s-sorry Poppy..." he said before offering the black furred vixen a piece of cooked pork, "thankies my scaly friend, are you feeling alright? You took quite a beating". I'm fine thanks to you Poppy, you never cease to amaze me my vulpine friend", Poppy giggled as she nibbled on the pork "I try teehee" she says softly before rooting through a nearby chest "well I'm glad your o.k. my friend, but before you go out at least take my set of spare armour it's much too big for me anyway". She gathers a full set of iron armour out of the chest apart from a helmet and lays it on the table "I'll check on my animals while you get changed" she says before padding back through the corridor, Scale watched the small vixen pad away, shouting after her as she disappears out of the mahogany front door "thanks Poppy your awesome!"
