Evan looked at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. He was wearing a pitch black suit with a flame orange tie to go with his orange fur. He never has dressed up nice before, sure he has dressed nicely for award ceremonies and such but never suit and tie nice. He straightened his tie one last time then heard his mate call out to him, "Evan! You ready?"

"Yeah, be right down!" Evan yelled back. Before Evan could leave the bathroom he heard footsteps outside the hall and at the door his boyfriend and date for tonight was there.

"I see you are admiring how pretty you are." Evan just blushed a deep red at that.

"You look pretty good as well." Evan replied. Riley was a fairly tall puma with tan fur and a orange tipped tail. Another thing they shared was that their ankles had each's fur color. Evan had a tan ring of fur on his ankles, and Riley had a ring of orange fur on his ankles. Riley walked behind Evan in a black suit as well, and he had a tan tie to go along with his fur. Riley wrapped his arms around the fox, Evan looked in the mirror and saw that the puma was a bit taller than him.

"We look great together, don't you think?" Riley said into Evans ear. Evan only nodded, they did look like a cute couple.

"Well, let's go my fox. We might be late for our reservation." They walked out of the restroom and Evan turned off the lights as they went. They went outside and hopped inside Riley's brother's car and they set off.

"What restaurant are we going to?" Evan asked as he reached over and grabbed Riley's paw.

"Some italian place, I forget the name." Riley replies as he gives Evan's paw a light squeeze.

"Okay, sounds good." Evan says

They arrive at the place a few minutes later, Riley's brother pulls up and drops the couple off. Evan exits the car and sees Riley standing there with his arm bent at the elbow by his side. "Want me to escort you my lovely fox?" Riley asked with a sly grin.

"Oh you are such a gentleman." Evan replies while wrapping his paws around Riley's arms, an obvious blush on his face.

As they walked into the waiting area Evan was blown away at how fancy this place really was. The lighting was dim with only a few lights hanging from the ceiling. Evan looked around and saw numerous furry couples, all dressed very fancily. Females with long elegant dresses, and males with sharp suits and tuxedos. They approached the host and Riley stated they had reservations. The host was a tall curvy female horse. The host turned and left to check if they really had reservations. As they stood there to wait Evan watched as a straight couple walked past them, the female making eye contact for a split second, looking to see Evan's and Riley's arms locked together, then looking away quickly. Evan held Riley closer. Riley felt the increase of pressure on his arm and he stole a glance at Evan. Evan had a scared look on his face. Riley whispered into Evan's ear, "What's wrong my fox?"

"Riley...i'm scared"

"What? Why my fox?" Riley turned to Evan and grabbed both of his paws in concern.

"I....I just don't feel comfortable around all these other couples."

"Oh my fox, just calm down and relax, it will all be okay." Riley reassured.

"Okay my puma" Evan replies.

The host eventually walks back and he begins to lead them to a table. When they arrive at the table, Riley pulls out Evan's chair and motions for him to sit down. Evan blushes and sits in his chair. Riley pushes him in and then takes his own seat. The host hands them each a menu and then walked back to the front. As Evan picked up his menu he noticed how nice the table was. There was a set of silverware that was wrapped neatly in a green napkin. The table had a nice plain blue tablecloth with a burning candle in the middle. There was some sort of dim light above the table, but the candle illuminated most of the table in a orange glow.

"This is very romantic my puma" Evan said

"A romantic place for my lovely fox" Riley replied. Evan just blushed and continued to look at the menu. They opened the menu and looked at what was available to eat.

As they scanned the menu to see what was available to eat, a rather tall otter with brown fur and a stripe of dark brown fur running from his head to the tip of his tail walked up to their table. The otter had a nice vest on, a bowtie around his neck, and a notepad in his paw.

"Good evening, my name is Rich and i'll be your waiter for tonight." He dug around his pants pocket and produced a pencil, which he poised above his notepad.

"Can i get you two something to drink?" Rich asked.

"Yes please, i'll have a mountain dew." Riley said.

"I'll just have a water" Evan said.

Rich scribbled some things down on his notepad and said, "Alright, i'll have that right out. Oh, and by the way, you two make a great couple." And with that, Rich walked away. The couple blushed at that comment. Riley turned to look at Evan's face and giggled.

"A little more comfortable my fox?" Riley asked

"Yeah, a bit more." Evan replied.

As they were searching the menus for food that they would order, Evan looked up from the menu and saw something that caught his eye. There was another gay couple, a grey wolf and a white husky. They were holding each others paws and staring into each others eye's. They both had suits on, the grey wolf with a grey suit and the husky with a clean white suit. Eventually they let go and started to get ready to leave. They placed some money on the table when the husky glanced over at Evan. Evan, who was caught staring, quickly looked away and blushed. The husky just smiled and got his mates attention. He gestured over to Evan and Riley, an obvious smile on his face. The grey wolf looked over and he smiled as well, they were happy that there was another gay couple. Riley now saw that the couple was looking at them and politely waved. The canine pair waved back, and then pushed in their chairs. As they were leaving Evan saw the husky and wolf holding paws. The white husky looked back one last time before they left the place and mouthed 'have fun' to Riley and Evan.

"So are you better now my fox?" Riley asked, grabbing Evan's paws.

"Yeah, i feel much more comfortable now." Evan replied.

"See my fox," Riley said while looking around, "nobody cares that we are a gay couple, we are just like everyone else here, in love."

"Yeah, you are right." Evan said.

Evan relaxed a bit more in his chair and Rich came by with the drinks.

"The mountain dew for the puma," he placed the lime green drink in front of Riley.

"And the water for the fox." Rich said while placing the clear liquid in front of Evan. They each said thank you, and Riley took a small sip out of his drink.

"So you two ready to order?" Rich asked while pulling out his notepad and pencil.

"Yeah i'm ready are you my fox?" Riley asks.

"Yeah i'm ready my puma." Evan responded.

"You two are so cute, you even have your own nicknames." Rich said. The couple just blushed and looked at each other.

"Anyway, what can I get you guys to eat?"

"I will have the chicken alfredo." Riley said while handing the menu to Rich.

Rich scribbled some things and took the menu from Riley.

"And what will you have?" Rich asked Evan.

"I'll have the chicken parmesan." Evan said then handed the menu to Rich. Rich wrote some things down and then put his pencil away.

"Alright, i'll have that right out. And for now here are some breadsticks to enjoy." Rich set a basket of warm breadsticks in the center of the table. Rich walked at a brisk pace towards the kitchen.

"Care for a breadstick my lovely fox?" Riley said as he pushed the basket towards Evan.

"Oh, thank you my puma." Evan said as he grabbed a breadstick from the basket and took a small bite out of it. The breadstick was warm and buttery, it tasted great.

"Try one my puma." Evan said as he pushed the basket back into the center of the table. Riley selected a breadstick from the basket and took a bit out of it.

"Mmmmm" Riley said, "It does taste very good."

They ate their bread sticks and Waited for their food to arrive.

"So what do you think my fox?"

"It is very nice my puma."

"So you like it?"

"I like it a lot my puma, thank you for taking me."

"You are very welcome my puma, its my pleasure"

They nibbled on some bread sticks and talked a bit more. They were having a discussion about their plans for the summer when the food arrived. The otter had a large tray with two plates on it. He set the tray on a nearby table and placed the food on the table.

"The alfredo for the puma," Rich said as he gently placed it in front of Riley.

"And the chicken for the fox." He set the plate in front of Evan.

"Alright, you two enjoy." Rich put the tray under his arm and walked back to the kitchen.

"Let's dig in," Riley said as he picked up his fork eagerly. Evan picked up his fork and knife and began to eat up.

"How is the food my fox?" Riley asked then he took a sip of his drink.

"It's really good, how is yours?"

"It's excellent."

They continued to eat for a while and eventually they finished their food. Rich came around with the check and told them to have a great evening. Riley insisted that he pay, and so Evan let Riley pay. Riley also left a generous tip for Rich.

"So, ready to go my lovely fox?"

"Yeah, let's leave my puma." The couple grabbed each others paws and walked out of the restaurant together. The happy couple left the building with big smiles on their faces. Riley called his brother and they got picked up. On the drive the back Riley's brother asked how it went. They replied that it went amazing. Riley's brother dropped them off at the house and he said that he would be at his girlfriends house for the night. The two waved goodbye and he drove off. They walked to the front door but before they went inside Evan grabbed Riley's paw.

"Hey, I just want to say thank you for the amazing date." Evan said.

"Oh no problem my fox, it was really fun."

"Yeah it was quite fun, thank you." Evan grabbed both of Rileys paws and faced him. Evan Closed his eyes and his lips met with Riley's. Riley blushed a deep red and then closed his eyes. The kiss went on for what seemed like forever. Riley wrapped his arms around Evan's waist and held him closely. They broke the kiss and hugged each other tightly. Evan whispered into Riley's ear, "Happy three months my puma."

Riley whispered back "Happy three months, my amazing fox."
