Shapeshifter News! And Summary :)

Good news!

The Shapeshifter series is back on! After a long break (sorry!) it's finally back on the docket. Don't get too excited; there's still a lot that needs to be written/worked on. But, it's what's up next! Most of the next chapter is finished so it should be up within a week. If there are delays (which tend to happen) it will at least be up within a month. Hopefully sooner :)

And since it's been a while since the last chapter was posted, I've decided to include a summary so you don't have to reread anything! Fair warning, I am terrible at summaries. But it's better than slogging through eight chapters again. But if you really want to reread them, I won't stop you.

So why the delay? Major story rewrites. The last few chapters didn't exactly go the way I intended them to (which is a fairly common problem for any writer), so I took a break to work on other stuff and tried to look at the story again with fresh eyes. And while it's good to be back in the Shapeshifter world, there are a lot of problems that I need to work on fixing.

The good news? Most of chapter 9 and 10 are more or less completed, so those should both be out at least before the end of the year (hopefully sooner, but let's be realistic: whenever I say a week, it tends to be a month. RL unfortunately gets in the way too often). The bad news? Since I'm doing a major overhaul, the last handful of chapters of the series need to be completely rewritten, which can take some time. But, any suggestions or character pairings that you'd like to see are now totally up to you guys - just send me a PM on what you'd like. If it fits, I can work it in. And if I can't and it's a popular request, I can do a stand-alone :)

For those of you who'd like to know what's next for me:

Even though I haven't posted a lot lately, I have a lot that I'm working on. All of it has sex scenes in it because, well, that's why you're here. But sometimes it can be a bit difficult to fit everything in plot-wise AND have a sex scene, too, so bear with me. As for the Shapeshifter stuff, I estimate that there are at least five more chapters left in the series, possibly more. It depends on how the new story arc goes. But, I have lots of addition scenes that I wasn't able to work in. So I'll be hopefully posting those as stand-alone fun chapters. I also have some ideas for a follow up series that deals with a post-Kensing world and another series set in the same world, but with different characters. Some of these have been started, and some of these are just the beginnings of ideas. But if you're interested in one of them, please let me know! The ones that generate the most interest will be worked on first.

In addition to the Shapeshifter, I have a few other stories that will probably come out soon:

  • Pokemon story: I've loved Pokemon for a while and decided to try my hand at it. Since it's from me, there will of course be transformation, non-anthro, and probably some mind control and most likely some m/m, but possibly m/f as well. But I do know that it will center on the original 150 Pokemon because let's be honest, those are the best.

  • Covington Manor Part II: This chapter is actually almost completely finished. Once it's edited a bit, it'll be out.

  • Prince's Pet Part II: Only bits and pieces are completed with this one, since it's a fairly new story. But it'll definitely be out at some point.

  • New story (gender shifting/mind control) This one will be the last to get posted since it was just started and I have a million other things to work on. But it's there.

What you need to know:

The king is assisted by two groups that more or less try to get along: the sorcerers and the king's guard. The king's guard is a group of men and women who learn the art of fighting and traditional information acquisition while the sorcerers are based in the Academy, where they train and practice magic. In order to do this, they use familiars by binding these creatures to them.

This story deals a lot with familiars. Familiars are sentient, though immaterial creatures, who are captured and bound to sorcerers. Binding them solidifies their form into a tangible one and also has several benefits: they host large amounts of magic reserves for their sorcerer, can communicate either verbally or via mind link, and are designed to be lifetime companions. In traditional mythology, they were often required in order for the witch/wizard to perform magic. In this world, minor magic can be performed without a familiar but in order to perform the good stuff, a familiar is needed.

In this story, the crown prince of a powerful kingdom has gone missing and everyone is trying to find him before the kingdom resorts to war with its neighbors.

Tannal and Elliot are the story's primary characters. Elliot is a young apprentice sorcerer who is training under Master Kensing, one of the most powerful sorcerers in the land. He has no family and his closest friend is Tannal. Tannal joined the king's guard (though he did attend the Lower Academy, so he knows some minor magic, though he prefers to use a sword when he can) and is immensely loyal to Elliot. When Elliot overhears a rumor about the missing prince being out in the Wildlands, he tells Tannal, who promptly goes out and attempts to find him. This ultimately backfires when he runs into Kensing and his dragon familiar, Bruine, who are clearly up to no good. Once captured, Kensing performs an experimental spell, turning Tannal into a familiar. As a familiar, Tannal discovers that his form is that of a shapeshifter, which means that unlike most familiars with a single animal form, he is capable of taking on almost any form he chooses, which is a rare and powerful talent to have. However, Kensing adds one more spell to Tannal's transformation: an arousal spell that forces Tannal (and anyone he's bound to) to become frequently aroused and only able to seek complete relief by having sex with the person Tannal is bound to.

In order to keep an eye on Tannal, Kensing binds Tannal to his best friend Elliot, along with an obedience spell, silencing spell, and a gender lock to keep him in female form and calls her "Telsa". Elliot has no idea that his familiar is Tannal or that Kensing is behind his friend's disappearance. After they're bond, the arousal spell kicks in and once overwhelmed with the spell, Elliot and Tannal cave into the spell's manufactured desires and have sex together.

II

Though guilt-ridden by his sexual encounters with his female familiar, Elliot continues to search for Tannal. As Tannal and Elliot continue their training as sorcerer and familiar, they become closer and more powerful. Tannal continues to come to terms with what he and Elliot did while Elliot struggles with the guilt of having sex with his animal shaped familiar as well as the depression of not knowing what happened to his best friend. While Elliot begins to construct a way to locate Tannal, Tannal learns more about being a familiar and being a shapeshifter.

Tannal also meets Kensing's right-hand man, Malken, who is a powerful sorcerer as well with a lemur familiar named Kiem. While Malken disapproves of Kensing's methods, he does nothing to stop him, which is made clear when Kensing reveals to Malken who "Telsa" really is. In addition to this, Malken also partakes in sexual encounters with Bruine, Kensing's dragon familiar, much to Tannal's disgust. Later, Kensing also commands Bruine to have sex with Tannal. After they finish, Bruine tells Tannal that he has the potential to save them, which makes Tannal wonder how loyal Bruine is to his master.

III

Elliot and Tannal attend a banquet where Tannal sees Lady Marion, who functions as the Head of the Sorcerers of the Academy, and Sir Gallan, who is the commander of the King's Guard, both seem to accept that whatever might have happened to Tannal, Elliot is unable to help him and that the situation should resolve itself. Elliot inwardly disagrees and begins searching on his own by constructing a locator device intended to find Tannal. Elliot also frees Tannal from another restrictive spell and allows Tannal to speak.

Sari, a fellow sorcerer, stops by to visit Elliot. She was an acquaintance of Tannal when he was in the Lower Academy, but is Elliot's closest friend besides Tannal. She and Elliot like each other but seem unwilling to address it openly. Sari's fox familiar, Surem, has no problem addressing it openly and with Elliot's arousal encouraging Tannal, Tannal lets Surem have sex with him.

IV

Elliot and Tannal continue their training with Malken, who notes how strong the pair are, despite being so newly bound. Malken and Tannal both know it is because Elliot and Tannal have a prior connection as friends, but Elliot assumes it is because he and Telsa have a physical relationship as well, which continues to make him feel guilty.

Kiem, Malken's lemur familiar, talks to Tannal and insists that Kensing is the one responsible and tries to convince Tannal that Malken is a good man, but Tannal doesn't believe him. He hints that Malken has secrets as well and is forced into obedience the same way Tannal is, but Tannal doesn't buy it. Kiem concludes that despite Malken's supposedly good nature, he will never be able to help Tannal and Elliot because Kensing has too strong of a hold on him.

While Elliot works on his locator device to find Tannal, Tannal tries to work some magic on his own. Only the most powerful familiars are capable to casting their own spells without their master. Tannal tries and fails.

Elliot becomes aroused and Tannal sees him trying to resist the spell, but decides to initiate having sex with him anyways, finally accepting that they both need the relief.

Later, Tannal sneaks to the locator device. Unsure if it actually works (and uncertain that Elliot will be able to decipher that Telsa is actually Tannal, should the device point to the city), Tannal moves the locator to the Wildlands, the place he was originally captured, hoping that Elliot will piece together the truth.

V

Elliot and Tannal go to the Wildlands without permission to search for answers about Tannal's disappearance.

Elliot finds the scribe who was one of Kensing's partners and discovers that Kensing was the one who bought Telsa for him from the outpost.

When questioned about Tannal, the scribe finally admits that the humans captured near the post were turned into animals - specifically familiars. The scribe explains that since a familiar is a sorcerer's greatest asset, using familiars who were once people means that the familiar would be more intelligent and probably stronger as well. Elliot doubts this, since no spell exists that can turn people into familiars, but the scribe insists it's the truth. And that Kensing was the one behind it. Elliot doesn't believe the scribe and grows angry and for a moment, reminds Tannal briefly of Kensing. Tannal realizes how easy it would be to push Elliot into becoming a monster like Kensing and swears to not let it happen to Elliot.

As they ready themselves to leave, Tannal spots Kensing and Bruine at the outpost, no doubt investigating where Elliot is. He quickly takes Elliot and hides him, since Elliot is still convinced of Kensing's innocence, and watches as Kensing kills the scribe for his betrayal, though Kensing was unable to confirm that Elliot knows anything. While Elliot and Tannal hide, Kensing and Bruine look for them; although Bruine spots Tannal and Elliot, he turns away without informing his master, much to Tannal's surprise.

Elliot pieces together the information they learned and discovers that Telsa is human, though he doesn't know that it's Tannal. While he is horrified, Tannal assures him that he doesn't hold a grudge for what happened between them.

VI

Elliot and Tannal continue their training with Malken. While at Malken's house, Elliot spots a row of spell orbs and wonders what they are. Though Malken dismisses the orbs as Academy business, Kiem pulls Tannal aside and warns him that the orbs contain transformation spells to turn people into familiars. He cautions Tannal to be careful because Kensing is close to making his move.

In his free time, Elliot continues to search for a way to find Tannal and to turn Telsa back into a human. Tannal and Elliot encounter difficulties since the more they work, the stronger their bond, and therefore the more demanding their physical needs became.

When Tannal questions Malken's motivations, Elliot defends him and explains that Malken was once poised to become the next Head Sorcerer and was one of the most powerful sorcerers of his time until an accident occurred, killing his apprentice and causing his wife to go missing.

Sari visits Elliot, which means Surem comes along, too. Surem can taste Elliot inside of Tannal and guesses that Tannal has been intimate with his master, though he promises not to tell anyone. He also soothes Tannal's anxieties about continuing to have sex with Elliot and Surem, saying that pleasure is pleasure. Tannal accepts that mentality and before Sari leaves, Elliot gives the locator device to her so that she and her master can continue to work on it.

Elliot does more tests on Tannal and discovers that not only is Telsa a human, but was locked in a female form, meaning that Telsa was originally male. He then also finds the arousal spell. Tannal assures him that everything is okay, though Elliot is disturbed by the finding. Elliot continues to examine the spells, concluding that whoever put the spell on Tannal must be a high ranking sorcerer and that he isn't sure if he could remove the spells, even if he tried. Elliot continues to question Tannal about the spells and why he was in the Wildlands in the first place until he eventually figures out that his familiar is actually his friend Tannal.

VII

Elliot is understandably upset after learning that his familiar is actually Tannal. Trying to come to terms with everything that had happened, he asks Tannal for some space and goes to Malken, the only person he deems trustworthy enough to talk to. However, as soon as he tells Malken what he had discovered, Malken sells him out to Kensing. Kensing gives Elliot a choice: either work with him and help him transform people into familiars or be turned into a familiar himself. Kensing also threatens Elliot by putting an additional spell on Tannal that saps his strength the longer he goes without climaxing.

Kensing takes Tannal and Elliot to the stables. As they go, Bruine warns Tannal that whatever Kensing is planning on doing to Elliot, it could kill him unless Tannal takes his place. Since Tannal is a familiar, he can handle what Elliot can't. Kensing summons various animals to fuck Elliot and while he does that, Malken admits to Elliot that he knew who Tannal was from the beginning and even helped write the arousal spell.

Tannal, fearing for Elliot and wanting to spare him the pain and trauma of Kensing's punishment, takes Elliot's place until Elliot is able to free himself and save them both.

VIII

When Tannal wakes up, he's back with Elliot in Elliot's apartment. The gender lock spell and all of the other minor spells are removed, leaving Tannal with the transformation spell and arousal spell in place. Those spells are too strong for Elliot to break. But despite still being a familiar bound to Elliot, Tannal at least regained most of his freedom.

Elliot explains that after the events in the stables, Kensing placed them under house arrest for treason. Furious at Kensing and Malken for their betrayal and at his inability to see through their deception, Elliot begins to plan. He and Tannal also have a long talk about the past few months, but despite the confusion and guilt both of them feel, they both are able to look past it for the sake of their friendship.

Elliot began to take arousal inhibiting potion in an attempt to stop them from needing to have sex, though Tannal still required physical contact to give him strength. Tannal also learns more about being a familiar: that they can shift from a solid animal to a ghostly form for easy travel or escape, that he can feel Elliot's pain and pleasure and Elliot can feel some of his as well, ect.

The arousal inhibitor potion finally runs out, and the inevitable happens, but since Tannal was no longer forced to be a female, Elliot decides that their sexual encounter should be a little different and allows Tannal to have sex with him as a male. Despite his uncertainty and fear, Elliot ended up enjoying it and Tannal certainly had fun.

Next up:

Now that everything's out in the open, Elliot and Tannal need to work together to find a way to defeat Kensing and Malken and stop their plans to take over the kingdom.
