Thanks to all of the viewers for this. I never thought I would end up writing an entire story. I had never done anything as expansive as this before and I don't regret it one bit. I know that it is very rough around the edges, and probably full of grammar and technical errors, but you guys looked past those and just told me to keep writing. I hope to continue writing. Maybe a sequel? Need to think of something first.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. If anyone has an idea, then I'm all ears. Just no yiff, I'll read it, but won't write it. Got a bit of an idea for a sequel, great! Got an idea for some random story, awesome. I'm willing to listen.

Thanks again for being a great community.

Hidden: Epilogue

Freedom

"So." I said looking over at the corgi who was sitting next to me. His stub of a tail wagging as he ate a sandwich he had made. "You never told me what happened when you woke up." I wasn't hungry, I was just glad to have all of that blood off of my hands. The cafeteria wasn't the first place I wanted to go to, but Crane had insisted and I used the sinks to wash my entire arms while he made his food. The pack of werewolves had disappeared, but I was no longer worried about them, if they wanted to attack, they would have.

"Oh, yeah." He said, bits of bread and meat coming out of his mouth. I wiped a fleck of it off of my cheek. "When I woke up..." He swallowed. "It was like waking from a dream. It was so weird, like some drug trip." He looked up at me and his eyes fell. "Not that I know what one of those are like." He took another bite and began to chew on it. He kept chewing like he was still human, food tumbled out of his mouth and fell either on the table or the floor. He didn't mind, I did.

"Christ, man. Chew with some decency." He laughed and I had to pick another piece of food off of my face.

"I'm Crane to you, not Christ. Only my father called me that and only when he was really mad." The next bite finished off the sandwich. I watched him chew and swallow. There was nothing else to do but watch. He whined a bit and patted his stomach. "I'm still hungry."

"Well if you kept half of the food in your mouth," I pointed at various piles of meat and bread, "that wouldn't be the case." He picked up one piece of meat and threw it in his mouth. I grimaced at it. Just like a dog if it wasn't for the fact that Crane would have done that regardless of what he was.

"Five second rule." He defended, picking up another piece and quickly consuming it. It had been longer than five seconds and I didn't know what had been on the table. The cafeteria had been clean of any bodies, but it didn't mean the table was clean.

"Anyway, you were saying." I rested my elbows on the table and rested the end of my muzzle on my interlaced fingers.

"Saying what?" He looked up, actually looking confused. A bit of food was clinging to one of his whiskers.

I face palmed. "You were just talking about what happened when you woke."

"Ohhhh riiiigth." He said it slowly and carefully. "When I woke, I suddenly had control of everything and remembered everything. Before, I regained control, I don't really remember." He grabbed a napkin and wiped any remaining food off of his face. He didn't eat the napkin, thank god for that. "I do remember Dr. Ruse though and how he tried to get me to do what he wanted. I couldn't control my body, it simply did what he wanted." He shuddered. "I feel violated."

"So did I. I can't believe he nearly got me to shoot you." I slumped down a bit. My paws flat against the table. A hand reached out and patted it.

"No worries, you got over it." I looked at him and smiled. He had a way with words. It would drive others insane, but always made me smile.

"Makes me wonder why he couldn't control you in the end." I mused. Crane pulled his hand back and stroked his whiskers as if it was a beard.

"You told me that you only broke free because you let this voice, your animal side to take over and he only had control over you human part, right?" He asked, getting more serious.

"Yeah, it's scary because technically I'm still not in control. I have no idea what will happen if the voice takes over again." I rubbed my forehead, feeling the coarse fur underneath. I was going to be brushing my hair for an entire day.

"Well, what if it was the opposite for me? I mean, maybe he had control over my 'animal' side and not my human side." I hadn't thought of that, it sounded plausible. It was the best and to be truthful the only explanation that had come by and I was willing to go along with it.

"Good a guess as any." I conceded. "Now we need to get out. I left some guys at the main control room, they might be able to help. Speaking of people, I left some guards to watch over you, what happened to them?"

"I don't know. I was alone in a janitor's closet, the door was unlocked and I followed your scent to Dr. Ruse's lab. That's it." He shrugged his shoulders. Damn cowards, just dumped him and left. I suppose if they did follow my orders, Dr. Ruse would probably be picking my brain for data right now. "I guess there's no reason to stay here." He looked around the empty cafeteria, tongue slightly hanging out of the side. He really did look like a dog and didn't care one bit. I on the other hand did what I could to be as human as possible. We were really something, two polar opposites that work the best when put together.

"Yeah, let's go." I got up and began heading towards the door. A paw caught mine and made me stop.

"Hold on a minute." Crane pulled me back. "Need another sandwich." He then ran off, tail wagging and ears flopping as he disappeared into the kitchen.

"Absolutely unbelievable." I muttered to myself and went in after him. I could go for a sandwich now that I thought about it.
