So, here's the deal. This was written with the intent of it being an rp starter. Of course, if you do want to rp it with me, I don't expect you to have a 1200 word post every time, because I know I won't. This was just an intro. However, I do have a couple requirements for rping with me and those are listed on my profile page. If you are comfortable with those requirements, there are a couple ways you can go about this. I originally planned on playing the Seraph, but if you want to play him, you can. If you don't want to play him, you can join as one of the other slaves for sale, or as someone (king, peasant, noble, etc.) just walking through the market place the next morning. Please note that this IS a plot based rp... thus, I do have a plot in mind, if you must know it before we rp, just let me know.

If no one wants to rp it though... well, I actually did enjoy writing this, so if there is interest, let me know and I might actually be able to turn this into a story. I just need to know if anyone is actually interested.

"Hey! I think I found something!" a deep voice rang from inside the dark cave. Almost immediately, the clapping and thudding of boots on solid rock could be heard echoing against the damp, cold walls. Normally, the cave itself was even darker than a moonless and starless night, especially considering it was at least a mile under the surface of the planet. However, for the past few hours, the darkness had been disturbed by the lanterns and torches of a small exploration party of furs.

"What did you find, boss?" another voice came closer to the first. Three furs sprinted towards a large bear holding a lantern up against a wall. The added light that the trio of smaller furs brought with them in their torches combined with that of the lantern, soon illuminating the wall in front of the large bear. However, the bear didn't need to answer young fox that inquired about his findings. The fox, along with his two male lion colleagues, came skidding to a halt in front of the wall, and once their brains were able to process what their tired eyes were seeing, their jaws nearly hit the floor. For the wall they were now looking at, was not so much a wall as it was a window. The entire wall seemed to be a very thick and wide sheet of glass - absolutely transparent and at least eight feet deep and ten feet wide.

That wasn't what made their jaws drop, though. What was so amazing was what was encased inside of the glass - frozen as if someone had just painted a picture and hung it up. Pure white fur grabbed the light from the torches and lantern through the glass and reflected it back, making this small figure stick out from the darkness of the cave like a sore paw. The figure itself was small, thin, and canine in appearance. Upon first look, one would think that it was a mere young wolf - a brilliantly white wolf, but just an ordinary wolf nonetheless. Of course, they would instantly change their minds about the commonness of this beast when their eyes would shift from the pure white fur to the blinding gold-feathered wings that were outstretched and attached to the young lupine's back. This encased fur was definitely male, as was evident by the fact that... well, let's just say he wasn't exactly wearing any clothes or covering at all. His eyes were closed and he looked peaceful, almost as if the young fur were sleeping in the glass. "Sir?" the fox squeaked, only snapping out of his shocked daze when he accidently brought the torch he was holding too close to his chest and ended up burning his dirtied and torn jacket. "Sir... that's not what I think it is, right? I mean... that can't be a -"

"A Seraph!" the bear smiled and started chuckling. "Gentlefurs, we have found ourselves one of the long lost members of the Seraphim clan. Oh, just imagine how much this beautiful little beast will sell for on the black market! Kings will want his pelt and wings as a trophy! Scholars will give anything to study his form and mind! Even dead, he is worth BILLIONS of gold pieces!" he burst out laughing.

"B-but, Sir! The Seraphim completely disappeared a thousand years ago! They're just legend!" the fox merely could not believe his eyes. He never even believed that the Seraphim clan existed. After all, how could there exist a race of furs, angelic in appearance, with fur as white as the driven snow and wings as gold as the treasure of a thousand kings? It was said that there were sorts of sub-species of Seraphim. Ones that looked like white wolves with golden wings, like this encased fur, were said to be some of the most noble of creatures the world has ever known. Other Seraphim - such as those that looked like winged, white lions - had reputations of being powerful, strong, and agile. Of course, these were just stories now. As the fox had said, no one had seen a real Seraph in over a thousand years, and no one knew why.

But that didn't seem to deter the bear's excitement. "Get the pick-axe, boys! This legend is now ours!" He set his lantern down and picked up a rock to try to start breaking through the glass. The pick-axe though was not needed. Because the material surrounding the young fur both looked and acted like a very fragile glass. The bear reared back his paw with the stone and rammed it at the transparent wall. Almost as soon as the stone came into contact with the wall, there was a loud crashing sound that only became louder thanks to the fact that the group of four were in a large cave. The wall itself had shattered into a billion tiny pieces. And what was strange was that the Seraph still hung upright, wings outstretched, in mid-air, even when it did no longer have the support of the glass to keep it up. This caused all four explorers to step back in a bit of confusion.

Fortunately, the Seraph did eventually float to the ground as if he were completely filled with air. And as soon as his paw touched the cold stone ground, he collapsed to the ground with a small grunt. "... did that thing just make a noise?" one of the lions asked as the bear stepped a little closer to examine the figure again.

After the Seraph's body gave a small twitch and the bear noticed the creature's chest slowly moving up and down, he just burst out laughing, "Dinner's on me, tonight, boys! We got ourselves a live, little treasure!"

It didn't take long for the small party of explorers to collect their treasure and high-tail it out of the cave. By the time the small group had escaped the cave and made it to the nearest village, the sun was just beginning to set. Unfortunately, there were no cars around these lands. No television, radio, computers, or really any forms of technology were present either. The main weapon of choice was a classic sword and shield and the entire environment was quite similar to the medieval period.

The bear managed to sell the young Seraph very quickly, though he didn't quite get the price he was hoping for. The local slave drivers were really the only ones who were interested in buying such a little treasure, and the best they could offer was a small fortune, not quite the billions of gold that the bear hoped for. The bear wouldn't complain though, he would merely hand over the still unconscious cub and take his money to go celebrate with his crew.

And the Seraph? What would happen to him? Well, the fur who had bought him actually owned quite a few young slaves and specialized in selling help to local farms. The youth was tied to pole in the middle of the market place with about 6 other young furs, all waiting for the morning. Surely a young, rare fur would sell quickly, despite how scrawny he looked, if only he would wake up before morning...
