'But why do you have to go isn't there someone else who can do this?'

"Sorry pup, I hate that I have to go away too but we should consider it a good thing they are seeing that I am really good at what I do so I am being given more responsibility"

'But why you snuggly bunny' I asked as I grabbed him from behind and hugged him close

"Because" he murred "they've seen the work I've been doing but I wasn't the first choice, Dawkins was the more senior member they looked at first but he has some home problems that he has to resolve right now"

'like what?'

"Well for one his daughter is pregnant, and for another his eldest son just got divorced and announced he's gay"

'Ooo bet they are having fun right about now'

"Don't worry he isn't a hateful bigot he accepts his son for who he is and loves him, he's not happy with his daughter though"

'Why's that'

"She's only seventeen and has known the boy for about a week"

'That would do it' I said as I hugged my bunny 'I wish you didn't have to go'

"Me too puppy but it's a good opportunity and quit rubbing down there we did that last night"

'Sorry' I said and stopped rubbing his groin 'I just don't know how I will be able to go a full week without my snuggly bunny'

"You'll be fine, why don't you and Kyle go out for drinks one night, and you can always visit with our neighbors"

'Okay' I said acting like a pouty little cub

"Oh pup I'll call every night"

'Okay'

"C'mon then let's get me to the airport"

My bunny had been gone for about an hour now by this point. It was already driving me crazy, I'm not a very social dog but I'm not a shut in either. Though I must admit I don't really go out and just randomly grab strangers on the street Zach and I talk to each other quite a bit when we are together. So I did the only thing I could I worked, and I worked and I worked. Which would be unfortunate later in the week since I went through all of the work I had to do for the week in about eight hours, feeling lonely and a little bored I went to the fridge and got a quart of ice cream and flumped down on the couch switching on the T.V.

I don't really remember what I watched I know it wasn't a reality show I can't stand them neither can Zach. I just sat there and hoped that the phone would ring at eleven or so I took a quick shower and went to bed. I slept soundly though I must admit an empty bed was not a joy to me. I woke up to the phone ringing and was thrilled to see it was Zach.

'Hello bunny having fun?'

"Hello love, yes I am and sorry I didn't call last night I was so jetlagged I didn't even shower or change clothes I just laid down and went to sleep"

'It's okay bunny I understand, so what have you seen so far?'

"Oh lots of things, I'm on a quick break right now but I wanted to call and let you know I'm alright, I've seen some really great new computers and server systems, and lots of new tablets"

'Sounds good hon you must be in heaven'

"Oh I am, and whoops the symposium I'm supposed to be a part of just started gotta run pup love you talk later"

'Okay bunny love and kisses to you too'

He ended the call and I hung up the phone feeling a little sad at how brief it was but at least he was alright and having fun. I went to our home office for a little while before realizing that I had nothing to do for work now. I called in to see if there were any other projects that needed anything, but all the other projects were either complete and waiting the client approval or being dealt with by more senior members so there was nothing. With nothing to do I decided to go pay a call on our elderly neighbor Mrs. Simmons, (Mrs. Dreson despite her advanced years was still teaching classes and wouldn't be off till around three or so) who I knew would be in her apartment either working on a small handicraft project or having a cup of tea. I went on down and spent the rest of the afternoon with her. I came away from this stuffed with little cookies, and drowning in tea (luckily for me I had gained a taste for Earl Grey the only kind she likes to drink) I got home in time for an early supper and to watch most of the late afternoon talk shows. Feeling really bored and lonely I decided to look at some wedding books planning for our eventual wedding, we hadn't really decided when but we both agreed that a little looking never hurt anyone.

I had just found a page of more nature themed weddings that could be held outside, in especially reserved glades grown to simulate the indoors. While I was looking over how chairs would be arranged Zach called in again. I dropped the book on my foot paw in an attempt to grab the phone as fast as possible so when I answered him I swore out with a damit.

"And hello to you too puppy I take it something interesting just happened?"

'No nothing in particular sweetie just looking in one of the planning books and I dropped it on my foot'

"Aww poor puppy, wish I was there to rub on it for you"

'It's okay it just grazed it, so how is the convention going see anything you just have to have?'

"Only everything" he gasped "seriously there is so much cool stuff here, I have seen the latest in graphic processors, some of the latest lap tops and mice adaptors, they have this really new system called grideon it would make you work so much easier"

'That's nice, get any free samples of things?'

"Some not many of these companies can afford to hand out free samples the most I've got so far has been some new USB types that don't hold much but I can take care of that, and a couple of ear bud samples with company logos mostly free advertisement things"

Nodding before I realized he couldn't see that 'yeah I kind of figured that you wouldn't get much with all the problems people are being kinda stingy on what they will and won't give to people at the conventions'

"Yep, so how has your day gone, get lots of work done?"

'Not exactly, I finished it all yesterday, so I don't have anything to work on and I called into work and there is nothing in need so I get most of this week off, I visited with Mrs. Simmons'

"Oh!! And how did that go?"

'Pretty well, though I must say this I now know what it means to have you back teeth floating and to have drunk and Olympic size swimming pool'

"Let me guess, lots of tea and cookies and conversation with little room for puppy to go out"

'Nail hammer, bear woods, yep you got it, she is a sweet person but she can go on and on and on'

Zach laughed and said "yes but she needs people in her life to help make sure nothing happens to her, after all its just her since her husband died and I think she gets lonely"

'Yes I agree, still I wish that she would leave openings for people to take care of things'

Zach laughed at that for a few minutes, when he came back up for air we talked about the things I had found in the book, he liked the idea of a specially grown chapel, but pointed out that if it rained it provided little protection so we might want to review it as a choice. I also pointed out that we need to get our rings picked out, (I had one design in mind but wanted to see what he thought of it, it was a natural themed on with trees and leaves and would have one leaf shaped in a jagged heart that would connect to a leaf on his ring that was the other half) which he thought could be handled later on. We then turned to other plans for the week, Zach would be helping with special symposiums and dinners so his talking to me was extremely limited, I said I had been thinking about going out with Kyle and his boyfriend Josh, Zach thought this was a good idea. After that we realized that it was kind of late for me and really late for him so we said our goodnights and hung up.

I went to bed about an hour later, I still hadn't called Kyle mostly because I needed to psych myself up to deal with him. Also it was kind of late to call anyone in our area too. The next day after breakfast and a little of the simpler chores of household life (laundry and bathroom cleaning), I called up Kyle and made plans to meet him and Josh for dinner that night. I spent the rest of the day cleaning up our apartment and trying to decide how I would talk with Kyle. It had been quite some time since I had seen him or dealt with him and even though he had helped cement the relation I have with Zach, I still wasn't quite sure how he would treat me this time. I could at least hope that the new element to his life his fiancée Josh would temper him somewhat and put a little control into the chaos.

I spent the rest of the day trying to decide what to wear, and eventually settled on a nice pair of olive slacks with a casual lavender shirt with white stripes that Zach always told me flattered my eyes. I took a cab deciding that if I was with Kyle and he drove me to drink I would want to have a safe way home, and headed for a sports bar that I knew they frequented but wasn't overly sporty. What I meant by that is that you could have a drink or meal with friends without having four T.V.s shoved down your throat broadcasting who knows how many games. I had a pretty good time with both of them Kyle had really toned down. Granted he did say hello to me by running up to me grabbing me and dipping me back bringing our noses close together looking me deep in my eyes and saying.

"Ahh there's the husky I really wish I could have gotten my paws on oh well" he then let me go so I would fall down on my back, luckily for me Josh grabbed me at that point and picked me back up.

"Sorry about that" he said "I've been working on getting him to straighten up and tone things down a little bit but as you can see this is the most I've gotten him to do"

"It's actually quite a bit more than I expected considering it is Kyle" I said "let's face it getting him to change the empty roll of toilet paper is a success"

Josh was laughing hard at this point but he did manage to say "oh he does change the paper now it wasn't that hard to get him to do it either"

"Hey watch it Mr." Kyle put in at this point "I do more than that now I do dishes I make meals and vacuum"

I was giggling hard at the look that Kyle was giving Josh, 'I've gotta know how did you manage these changes in him I mean after all he was with us for a while that one summer and we couldn't get him to do anything'

Josh led us inside and began with one of the stories "actually the toilet paper issue was pretty easy to solve, I just stopped replacing it and started to cook new things that didn't quite agree with him and look how quickly that changed him over" he laughed while rubbing Kyles ears and eliciting a glare from the smaller fox.

"Yeah yeah yeah, I would have learned faster but I just kept taking joy out of getting you in there with me" Kyle huffed,

"Oh really now, well I don't know exactly how to respond to that"

By this point I was laughing so hard I was having a hard time drinking my soda, and at that point our waitress arrived with appetizers and to see if we had our dinner orders all ready, after placing those the topics turned to the boring for a while. Mostly how work was oh that's nice have to think of your company in the future when we need to advertise, the general banal back and forth that accompanies any dinner. During dessert it turned to how I had met Kyle, and I told Josh the whole story and why it had taken so long to finally get back in touch with him.

When I was done Josh just sat back and smiled. "Sounds like my sweet horny foxy did something good" saying that he kissed Kyle. Kyle responded in kind, as I watched them I got a little jealous not that I wanted either of them but that they were together and my sweet bunny was away. When they came up for air we all realized it was probably time to pay up and say goodnight. We did so rapidly, I could tell that Kyle would likely be getting a good stretching later on that night. As for me I hailed a cab and headed home I took a nice hot shower and headed for bed. The rest of the week flew by for me and before I knew it I was driving to the airport to get Zachy. We met at the gate and collected his baggage at the claim, I'm not ashamed to admit that we reenacted the classic hello sailor kiss at least three times and later that night we had quite a lot of fun.

"I think you missed me quite a lot" he said as we lay cuddling

'Yes, I did'

"Well don't worry I don't have to go away again till next year and I intend to take you too"

'Really? No joke I get to go and cuddle you all week?'

"Yes hon I promise" saying that he yawned snuggled me close and slowly began to snore, I nuzzled up close to him and enjoyed the warmth and getting to be a little subby while I was held in the arms of my loving bunny.
