#2 of Setup
Thanks for the favs, I got a few and that was surprising, I didn't think I had what it took but some people think I do so that's nice, anyway here's your next chapter with more and more twists.
Suddenly the edge of the cliff gives away and Vien is sent crashing down into nothing but trees hitting branches and screaming all the way down, then everything goes silent. Both Barnes and Nelson run about 5 feet to the edge and yell "CAPTAIN." They both keep yelling Captain and Sir for another 5 minutes and give up with that.
Nelson looks at Barnes "what do we do sir."
Barnes looks at Nelson with a terrified expression "well from the looks this cliff it goes on for miles so leaving this spot isn't a good idea and it's not like we were equipped with hover boots so I have no fucking clue what to do."
Nelson rubs his chin while thinking intently for few seconds "can we climb down it, we both have climbing gear."
Barnes gets a little closer and shacks his head "we can't, it's too dangerous, the cliff from bottom to top is shaped like a C so will fall down and get hurt pretty bad if we try that" Barnes thinks for a moment then smacks himself on the head "I know, we can throw a spider cam (mechanical spider about as big as your hand that has a camera and mic built into it) down there."
Nelson looks at the cliff edge again "but I don't see how that's gonna bring him back up."
Barnes shacks his head "of course It wont but at least we can take a look at him and maybe talk to him if he's not dead."
Nelson looks shocked "don't say that of course he's alive."
Barnes rolls his eyes "alright just let me look through my bag."
Barnes starts frantically searching through his bag for the spider, stops, then looks up at Nelson with a troubled look"Vien must have them."
Nelsons starts to panic "w...w...what a...are w...we going to do Viens probably hurt and we can't get to him, were so fucking SCREWED."
Barnes gets up, shacks Nelson, and looks him straight in the eyes "look I can't have you panicking right now when the sun is just about to go down, were just gonna have to stay here, and wait till he wakes up okay."
Nelson nods his head "Okay..." a branch snaps, both Nelson and Barnes pull out there main weapons, and aim at where the branch was snapped. While they have there weapons pointed in the direction of the snapped branch a 7 foot tall figure silently runs out of the forest at 40 mph and hits the back of both Barnes and Nelsons head, knocking them both unconscious.
4 hour later
I wake up with a painfully throbbing head and darkness all around me. I lift myself up slightly with my hands to look around and the next thing I notice is that I haven't moved because when I look up I can see the cliff I fell from and the dirt from it all over me. I whisper silently to myself "great." I slowly get up and check to make sure I'm not hurt anywhere else and by further inspection, 'I don't see anything so my body armor must have taken most of the impact, good. Now what? Oh yeah Nelson and Barnes' I yell up to the cliff where I last saw Nelson and Barnes "hey!!!!" no response "hey!!!!!!!!!!!" no response again 'where the fuck did they go, there's no way to get down here for who knows how many miles so why would they leave, those fucking idiots, I swear if they fucking left me here to die with out waiting for...shit how long have I been out...about 4 hours, 4 HOURS, those fuckers couldn't even wait a day, unless something got to them while they were waiting...shit that thing is still out here, what do I do? There is no where for me to run or hide so what am I gonna do to stop this thing. I guess I'll just have to keep going and sooner or later I will run into this thing'. I turn around, start walking, and for the first hour nothing happens until. 'Another trail what the fuck is going on here, how many of these things are out there'. I crouch down and see many over sized wolf paw prints. The first thing that pops in my mind is a werewolf 'oh please don't tell me that's what we saw earlier today but then again if it isn't am I gonna like the alternative, I mean I know seeing a werewolf isn't gonna be a beautiful experience but seeing something else that's with these footprints isn't going to be anymore beautiful'. I stand up and shack my head quickly 'this is bad...well I should follow the fucking yellow brick road I guess, ha that saying is over a thousand years old, anyway lets go'. I start following the trail for about 6 hours and finally step out into this clearing and stop dead in my tracks 'no!!!!!!!!!! fucking way is this possible, an old earth military base, but this should...wait this isn't the same one that I saw all the way on the other side of the world, this place is about 150 ft by 50 ft from the front, the other place is well massive, so this place can't even compare to that base, so what's going on here' I start walking up to the base slowly drawing my weapon just encase the small compound got any new inhabitants while earth was gone. 'This is not right why wasn't I informed of this place' as I approach I notice a monitor with a touch keypad to the left side 'okay why would the military use something that can be hacked so easily, ha come on I can hack this thing'. I step right in front of the keypad, the screen brightens up, a gun pop out, and points at me.
The monitor speaks "put your weapon away, I will not ask again."
My face goes pale 'shit this thing is serious, that gun aimed at me must be a have the WMS system (Weapons Motion Sensor [this system detects movement and can sense the chemicals in any weapon]), well so much for hacking' I slowly put my weapon back in it's holster on my back.
The gun retracts into it's hole but keeps it open and the monitor speaks again "now type in your 8 digit password."
'8 digit password shit what cou...' I smack myself on the head 'werewolf' I type in w.e.r.e.w.o.l.f. and hit enter.
The doors start opening "access granted, welcome Elite Assassin Aron Varus."
I walk in, the doors close and the room little's up 'Aron Varus are you kidding me the Aron Varus...I don't fucking believe it, the greatest assassin ever in the history of humanity, that guy could do anything, find anyone, he didn't even need the internet he could just use his senses to find you, he went missing the same time this place did. What the fuck happened that the military isn't telling me'. I look over at the main computer and run over to it and start looking up mission logs. I look at the first video log 'this should explain his mission' press enter and wait for it to play.
The lights dim and the screen shows Aron Varus in his honored cloak with rips and tars at the bottom with the gold and pure black striped epaulettes on both sides of his shoulder (balck: assassin/gold: elite). 'dam his features are truly...hot, he has a medium build like me with the same eyes like me, from what I can see his hair is no different than mine but his skin pale, but then again what do you expect from an assassin, he basically is a mirror image of me other than the pale skin, so what ever is out there might mistake me for him' I hit enter and the video starts playing "hello my name is Aron Varus, I am the Elite Assassin of Earth, my mission is one of those baby siting jobs as I like to call them" sighs "I will be protecting Elite General Brain Shultz on an diplomatic mission with the Blood Paws coming over to over to our base on the other side of this world in hopes of creating an alliance between our 2 people so that we can start a friendship with an entirely new race that was accidentally discovered just 2 months ago by the small destroyer Saberith in an effort to find more planets capable of supporting life for colonization. Unfortunately it will be another week before they can get all there leaders together but I don't know why they don't just use our ships, it will make things go much faster" rubs his eyes "but then again I don't make the decisions around here, anyway that's my mission report for the day Varous out."
The screen goes back to the mission logs and I just look at it with that 'what the fuck just happened look'. 'Elite General, diplomatic mission, Blood Paws, alliance, NEW RACE..........' I grab my hair with both hands and fall to my knees. "What is going on, this isn't right." I get back up and look at the screen 'there all labeled, huh the first one that I watched is labeled mission report and the rest are labeled bored except for the last one that's labeled in all caps MISTAKE 'this is what I'm looking for' I touch that video and before I press play 'this isn't taped in this room, this is at the base, this makes no sense how could it get back here I guess I will just have to find out for myself' I press play.
"Hey today's the big day, where all the leaders of both races are going to meet in the big training area and discuss the big stuff but before that I'm required to escort the Elite General to the training grounds from his ship which will land just outside the base. Now that this day has arrived I'm actually exited, this is gonna be really cool." smiles slightly
A soldier steps into the room "Aron Varus the ship is within view, the Elite General will be here soon."
"Thank you Sargent I will be there shortly."
The soldier salutes and leaves.
Varus attaches the camera to his right shoulder, walks out of the room, into the hallway, and outside. Varus quickly makes his way to the gates and exits the base. He reaches the spot and sees that the ship has landed and the ramp is lowering for the Elite General to appear. Varus gets in position right in front of the ramp. The Elite General comes walking out down the ramp in his fancy satin silk uniform with all his medals, walks right up to him, and he looks to be about in his 50's at the same height. He shacks Varus's hand and in a midieval generals voice "hello Varus, it's good to see I was sent the finest just encase anything went wrong."
"Only the best for you Elite General."
The Elite General nodes his head. He starts walking away to the right and Varus follows right behind him to the left. Once we get to the door "alright Varus that's all I need ya for, your dismissed but be here in 1 hour to escort me to the training area."
"Thank you sir and I wont be late."
The tapes skips ahead 1 hour
Varus knocks at the door "sir it's time."
A few seconds later the door opens and the Elite General walks out in all his glory "how do I look Varus, do you think this will get there attention."
"You look the same as you got off ship sir."
With half a smirk "I know that, but I washed everything so it smelled nice and looked at it's finest."
"Well sir if it means anything, you look better than me."
He chuckled a little "thank you Varus but you don't give yourself enough credit, your black robes are amazing, the way you walk with them is very intimidating, that's something to be proud of, anyway enough with the small talk we need to get to our spots so we don't look like fools for arriving late."
In an exited tone "yes sir."
They Elite General went first, then Varus to his left. They both walked down the hallway and outside, then they walked to the gates, and stopped right at their spots in front of the gates to greet the guests that will be arriving shortly. Everyone is already in place, they are in the formation of greeting a hero, on both sides of the road in rows of 100 long, and 10 wide on both sides of the road.
Then out of the forest comes 30 werewolves. As they got closer you could tell that they were allot like us they had our same body structure, even the arms and legs were the same, they had everything a normal werewolf should a snout, tail, long pointy ears on top of there head, claws, fangs, and fur that varied from one werewolf to another. Their body frames are like ours just a little bigger with more defined muscle. They also have on what looks like armor much like that of the medieval Romans but their helmets are like that of the ancient Greeks. Slowly they get closer and closer until they are almost halfway here. Then suddenly one of the men to the right about half way down explodes, everyone panics, thinks that the werewolves did it, get their weapons out, and starts shooting at the werewolves before they can do anything. Right in front of the camera 30 werewolves are slaughtered, the Elite Generals shouts to hold your fire and stand down are drowned out by blaster fire, not one of the 30 werewolves was given a chance to even surrender. At the edge of the forest a werewolf is seen screaming in a way that makes you freeze, skip a heart beat, and that's what everyone did was freeze and look at him. Then he vanishes into the forest.
I turn to the Elite General "sir there going to come back and in much greater numbers, we need to evacuate."
He sarcastically chuckles, still looking at the forest "you fool were all doomed, the ships wont make it here in time and we can't afford another war. There's only one small ship left and it can't take us all."
"Then put all the noncombat personnel on that ship."
He turns to me "that I can do" he turns to leave but Varus grabs the sleeve of his uniform.
"Sir you need to go on that ship too."
He turns around and glares at me "I am needed here you will be the one to leave, besides someone has to lead these men if they want a fighting chance."
"Sir I will stay."
"You have so much to live for why would you want to through it all away for a 57 year old man."
I a very serious tone "sir I am an assassin and assassins can be replaced, even the Elite Assassin can be replaced easier than you can, after all I am a ghost, I don't exist."
He shacks his head "no I should still stay it's not right."
In a deep menacing voice "with all do respect sir, you will go on that ship, even if I have to drag you on there myself, now I can't have ignorance save my life again, now go."
The Elite General looks completely shocked that Varus said this "Varus you do know what will happen if I leave right."
"yes sir I do know go."
Without another word the Elite General walks toward the ship and gets on and noncombat personnel can be seen getting on the ship shortly after that.
He turns around and around him men are scattered everywhere so Varus yells "everyone listen up...the Elite General is leaving and will come back with reinforcements soon. In the mean time you all will be under my command is that understood?"
All the men reply "yes sir."
"Alright then everyone get inside and await your battle positions."
Everyone moves inside quickly as Varus moves in slowly and as he is doing this he takes off the camera.
The screen goes back to the other videos.
So what do you think about this one, well before you say anything let me tell you that these videos were a real pain in the ass, so yeah I hate writing videos but I think they are excellent for filling in the gaps. Anyway leave me comments or favs if you want another chapter and sorry this one took so long I got...well allot of things but sick sums it up the best.
