Time in Purgatory

by Scholar Richard of Duaka

Good day fellow readers! In this tome I will explain to you Time in Purgatory,a very difficult and complex concept but I will do my best to not confuse you. Lets begin right away.

The first thing that is important to know before we begin is that time/aging is not like time/aging is not the same as the world of the living or the dead. We Purgatorians do not age physically but we age mentally and through the soul. So for example,if you were born in the year, say 1975 for instance, by today 2014 your soul would be 523,866 years old yet you'd only be 38 years old physically. Why is that you might ask. Well this is the complex part. Before we Purgatorians are physically born, our soul is born thousands of years before us and then when we ARE physically born our soul automatically attaches to our physical bodies as babies. Confusing I know, but allow me to try and make it less confusing if I can.

Say that you have an 85 year old grandparent yeah? Then the next day you are born. With the process in Purgatory it is like your grandfather or mother merges with you as a baby just minus the weird body deformations. You'd gain his knowledge, wisdom and so on. Still confused? Think of it this way,its putting two entities together to make one whole entity. Thats the easiest why I can put it.

Now on the main topic,Time. Time in Purgatory is....complex.To date historical events we use AP and BP, After Purgatory and Before Purgatory. So if I said I was born in 750 AP that would mean I was born in 1345. AP reaches up to 9,037 or 2005 and BP reaches down to 1 or well the year 1,the first year of existence. Why 2005? Nothing historical has happened since then. Now moving on. Time in Purgatory is....fractured compared to time in the world of the living. Three years in the world of the living is three hundred years in Purgatory. As you might of just guessed, time in Purgatory move quicker then in the world of the living but slower then in the world of the dead where three hundred years are three hundred thousand years. That means anyone in Purgatory ages noticably faster then someone who ages in the world of the living.

The last and most crucial thing to note about the subject is that,if you ever visit Purgatory and you see no clocks, watches, etcetera do not be alarmed. It is customary to not have such things in Purgatory as it is a sign of bad omens to us Purgatorians.

Well this is the end of this tome and I hope that this information proves to be useful for you in the future. Remember, don't eat the Jalkashin fruit or you'll turn green!
