#7 of Wolf and Deer

And so the story of the Deerwolf's parents continues. Feel free to tell me your thoughts. ^.^

So many paths unwalked, forbidden

So many held back by their fear

Afraid, not of what they might find at it's end

But of what they might find out

About themselves.

Eyes opening wide in surprise, Beta found himself locking lips with his prey, countless thoughts racing through his mind. How would the pack react if any of them could see him right now? Was this how a hunter should behave? And... why did all that seem to matter so little right now and, if anything, only added to the excitement he felt?

He closed his eyes, letting the moment carry him away. His forepaws gently scritching the neck he would have broken without a second thought but moments - a lifetime ago, he felt his heart hammering in his ears, sending his blood racing. Not exactly up towards his brain, but... an entirely different part of his body.

His tail wagging slowly, he parted his fangs to let his tongue glide slowly over her lips, blushing so deeply he felt was glowing.

Reborn had died. She was sure of that. The initial onslaught of the Fang must have killed her and sent her to the "better place " that some of the elders had kept going on about, as if the ultimate happiness was never to be found in this life. Though their tales had never included anything... anything like this.

The kiss of the Fang sent waves of warmth washing over her, the loving attention he gave to her neck made her tremble all over and as his tongue touched her lips, she knew - whether she was dead or not, she had never been truly alive before until she was allowed to feel this.

Reborn tilted her head slightly and closed her eyes as she let her own tongue greet his hesitantly.

Snowflakes pausing in their slow descent. Nightly noises of the forest ceasing. The wind itself holding his breath. For both of them, time stopped, for a sweet, perfect moment... to fall in love.
