Something I wrote to provide some backstory to my universe without it being out of character and give some background to one of my characters.

Translation of captured document from the Russian SVR

S.V.R. - FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE SERVICE

Xenos Drakos Fylates (XDF) is a sizable and well-equipped private military contractor that arrived on the international scene at the beginning of the 21st century out of seemingly nowhere. Their first notable appearance was at the I?????-????s War of 20?? where they brought the war to a decisive end in favour of I?????. Since then, they have been involved in numerous conflicts globally and have an excellent track record with only one defeat recorded at the Battle of ?????. Their signature main base first appeared in orbit in the year 2043.
Their leader, Marianne Asteri, is generally believed to be an experiment by rogue genetic scientists during the Cold War- a hybrid of human and an unknown reptile. This lizard like species is dubbed "Psuedodragons". However, recent intelligence suggests that she returned from a clandestine scientific expedition to extrasolar planet D?????-3 that took place from 1964- 1976. The only recorded survivor from the expedition of four is Professor ????? J. ????? whose whereabouts are currently unknown. A "strange, tailed green girl" has been reported in Soviet mostly expunged records to have been aiding rebels in 19??, believed to be her. No other similar related records have been found beyond that date.
Professor ????? is also suspected to be the anonymous scientist who donated patents for faster than light technology to public domain. However, the XDF mothership uses far more effective FTL drives than those currently available to us, apparently capable of outrunning any other human craft.
Their main base of operations is a massive space station or mothership of approximately ten kilometres long and approximately a kilometre tall and wide. It appears to be capable of propelling itself at impressive speeds through propulsion technologies we have yet to identify. Attempts made by spy probes to get close have [DATA EXPUNGED]. Remote observation reveals little more than the vague form of the structure. This may point to the use of some sort of visual obfuscation technology.
Recruits appear to be sent up to their main base human, however, no human agents are observed among their ranks during operations. This may suggest that they have a means of [DATA EXPUNGED]. Furthermore, most of the recruits are observed to be male yet there are an almost equal proportion of male to female agents of the XDF fielded. It is possible that some are converted to females for the sake of the continuity of the species. It could also be that the females are born naturally onboard. This alternate theory may suggest that their numbers are far larger than anticipated.
This violates international law regarding biological experimentation on humans. However, they are not permanently affiliated with any country. They are also recorded to have utilised orbital bombardment weaponry on certain occasions with [DATA EXPUNGED] projectile types. Orbital weaponry also violates international law. Propaganda efforts may be made to cause international outcry enough to force the UN to attempt to regulate the XDF's methods.
The newly sovereign colonies in other systems have also begun to seek the services of the XDF in resolving their conflicts. This is very dangerous. They could grow even stronger with financial support from the Terran Commercial Conglomerate.
Requesting permission to commence an undercover operation to infiltrate the XDF with the goal of collecting intelligence on their still mysterious inner workings.

I have formally pardoned Maj. Gen. Zavrazhnov as he has proven to be an exceptional and loyal soldier. This document was partially recovered thanks to his efforts. No charges have been laid against him. Any other foreign agents uncovered are to be expelled forcefully.
