#3 of Two Halves of the Same Whole

Sorry about missing the deadline, I just had my wisdom teeth removed. Like before, Tattersol's perspective is available on his profile.

Streams of light from the approaching new day woke me up earlier than I really wanted to. My face stung from the gash I obtained previously, but It was easily ignorable. I reluctantly rolled out of bed onto my feet, grabbed a pair of skin tight blue jeans and a plain navy blue t-shirt and headed off to take a quick shower.

A few minutes passed, I was clean, awake, and ready to tackle the new day. I headed downstairs and noticed the Lucario crashing on my couch in the living room. He was face down, with his left leg and tail hanging out over the couch. I couldn't help but giggle silently to myself, but he needed to wake up eventually.

I crept up on him and shook his back, not too forcefully, but enough to wake up an average sleeper.

However as if he were drunk, he rolled over too far and landed on his back once again making a whack sound as he collided with the floor.

I nearly laughed when he asked, "what was that for? Don't you know it's not proper to wake up before noon?"

I decided to cope with him and said, "trust me I could sleep all day too, but I'd rather not waste the entire day."

I bent down, and held my arm out, "need a hand?"

"I'm good, thanks." He attempted to stand up on his own, but obviously couldn't manage as he fell back to the floor. "On second thought, I'll take your offer."

Don't have to be such a hard ass.

He grabbed my hand, and I hoisted him up. But the momentum didn't fully stop, and his body landed up against mine, nearly impaling me.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I realized just how close I was to having a hole in my body.

I let him go after a few seconds, failing to find the proper words for the situation. Instead I quickly ran to the kitchen and returned with a glass of water.

"I'd imagine you're thirsty sir?" I chuckled over the stupid line I just made.

He happily accepted my offer and grabbed the glass with both paws. It was honestly the cutest thing I've ever seen, but he woulda' killed me if I said anything. But good things never seem to last long as he spilled water all the way down his chest and onto the floor.

"Oh dear... I'm terribly sorry Maggie. I should have..."

"No no don't worry, just put the glass down and I'll be right back." I grabbed a towel from the bathroom and quickly made my way back to him. I carefully dried him off, trying to avoid brushing over any cuts.

"See wasn't all that bad!"

"No, I guess it wasn't." He sat down on the couch and appeared perplexed.

I decided to take a seat next to him, and I wrapped my arm around his shoulder.

"So what were you planning on doing today?"

He looked at me and waited a few seconds before responding, "I want to find that man from yesterday."

"And what exactly were you planning to do?"

He paused for a moment but eventually spoke, "I'm going to sit here on the couch and relax..."

I smiled warmly, "that's a better answer. And trust me, I want to find the guy too, but not in this condition."

I laughed before I continued, "well I do need to pick up some groceries, you can stay if you wanna."

He stood up and said, "No, I'll come with you. You may think I haven't noticed, but you aren't walking straight yet."

Well it isn't exactly easy walking straight when you have a throbbing headache.

I shook the thought off and said, "well I guess we're limping together then."

I smiled as I slid towards the front door ready to head out. I opened the front door, and turned to face Lugio.

He hurried up next to me, and we practically stumbled to the store. But then to my complete surprise Lugio grabbed me from behind, pulled me into an alleyway, and held my mouth shut.

What was that for? Oh...

To my horror my ex-boyfriend from a few years back walked past they alleyway and noticed us. He had a rather large bulbasaur trailing closely behind him.

"Oh Maggie, so nice to meet you here." He smirked, "oh and the mutt I nearly killed is here too? Wow, even I didn't expect you to resort that low."

I felt as if death himself just pricked me with an ice pick my body felt so cold. "Get the hell away from us!"

Lugio stepped up behind me and quietly whispered into my ear, "Keep him distracted for a minute. Make him angry if you have to."

I nodded in agreement and looked my ex in the eyes. "Does it make you angry knowing that a Lucario can take better care of a human than you can? Oh I bet your new girlfriend really appreciates a guy who calls a Pokemon a mutt. What do you call her huh?"

His face started to turn red obviously out of spite.

We're running out of time here!

"Hey! Wait!" Completely out of no where my ex ran off in the opposite direction.

At least two minutes passed until I fully snapped back into reality.

"I have no idea what you just did, but I'm impressed." Then out of no where I was hit by a sudden rush of emotions and quickly grabbed Lugio. I cried out, "thank you."

He held me for some time until I finally got a hold of myself. "You're welcome." He then led me out of the alleyway and towards our original destination.

Luckily we were only a block away were we finally reached the store. It wasn't anything fancy, just a cheap dollar store where most people came to buy basic necessities. I just came to buy some bathroom supplies. We quickly checked out and left the store before any more issues could occur.

Thankfully we made it back to my house without any more random encounters along the way. Now I can finally breath without worrying about someone murdering me. As we entered the house Lugio asked, "Hey Maggie, Why did the man say that he didn't expect you to resort that low?"

Well I could lie here or just be honest, eh screw it.

I decided to tell the truth, "he probably thought we were a couple or something along those lines. I wouldn't worry about it too much, he just tries to make everyone else look bad."

He muttered under his breath, "He was closer than he thought..."

I paused for a moment, not really sure what he meant by that sentence. Either I'm going crazy, or this Lucario is actually in love with me. Or he really has some self doubt issues.

I decided to play it safe by saying, "oh come on you're a nice guy, no need to get down on yourself."

He blushed under his fur and said, "I'm going to bed now."
